a smirk plays on the corner of his lips as he follows around the desk to stand and lean against the same shelf that sura was organizing. he chuckles, " perhaps it is in my best interest then to not tell you the true reasoning of my visit. you would just find it wasted time no matter what, will you not ? " yejun reaches out, taking a book that he is certain sura would have touched next on the shelf, flipping it open and pretending to care about the contents inside. " have you ever perchance thought that you work too much, sura ? "
sura can only roll his eyes at the retort. "ah yes, of course, because nobility like yourself is so uncooth to actually feel shame in doing something rude. the entitlement." not that sura loved being a nobleman, but he certainly took his etiquette and decorum seriously. he was a devil, not a chaotic mess of a demon. there was a way to things, and he followed it, and also used it to his advantage when needed. he could certainly lord his manners and cordiality over people when he so chose.
his desk is tidied rather quickly. these things were transactional, if anything. he hadn't necessarily enjoyed himself, rather he was conducting the means to an end. corruption. the way she looked at him when he drew ever so closer to show her something in her books was information enough to know lust was the key to her soul becoming infernal. it was simply a tactic, not for his own pleasure. so of course, if he could help it, no mess would be made. "it's a good thing you did not interrupt, for perhaps she would've run off before we even finished, and i always make sure my partner finishes." he shoots a dangerously coy look to yejun for a brief moment before he returns to his menial tasks, a smirk soon etching onto his lips.
again, another eyeroll. "yes, yes, it's not empty, but then when would i get to revel in your lavish company, yejun? we both know the moment you get what you want you'll be gone." it was a certainty in sura's eyes, and he'd much rather watch yejun squirm in the denial of what he coveted for years and years than give in and be done with it. sura wasn't about to be played a fool and used up like some flimsy mortal.
the book is snatched up right before he can take it, fingers lingering in the air as his eyes follow the object to yejun's hold, observing his careful fingers peeling back pages. he curls his fingers into a fist, clenching before dropping the limb to his side. "what's it to you?" why would yejun even care about sura's work habits? "you're just here for a fuck, then you'll be on your merry way to the next cute little thing. no need to pretend to care about my well-being."

"How are you and your parents doing? Are they in good health?" She would ask this same questions every time she came in, whether in was Joon or his parents that greeted first. Her eyes would still wonder about the shop in awe and even toward Joon as he liked to move about like a busy bee.
"and you remembered that about me." he gives a heartfelt smile, clearly quite touched that she had remembered that detail about him. detail. it was his entire persona at this point, it was hard to forget the draconic side to joon, but he was touched nonetheless. he does happen to notice the blush on her cheek from his outward affection, but he chooses not to point it out. no need to cause any embarrassment, right?
"i look forward to looking this over later. thank you." he folds the sheet up carefully and stores it away in his pack for safe keeping, then heads over towards the shelf with their healing potions. "how many do you need? we've got minor healing, greater healing, and i believe we have one superior." he starts shuffling bottles around, scooping them into his thick, meaty arms and carrying them all over to the shop counter.
"my parents? oh they're doing great! yes, good health, as always. they keep busy with the shop, though today they have the day off since i'm here. i believe father took them on a picnic outside the city. a little romantic getaway." he smiles to himself, grateful to have parents who are still happy and in love. "a picnic is romantic, right? i haven't really dabbled in affairs of the heart, i've been so busy adventuring. though... i guess that's for the best. in case i die and don't come back. what do you think?"

-- a starter for @jadedink concerning the tailor jade βΈΈ
ugh. sura hated when court events sprung up that he couldn't weasel his way out of attending. yes, he was a bard, yes he enjoyed conversation and performance, but the nobles in the courts were so dull and their affairs garnered very little interest from him. that's what sura's sibling was for, they could handle the negotiations and elbow rubbing. sura simply wanted to tend to his books and go about his business.
this was a grand event, however, one that even he had to attend, no exceptions. the last time he tried to sneak out and excuse himself he got a lashing, which he wasn't keen on experiencing again. so, he was unfortunately planning to attend, but at least this meant new clothing. this was the one aspect sura actually looked forward to for events, namely because his tailor was the best there was in jeosung, at least in sura's esteemed opinion.
