"Sounds good to me. You do enough around the house to deserve to relax after all. I still admire you. So much," She told her with a tender smile as her hair was played with. As each day passed she was becoming more and more attached and she'd couldn't imagine another way she had wanted her life to go. She loved being here. She loved that they'd made a new start together and even though there was no label on their relationship they were kissing on a beach like they were teenagers.

The brunette giggled as she wrapped her arms around the woman as she pulled her as close as she could manage despite their slightly awkward position. “I know you do, plus I can get you to do all the hard work whilst I relax in my office.” She smirked, wrapping a piece of Santana’s hair around her finger as she let out a small sigh of content.

"I like hard work," She admitted with a grin. "Especially when it has rewards and bonuses," She added with a happy laugh before nudging Rachel's nose with her own. "And are these bonuses you speak of your lips? Because that's a very tempting deal and just the way you structured that sentence," She moved up onto her knees and gave the woman a more forceful kiss but she kept on smiling. Nothing could stop her smile. Not when she had Rachel and these strange but growing feelings.

Rachel grinned at the thought of her husband dancing around, trying to teach a bunch of children. With a shake of her head, she giggled, and then moved closer to Santana as she pressed her lips against hers as a peck. “Consider it.” She told her, pecking her lips again as she grinned, “I’ll make you work hard for it, I promise. Maybe even give you a few bonuses.”

"Well obviously I wouldn't expect it for nothing. That makes me sound even worse," She mumbled with a brightness in her eyes before she relaxed. Her hand skimmed across the ground next to the blanket as she listened to Rachel speak and she realised that in the time she had been gone, new dreams had been created. Her only dream had been to be released one day. Maybe to speak to her parents once more. "Finn dancing," She laughed and shook her head. "He would have made all the kids laugh, that's for sure. Not sure about teaching them but...." She pressed her lips together. "It's still how my mind works, Rachel. I owed time for what I did and when you're in there...I just want to feel like I'm doing something,"

Rachel shook her head, “You would actually have to do something in order to be paid, you know? It wouldn’t be a case of charity.” She pointed out as she bit down on her lip, “It was mine and Finn’s dream, to open up our own little performing arts school where he could teach dance…” She burst out laughing before she could even finish the sentence, “God, no,he could teach screenwriting, not dance, no…” She smiled as she shook her head and thought back to her dorky husband dancing around the kitchen. “Stop worrying so much about what you have and who you owe.”

"I never thought Rachel Berry would worry about a little competition when she can slay anyone," She whispered with a grin before sighing. "Rach you've done so much for me, the thought of being paid by you is almost unsettling. I don't want to feel like I owe you and now there's a chance you could be giving me a job. You gave me a second chance and you didn't believe everyone else. You put those three beautiful children in my life....that's already so much,"

Rachel shrugged, “Something here, there’s too much competition in New York.” She pointed out, with a small smirk, “You can dance all you want, but I would pay you and we could see if you can get any qualifications. It’ll take a while to find a building and so on.”

"You want to open it up here now we've made the move? Or is this something you're considering planning for the future if we ever wander back to New York? Either way I am behind you one hundred percent and if I give myself a bit of training then I am sure that I can get back on my feet, literally," She grinned at Rachel then sighed and chewed on her lip. "Maybe you should dance with me? Or maybe I should try and get the girls dancing? Just for fun,"

Rachel nodded her head, staying silent for a few moments before she smiled. “I was thinking of finally opening up my own business… I would need a dance teacher though… I want to open up my own performing arts school called Shooting Stars.”

The soft touches made her eyelids flutter and she almost disappeared in the sound of the ocean before Rachel's words roused her. She turned to her with a slightly raised eyebrow then shrugged the shoulder Rachel had just kissed. "I haven't danced since I got arrested," She admitted matter of factly. She hadn't really felt like dancing in prison.

Rachel blushed as she missed the contact immediately, pouting as she kissed Santana’s shoulder and snuggled into her. “Do you still dance?” She asked, curiosity in her voice as she peeked up at her, givig her a small smile.

