This is one of the frames for my 1 second animation that I did

I liked this task as it was another technique of animation and I enjoyed bringing a the peices together

I think I should have simplified the work a little bit more as all my drawing were kind of detailed and were dependant on the proportions of the things drawn for it to work

It went well I think but for next time I think I should go simpler with drawings and focus more on how the animation side would look

Today we studied pyschogeography and how it is used, we walked outside looking at our sorriunding, sketching and writing about significant things such as the look or what we heard, smelt etc.

I enjoyed this task as you could be creative and it wasn't straightforward meaning it was open for interpretation and you could do it how you chose.

I want able to add everything g I wanted and i think the reason for this was because I spent too much time on drawing.

If I did this again I would be more creative in how I portrayed my feelings and spent less effort on how it looked.

Reflection is the key to improving your skills in anything you do, as you cannot improve on something unless your realise the mistakes you are making and consciously make an effort to correct them

I learnt the process of reflection and how it can be done effectively

I knew the points before this but did not practice them all except for the basic ones

Now I feel I know how to properly reflect on something

To make something realistic, you must create it with regards to perspective, to show the distance and size of objects

This is something I will need to consider when making my background and interior design, perspective has a massive effect on animation

This is not a new concept as it is common knowledge , I try to show perspective in all animation but sometimes I struggle with the scale of things so it can look a little weird

I can learn more of this from practice and just thinking about what I can do to improve

3D Research task

the task was to research a theme relating to my personal interest in animation, i decided to research 3D. i designed a poster as well as creating a powerpoint about the topic.

i enjoyed this task because i could research what i wanted to know about and understand it more, also even though my first attempts are not great could be greatly improved, i think i learnt on a basic level the research that needs to be made to create a comprehensive piece of work, and experience in presenting this work to my peers.

i think next time i could improve both sides of the task, visually and research wise, but overall, i think this was a good task and a change of pace from what i normally would have to do in class.

This the the new project that we are starting, creating a landscape background of a scenario of our choice

I have never done background design before so this is something new for me, it was Interesting learning about Walt Disney's experiences and how new methods were used to create more realistic animation.

Today we went a step further with green screen and actually great some scenes using green screen

I did not know about software that was used with the green screen before today, but I now know some of the basics when working with a green screen

This interested me as it shows the work that is done behind the scenes when movies are made and some scenes are made using a green screen

I think I would like to learn more about this as it helps to understand how some animation and scenes are made

this is the finished version of our pixelation project, we decided to do it again as we weren’t happy with our first attempt. we havent added any sound but that may be something add later.

doing this task again was much easier as we were familiar with equipment now so we could start working faster and we had an idea of what was needed to make it good.

this was done in a couple hours and for next time i think i would give more time to do the project so it could be made even better.

A documentary is something that provides a factual project on a certain subject using pictures of interviews of people involved in real events.

animation is used widely in documentaries to portray real events, sometimes no actual can be provided for those events and sometimes animation just represents it better, this is what i learnt about today. i also saw the animation that was used for the documentary ‘Alive’ by David Attenborough and it looked amazing! it gave such a life like representation for all creatures shown and was entertaining to watch.

After Effects

After creating our pixelation ajimation, the next step is to edit all the images and put them together to create the animation clip, although we hadn't completed it fully, we still edited what footage we had so we could get familiar with the software.

This was a new software for me which I hadn't used before, but I had done so e basic video editing before this with a program similar to this one so I wasn't completely in the dark.

At first it was a little difficult to use but as I started playing around with it I started to get the hang of it.

Today was a about 3D printing, the types of 3D printing there's is, how it's done and why it's so useful. I learnt about different materials that can be used and there advantages and disadvantages, but I was more interested in the practical side of things. Later we used a website called 'Tinkercad' to begin with the basics of creating 3D models which I enjoyed. We learnt how to use this print out models in the 3D printer. The website was a little difficult to use as it has an unusual way of modelling, I think I will experiment a little more with it.

Pixelation

we started the production of the pixelation task today, we spent a lot of time finding a place to film as our original plan didn't work out.

the next problem we encountered was that we could preview the image on the camera before we took the picture so we could not see how the picture would look before it was taken.

after these problems were sorted out we got to work and everything went well after that, i think i need to work a little more with the cameras and learn how to use them better.

this is my presentation for the animation principle i was given to research about, at first i didn't think there would be much to search about as i thought this was just a random phrase

after some research i found out that it is a principle of animation, but was very simple so there wasn't much i could write about.

This is part of the storyboard I am going to use for my main pixelation scene, it might change over time as I'm not that familiar with this type of animation so my timing for each scene might be a little off I think.

this is another task for Pendulum Motion but just set in a different scene. this was not as hard as the ultimate pendulum as this had only one object that i had to predict the movement of and not 3 different ones. the only problem i had was getting the two object (Spider and ‘Web’) to move together and to have the same pivot point but i fixed that after some trial and error.

this is my first attempt at the Ultimate Pendulum Task, there were some new things that i had to learn in this task. the biggest challenge was to know how the components should react to the movement of the object, but i had a video that i could reference to see what it should look like and that helped a lot. this is not the smoothest example but i had some more attempts after this that turned out much better but i can’t upload them RN.

Psychogeography map

A PsychoGeography Map is a map that you create yourself with your own thoughts, feelings and view of a place, it is different to a normal map in the way that it doesn't just show you the location of something and what it looks like, it can be used to describe location, feelings, scenery or other things that you might see or feel when you are at that location

it was a different experience for me to create a map like this as it requires you to be very aware of surroundings, sounds, feelings and other senses and you use them to describe the location. it does not have to include pictures, i think the best to do this is to find something specific that you remember or a specific set off feelings of when you are at a certain location to describe it.