"jade, darling?" he calls as he enters the shop, taking in a whiff of the fabrics, leathers, and laces and instantly feeling relaxed. it was quite the homey feeling, one he could never grow tired of. "i'm in need of your talents, dearest, could you spare me an hour?" he checks his current outfit to be sure it isn't offensive before making his way further inside, eyes scanning about for the tailor in question.

"whoa! whoa-- no one is taking advantage here."
joon puts his hands up in surrender, showing he comes in peace. his arms shimmer in the moonlight, his blue scales glittering iridescently as the cool light rakes over them. his simple mage robes sway in the breeze, his quarterstaff strapped to his back with his travelling pack, and his hair is swooped aside so his piercing eyes can take in the full image before him.
in truth, he had followed her.
but! he didn't have ill intent. he had just finished up a quest and turned in his spoils to the guild, only retaining the draconic artifacts he had found for his own personal studies. he had chosen to celebrate his finds at a tavern with some friends, slamming back a few drinks and enjoying the pleasant music of the local bard playing. that is, until she scurried off, and he had been curious as to why. as he made his approach he had noticed the broken string swaying in the late evening wind, but he wasn't exactly stealthy and had been discovered before he could even announce himself.
well, this was awkward.
"apologies! i mean no harm, truly. i just, uh..." he straightens up, scratching at the back of his head sheepishly. "i heard you playing earlier and wanted to tip you but you had left before i could even approach you. so i followed you. which i'm now realizing is pretty creepy, but i really just wanted to compliment you! honest!"
he sighs at himself, slapping a hand against his face in a face palm and wrinkling his brow in frustration. "i'm an idiot. okay," he gestures out with both hands now, attempting a smile, "lets start over, yeah? i'm joon, i'm an adventurer, and i make potions. i collect draconic lore, mostly about blue dragons cause--" he swings back and forth, showing off the patches of scales on his face and arms, "i kind of descend from them, which lets me cast magic. i'm also not very bright. sorry. okay! now..." he bows slightly and gestures his hand towards her, indicating it's now her turn to introduce herself.
Λβͺΰ¦ β Under Starless Skies
{ Open Starter }
The night brought a softer soundscape than the day. Less frenzied footsteps, fewer voices battling to be heard, a quieter rhythm. The calm it carried washed over Reina with the lapping over the waves. Hush.... Hush...
Reina sighed into the sound, pulling the flimsy shawl tighter around her shoulders. It was becoming increasingly apparent that she should have draped something a little warmer around her shoulders before leaving the tavern, but there was naught to be done about it now. She couldn't exactly go back there. Not after that performance. If it could even be called so.
The lyre sat at her feet, a guilty reminder that Reina's eyes kept wandering to. It was almost taunting her, the cursed thing.
"All the care I offer you and this is how you repay me?" she muttered fiercely, then made the smallest motion as if to give it a kick. The image of the poor thing, sitting helplessly with its single broken string, subjected to more damage, flashed through her mind. Gods. Now she felt even more guilt.
Crouching down so that she was covering the humbled instrument, Reina closed her eyes. A broken string was just that - broken, yet fixable. She had finished the performance calmly, then excused herself and fled. What a coward. Another mistake like that and the cracks could begin to show. And they mustn't. She could not allow it.
The sound of muffled footsteps behind her proved exactly this. Her eyes snapped open, though she kept unfailingly still. Was it a tavern patron, come to question or solicit her? Or something else. The night held not only calm. It held its own secrets too, as did its more favoured denizens.
"I'll have you know that I am armed," Reina said into the quiet. Granted, her only weapon was a blunt instrument, but there had been times when she'd had less to work with. Yet here she was to tell the tale. "And I do not appreciate those who take advantage of someone when their back is turned."

" perhaps, though you know i do not come here in search of infernal knowledge when i lived it. " the words said so casually as his gaze drops for the briefest second to stare at the button that sura fiddles with before returning back to the handsome devil's face. " unless you have another private session scheduled, for which i can offer my own input if you like. "
"no, you wouldn't be familiar with shame, would you?" sura muses, finally straightening out his attire the way he likes and rounding his way about the room to start tidying and correcting the items on his desk. some of them had been bumped around and skewed out of place during his session of corruption with that poor girl. he could use his cantrip but some of the satisfaction lied within correcting it all himself by hand, so it was exactly the way he liked.