Santana couldn't put into words how much she appreciated the compliment. It was possible to lose one's self esteem when no one even looked your way more than once for a reason other than judging you or scorning you behind bars. However it was Rachel's hand that intrigued her so Santana seized the moment and also Rachel's hand and moved it up to her covered breast. Once there she aided Rachel's hand in squeezing before she chuckled and rolled over onto her back.

Rachel grinned into the kiss, her hand slowly moving up, her hand slightly shaking with nerves. “You’re beautiful.” She finally managed to get out as she had to catch her breath; she could never have imagined this happening, but Santana’s lips felt good, and for some reason that she couldn’t determine, this felt so right.

They were both broken hearted in their own ways but right then Santana could feel something tugging in her chest and it was a damn good tug. It felt like a connection to the one person she'd known so long and was so different with now. Their High School selves could never even have imagined this in their wildest dreams. Very slowly she put her hand over Rachel's and squeezed, almost tempting to ease her higher but didn't.

Rachel pulled Santana down with her, so the woman was resting on top as she broke the kiss, just for a second to catch her breath before she pushed their lips back together her hand moving underneath her shirt as she traced a heart on her toned stomach.

Santana knew that each kiss they shared got deeper and more passionate but she would not be the one to suggest they took any steps beyond that. They weren't officially together and there was no pressure to have new intimacy as they'd only shared a bed one night ago. It had been so long for both and them and with people that mattered to them. People they loved. Still, she gently eased Rachel down onto her back and made sure to support her head as they continued to kiss.

Rachel let out a small moan as she pressed her body against Santana’s, not able to determine when she had decided that she deserved to be happy. Finn was gone, and she would always be sad that he wouldn’t get to see their beautiful children growing up but Santana had come into her life and taught her that it was okay to be okay after that.

Santana grinned wide and scooted closer too. She pushed the food away a little roughly so they'd have room before taking hold of Rachel's legs and pulling them up over her own. She didn't know when this had happened and she didn't care because it was exactly what she wanted. How could she not? This life was amazing for her.

The brunette grinned as she nodded in agreement, “You make me happy.” She whispered, before she pressed their lips together, wrapping her arms around her neck as she pulled Santana a little closer to her.

"Well it's not a no," She murmured with a delighted grin before rubbing Rachel's back. "I know, it is a little secretive but it's also cute. I think they just want you happy and if I make you happy then I could not ask for more,"  She admitted honestly before easing her hand just slightly under Rachel's shirt. "We'll ask them in the morning and then you can call me whatever you want,"

Rachel laughed, “Is that a yes?” She asked, with a shy smile as she looked back at the house. “Well, I think they are up to something to be honst, they keep whispering to each other whenever I go near you..” She laughed, “We can ask them first though…”

Santana dwelled on the woman's question before leaning in and kissing the lip Rachel had been worrying with her teeth. "I guess they must..." She breathed before tilting her head back. "But I think I get the idea of what it means..." Then she paused and raised one of her eyebrows. "Do you think the girls will be happy? Just out of curiosity,"

Rachel laughed, knowing it was probably true - his father was enough proof that he could be very tall and also, his long legs were already apparent. She wrapped an arm around the woman as she bit down on her lip, “Do people ask people to be… their girlfriends at our age?”

It meant the world to Santana to hear that the children admired her. She knew that she wasn't as close to Barbie as she was the other girl and Chris didn't really have a choice but she'd work on it. She'd try and be that other parental figure in all of the children's lives. "Hey, Chris is gonna be super tall so he'll be looking down on all of us," She joked before humming lowly and moving forward to rest her forehead on Rachel's collarbone. Did they need a label on it? She couldn't try and summarise whatever they were feeling in just one word. "Just know that no matter what I will support you,"

Rachel blushed as she looked down at her lap and then slowly, she moved her hand into Santana’s with a small sigh. “You mean the world to them, Faith adores you and Chris… I’m so glad he is able to look up to you for the rest of his life.” She moved a little to gently brush her lips against Santana’s, “I want you to hold me every night, I want to be able to hold your hand whenever I want and I want to be able to smile and nod when people compliment our family.”

