She is free in her wildness, she is a wanderess, a drop of free water. She knows nothing of borders and cares nothing for rules or customs. ‘Time’ for her isn’t something to fight against. Her life flows clean, with passion, like fresh water.

Escaping the Grip of a Supermassive Black Hole
Scientists at the European Southern Observatory have found evidence of strong magnetic fields near the event horizon of a supermassive black hole. Supermassive black holes, which often have masses billions of times greater than that of the sun, consume vast amounts of matter. As the matter gravitates towards the black hole, it forms a disc-like shapesurrounding the dense, gravitational center. Every once in a while, a lucky stream of plasma that is being pulled by the immense gravity of the black hole is able to escape and shoot into space. Although this phenomenon is not fully understood, scientists hypothesize that strong magnetic fields located near the event horizon of a black hole may be playing a part.
Using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), polarized radiation emerging from the center of a distant galaxy named PKS 1830-211 was examined. Specifically, the scientists were looking for a shift in the plane of polarization of the particles. When a particle of light passes through a magnetized medium, it will rotate it’s plane of polarization. This is known as the Faraday effect, or Faraday rotation. Prior to this study, only weak magnetic fields located several light years away from black holes had been studied. The data taken from the black hole located in PKS 1830-211 was gathered from an area just a mere few light days beyond the event horizon.
In this case, the level of polarized radiation measured from the supermassive black hole in PKS 1830-211 was hundreds of times greater than any other previous measurement taken. This further supports scientist’s prediction that strong magnetic fields may indeed be influential in the behavior of matter surrounding a black hole. With these results and further studies scientists hope to further their understanding of what exactly causes those lucky, albeit rare, streams of plasma to escape the grip of the overwhelming gravity found at the center of a black hole.

Complicame, retame, seduceme, hablame, escuchame, mirame, besame...
No, tú no puedes, aléjate, yo no te quiero. Tus palabras huecas, tu conversación vaga, tu necesidad de aceptación tan enfermiza...
Alejáte, no pretendas saber que me conoces, no quieras leer mis pensamientos o completar mis frases, tú no puedes...
Tú tan terrenal y yo tan etérea...

#Bertolucci
A to Z of Directors:
Bernardo Bertolucci
The son of a well-known poet, and winner of a prestigious poetry prize himself, Bernardo Bertolucci believes that “cinema is the true poetic language,” a claim that many of his wide-ranging films justify. Bertolucci directed his first film The Grim Reaper (La Commare Secca, 1962) at the age of 22. In his second film, Before the Revolution (Prima della Rivoluzione, 1964), he began to explore some important themes of his work— father- son relationships and the politicalpersonal conflict, themes also evident in The Spider’s Stratagem (Strategia del Ragno, 1969). The Conformist (Il Conformista, 1970) successfully brought together his Freudian and political preoccupations in pre-war Italy. But it was Last Tango in Paris (1972) that gained the director worldwide notoriety, mainly because of the loveless sex scenes between Paul, a middle-aged American (Marlon Brando), and Jeanne, a young Frenchwoman (Maria Schneider). With 1900 (1976), a film about class struggle, Bertolucci turned away from the introspection of his previous films. Tragedy of a Ridiculous Man (La Tragedia di un uomo ridicolo, 1981), an ambiguous view of terrorism, failed to please the public and the critics. But The Last Emperor (1987), the first western film to be made entirely in China and covering 60 years of China’s history (1906–1967), won nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Cinematography. The Sheltering Sky (1990), set in North Africa; Little Buddha (1994); and The Dreamers (I Sognatori, 2003) are other Bertolucci films of note.
What to watch:

The Conformist (1970)
Last Tango in Paris (1972)