"bold of you to assume i would've let you watch, little dove." he lingers a moment longer to inspect the work on his desk, giving a single satisfactory nod before finally properly turning his attention to yejun. a twinkle forms in his eye, his lips taking on a playful half-smirk. "perhaps you could've stood by the door and listened. though that is a bit invasive, poor lilianna would've been mortified, i'm sure." he feigns any kind of care for the mortal's privacy. it is merely a tool to use against yejun in this game of teasing and taunts.
he sits back against his desk, folding his arms carefully over his chest and quirking his perfectly groomed brow. "offer your input? that's not necessary. if i needed any sort of input from you i would've asked by now. have you ever heard me ask for your..." and he tilts his head, letting his eyes trail down yejun's form slowly, drinking in every detail before crawling his way back up to the fiend's face, "assistance?"
he pushes off the desk, heading towards a shelf to re-organize some of the books sitting on it, the most used ones that are kept off chain and within his office for ease of access. "tell me, yejun, what are you really here for? i don't like my time being wasted."

off duty, joon could always be found working the potion shop with his parents and sibling. he always needed the practice in alchemy, and he loved helping his family out where he could, not to mention it gave him a free room above the shop that was much better than any bunk the guild could offer him. the day was young, the air was clear, and the streets were filling up. it'd be a good day for sales.
he's moving some crates around when he hears the door open, the jingle of the bell on the door alerting him. "i'll be right with you!" but then he hears that familiar voice and nearly drops his crate. he sets it down, whips his head around and sees her, his face lighting up with the recognition. "kanda!!" he runs over and scoops her up in his arms, twirling her around in an enthusiastic hug with a cheerful laugh. "what are you doing here!? i thought you were out on a quest!"
he sets her down, patting her arms a few times then settling his hands on his hips, his intrigue peeking when she begins to produce a booklet. "whoa-- is that draconic?" his eyes flare with a new kind of excitement, one that has his mind swimming with his accumulated knowledge and the possibilities of learning more. "for me? kanda..." he wraps an arm around her shoulders and plants a smooth to her head. "i can't believe you thought of me.. alright potions coming up! on the house!"
γΌ from one to another
[ for kim joon of oathshxker w/ kanda ]
Kanda figured it was time to venture back home. Even though she didn't really have a reason to at the time, she held a small booklet from her latest exorcism that had draconic writing and some illustrations she could not recall other than maybe incantations. It was a gift from her latest client other than the roses strapped to her pack, she was excited to hang them in her window back in jeosung.
But now she had more pressing matters as she made her way to the gates of jeosung, there was a certain sorcerer that she needed to visit. Kanda doesn't have many friends from the guild since she left but had made sure to keep in touch with joon when she could. She hoped this booklet would be of use to him since she remembered in passing of his writings of his draconic heritage. It wasn't much but kanda was in need of some healing potions anyway.
Of course in her thoughts, she didn't realize that her footsteps brought her to the very potion shop his parent's owned. Wasn't long until she was through the door and her eyes spotting a familiar figure, "Joon." Her call out was short but there was a small grin on her face as she pulled the booklet from her bag, making her way closer inside, "glad I caught you here," she has always been straightforward in her words but that is just how she always been, "I need some health potions but also... this is for you."

βΈΈ ππππππππππ
-- a starter for @heartstcel concerning the marquess ahn yejun βΈΈ
another day, another corruption to invoke within a puny mortal's life. at least, that's how the world operated through the eyes of lord sura. the thought causes a smile to quirk into the corner of his mouth, his eyes glazed and unfocused for a moment before they return to his wrist, settling on his current task of refastening the cuff link on his shirt. he tugs at the edge of the fabric, straightening it out to make sure his appearance was tidied, neat, pristine as always. the same couldn't be said for the poor human girl behind him who scurried to reassemble herself.