"You say that like I haven't noticed, Rachel. You're more beautiful than you've ever been and don't think I didn't feel how good your body felt against mine last night when I held you," Her voice was soft and soothing. She was a world away from everything and most of all she seemed to be getting better. She was not the distant and slightly scary Santana who had been released from prison months earlier. "You are the best thing that could have happened to me Rachel. I don't need an exciting life, I spent eight years behind bars," She paused and pressed her lips together. "Those children mean the world to me and I want to be there for them whenever they need me. I want to be happy again Rachel and if you're happy then I feel like I can get there,"

Rachel smiled as she shook her head, thinking back to the days when she could barely cook. She sighed to herself, as she took in the moment, with a grin as she shifted a little so she could get closer to the woman. 

"It’s not a crush, I’m a grown woman." She pointed out, before she laughed and snuggled into her as she closed her eyes. "I really like you, I want to give us a chance if you are willing… I know it’s not the most exciting life… but we’ll have more time for each other when the kids go back to school… and I mean, I know it’s a lot to ask. Taking on three kids isn’t… the best thing in the world… but…"

Santana laughed and leant over slowly and pressed a delicate kiss to Rachel's cheek before popping some more pasta salad in her mouth. "Yeah but still...you used to set everything on fire and it's not just these little bits, it's what you cook for the kids too," She explained before leaning back and wiping her hands on her shorts. Out of habit she gave a glance back at the house, just checking in her mind that everything was okay. She knew the girls were more than efficient to look after themselves for a short time and Chris was a good sleeper these days for a guy so little.  "And I don't really care what I eat but I've got you by my side and the water sounds nice and the weather isn't crap and I'm not unhappy...." She whispered before sighing and leaning back on her arms, turning her eyes to the sky above them. "And for some reason Rachel Berry still has a crush on me,"

Rachel had been nervous all day, although she couldn’t figure out why - she had spent the entire day with Santana, so it wasn’t as though this was a huge difference from the way they usually spent their time. But, this was more formal, official and… scarier. But she was so glad it was finally happening. Rachel had never done things by halves, and she knew that the way Santana made her heart beat a little quicker, the butterflies in her stomach and the blush on her cheeks, was not worth giving up on. 

She looked at the woman and smiled, as she shook her head. During the day, Santana had distracted the kids for an hour or so, so Rachel could make their picnic. With fruit, salad and Santana’s favourite pasta salad she was pretty proud of herself as she blushed and shook her head. “Well, there wasn’t much cooking involved… I would have done more but… we only arranged this yesterday.”

Santana had been looking forward to this moment since Rachel had proposed it last night. She knew it wasn't a serious, serious date but they were still sitting down on the beach together with a collection of food between them and a baby monitor sat just in front. The day had been a fairly normal one apart from when Faith had taken a tumble off the porch when she'd got a little too eager to beat Santana in a race. There had only been a few tears though and Santana had soon fixed it up by offering to sing their rendition of love is an open door from Frozen with her. The swell in the water had been a little had been a little more than usual so the children had been told they shouldn't go in. It hadn't deterred them from their outdoor activities though and Santana had looked over at Rachel any time she could to check the woman was enjoying everything with Chris nestled against her. They hadn't mentioned the date at all that day but when they'd woken up together in bed that morning, she'd given Rachel a squeeze just to reassure her that there would be no way she'd let go. However after softly kissing her cheek and whispering she'd come back if requested she had headed down and made everyone breakfast. Yeah, it really had been a good day and now they were topping it off with their date on the beach. Santana was actually nervous about it too. "You know the way the sun falls over those clouds makes you look even more gorgeous...." She smiled broadly then stabbed her fork into some of the food Rachel had prepared. "Not as gorgeous as this though. Your cooking is incredible. Becoming a mother made you so much better,"

"Thanks, I...uh, it runs in the Lopez blood," She said quickly before smiling and nuzzling into Rachel more. She didn't realise it but her fingers were lightly tracing the woman's stomach over the top of her shirt. It was rhythmic and soon enough she could feel herself relaxing and drifting off beneath the engulfing warmth of Rachel and the duvet. Yeah, she really was happy.

F2F → FRESH BEGININGS

Rachel blushed as she nodded her head, “Thanks…” She whispered, “You’re beautiful, too…. I still believe you’re one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.” She sighed in content as her eyes closed, yawning.