"that was a productive session, lilianna." he muses, trying not to snicker under his breath. he turns to look at her from his profile, his eyes dragging over her completely disheveled form. her hair is completely frizzed and tangled, her clothes are wrinkled and bunched in areas that leave little to the imagination, and her skin is so perfectly flushed, reddened and glistening with the faintest layer of perspiration. good work, sura.
"same time next week?" he asks her, and the redness in her cheeks deepens from a rose to a scarlet. this time he does end up chuckling, the tones velvety and warm as they hum past his lips. hurriedly, she sees herself out of the room without another word to him, knocking a few books off his desk as she stumbles away. most surprisingly, she almost runs straight into another person in the doorway on her way out, causing her pause as she looks to the intruder, eyes wide with shock, then cast down with embarrassment as she dashes out into the hallway and away from both of their presence.
sura simply shakes his head, eyes dancing with amusement. "for shame, yejun. you should announce yourself before barging in like that on a private tutoring session." he chides him as his fingers fiddle with the last button on his vest, his palm laying flat to smooth over the fabric. "can i help you?"

hello my beebs (again)! it's lyna again, just making a separate intro for joon. he's my lil adventurer draconic bloodline sorcerer who loves going out into the world to explore, learn about dragons, and just do cool stuff! he's very wholesome, has a nice cozy home life and just wants to learn more about his origins and where his bloodline comes from! he's a good boi. if you'd like to plot with him just give this a like! i haven't made any open connections for him (yet, working on it) but his bio will be under the cut if you're interested in perusing him!
ββΈΊ β§ΛΒ° Introducing the adventurer KIM JOON, a earnest HUMAN with a fondness of dragon lore and alchemy/herbology. Their admirers endlessly praise them for their skills as a courageous SORCERER & their work as a GUILD MEMBER and ADVENTUERER. On the contrary; their rivals will warn you of their tendency to be careless and unintelligent.
NAME: kim joon NICKNAMES/ALIAS: joonie GENDER: male PRONOUNS: he/him BIRTHDAY: december 18th AGE: 26 SPECIES: human, koryoan SEXUALITY: pansexual CURRENT LOCATION: jeosung, koryo OCCUPATION: adventurer (does alchemy on the side) ETHNICITY: koryoan NATIONALITY: koryoan RELIGION: bahamut SOCIAL CLASS: adventurer ADVENTURE CLASS: sorcerer - draconic bloodline, lightning
FACECLAIM: bang chan, stray kids EYE COLOR: cobalt blue (draconic bloodline) HAIR COLOR: dark brown HAIR TYPE: wavy BODY TYPE: burly HEIGHT: 5'11" WEIGHT: 190 lbs SCENT: dragon scales TATTOOS: multiple draconic runes that cover his arms, back, shoulders, chest and legs PIERCINGS: ears: lobes, upper lobes, and helix SCARS: multiple across numerous part of his body from previous battles OTHER: has a bright blue shimmer to his skin from the scales of his draconic bloodline growing in
bullets:
born in jeosung to a set of human parents who own a potion shop. mom was skilled in alchemy, dad in herbology
joon ran around the shop as a little helper growing up, quickly picked up on magic and learned little cantrips like mage hand to help out where he could
mom and dad were both sorcerers, one from storm sorcery and the other from the lightning draconic bloodline, mastering weather magic together and fitting like two peas in a pod, had been former adventurers together and made the perfect match
joon had the picture perfect example of true love in his parents growing up and this has shaped a lot of who he is: loving, caring, unsuspecting, trustworthy, imbued with the need to do the right thing, help those in need, give freely
has a younger sibling [wc] that took after storm sorcery while joon inherited the draconic bloodline
the shimmer of his scales started showing around 7 years of age and he always thought they were super cool and pretty
his eyes changed colour as his scales grew in and he also loves them
in his preteen years his magic developed further into first level spells and he grew more curious about both alchemy and dragons
his parents showed him how to make some basic potions and he practiced every day
he asked his parents about dragons and draconic history and lore, but even the parent with the draconic bloodline didnβt know much.
joon started going to the library to research draconic history, magic, lore, etymology, and learned to speak draconic in the process. he didnβt find enough to quell his intrigue, and so he decided to start training up his magic more so he could venture out to historic and ancient sites to learn more
between helping at the shop when heβs in town, joining up at an adventuring guild, and practicing his magic, joon has become a capable adventurer
has gone on many quests with various groups and companions, has seen near-death more times than heβd like to admit, but has acquired a lot of knowledge that he documents in a series of texts called βJoonβs Guide to Draconic Discoveryβ. he has written enough for three volumes so far, and is working on the fourth currently.

hello my beebs, tis i, lyna (she/her, 25+, est) here with my beautiful brain child i am SO EXCITED FOR named sura. he's a noble in the fiendish courts (though he doesn't really wanna be) and takes delight in corrupting people's hearts and souls. his strategy is normally to appeal to the deadly sin someone is weak to and exploit it in hopes that when they die they go to hell and become infernal like him. he's quite evil, and i'm very excited to pen such a devilishly devious muse. below the cut is his bio, and i have some premade open plots for him here if you're interesed! please like this for plotting! i'll message you, or you can add me on discord: @plumboss!
βΈΊ β§Λ° Introducing the nobleΒ lord sura, aΒ cunningΒ DEVILΒ with a fondness ofΒ music and poetry. Their admirers endlessly praise them for their skills as aΒ charismaticΒ BARDΒ & their work as the court of flames'Β INFERNAL ARCHIVIST. On the contrary; their rivals will warn you of their tendency to beΒ manipulativeΒ andΒ malicious.Β β¦Β faceclaim: park seonghwa, ateez .Β mun: lyna, she/her.
THE DEVIL IN ME
ββΈΊ β§ΛΒ°Β
NAME: [classified] NICKNAMES/ALIAS: sura GENDER: male PRONOUNS: he/him BIRTHDAY: unknown AGE: stopped counting after 300 SPECIES: fiend - devilΒ SEXUALITY: chaotic bisexual CURRENT LOCATION: jeosung, koryo OCCUPATION: nobleman and scholar of infernal history ETHNICITY: infernal NATIONALITY: koryaan RELIGION: demonic SOCIAL CLASS: nobility ADVENTURE CLASS: bard - college of whispers
FACECLAIM: ateez seonghwa EYE COLOR: red [when not glamoured] HAIR COLOR: black HAIR TYPE: straight BODY TYPE: lean athletic HEIGHT: 6β1β WEIGHT: 170 lbs SCENT: eau dβavernus TATTOOS: none PIERCINGS: ears and tongue SCARS: one long scar down the side of his neck, apparent scars around his horns from when they grew in
bullets:
born in avernus, was quickly summoned to jeosung by his family to avoid the blood war front linesΒ
was raised in jeosung as part of the nobility, with distant blood ties to one of the archdevils of the nine hells serving as his claim to his title
unlike some of his brothers, sisters and cousins, sura never took to any one skill that he was supremely proficient at, but was rather skilled in most things he tried, and therefore ended up training as a bard
he is proficient with many instruments, his favored instruments being the flute and the lute
can pretty much talk his way out of anything or convince people he is more capable than he actually is
chose the name βsuraβ for himself as an alias to keep his real name a secret, though somewhere in the nine hells there exists half a stone tablet with part of his real name recorded on it in infernal. the other half is in his possession and locked away forΒ safe keeping.
found himself enjoying his studies more than combat and spell casting, and so he decided to make a profession out of his learned knowledge and become a scholar and tutor
he began forming an archive of infernal texts he safeguards in his estate as part of his scholarly duties
he visits court, sure, but itβs a little dull for his tastes, though he does his best to make the most of it and have his fun, either through conversation or making a little impromptu performance
he uses his tutoring as a way to lure in potentials for becoming fiends, using his role as a mentor to influence human souls so that they might go to hell upon death and become devils themselves
his methods usually include pushing someone towards acting on the deadly sin theyβre most guilty of and then appearing as an ally when their sinful acts blow up in their face
morals are clearly corrupt, his main goal is to avoid his name being discovered since he enjoys controlling others, rather than them controlling him
is more so guilty of apathy and boredom rather than selfishness, he toys with people to entertain himself more than anything
will always try to appear as a friend rather than a foe, this is his way
dresses in the finest, trendiest [and most revealing] clothing
heβs all about having fun really
