Ohhh, i agree so much with that. Everyone is like "after rotj they are both force ghosts and have happy ever after" when really NO it shouldn't be like that.

Anakin horribly hurt obi-wan and such a trauma won't disappear overnight; they need to learn to trust each other again and it will take time. Of course obiwan is going to be scared of him and anakin is going to realize it and feel guilty because of it.

dang i need more fics that are barely fix-it divergences/au's where at some point, including as force ghosts, obi-wan actually acts like he's afraid of anakin and avoids him.

this fic is the only obikin i've read so far that's really scratched the itch of focusing more on anakin's guilt over his violence & hatred and the two of them navigating that. nothing is brushed off and while it's forgiven, it's not thrown under a rug, or overshadowed by obi-wan's misplaced guilt or sense of responsibility.

it's such a good direction to go and it forces anakin into a position where he has to face the hurt he caused not just in general but very personally to obi-wan, the Hate and blame he intentionally targets obi-wan with - and depending on the fic, that he actually acts on, not just in one bad fit but in a series of attacks over time, maybe even killing him. this, coupled with the weight of obi-wan's forgiveness. and does obi-wan's capability to rise above fear (which he doesn't always have to in every fic!) necessarily negate the wariness and distance obi-wan might not help but feel towards anakin whether or not he still "saves him" in the force, and does it necessarily make the weight anakin feels in his treatment of obi-wan on hindsight any lighter?

i find it so interesting how ahsoka constantly says she isn’t a jedi when she, in fact, holds true to their core values. i’m sure she says it because she left the order after the council didn’t believe her and turned their backs on her. but, if anything, she is the true embodiment of what jedi are supposed to be. she has the best qualities from both anakin and obi-wan, in balance, much like how the force is balanced.

“i am no jedi” no ahsoka, if only you could see that you are everything a jedi should be.

my favorite part about vaderwan is that vader spends 10 years obsessively chasing obi-wan throughout the galaxy yet the first thing he says when faced with him is "have you come to destroy me, obi-wan?"

Guys, we are halfway through my #obikin fic DOLL right now. I am already writing my next fic, although I cannot guarantee I will post it right after DOLL, because it needs quite a bit of work. For the record, it is the next part of Dynasty. But what do you want to see after that?

i think villains in general provide better, more epic romances because they're allowed to go to extremes. they're allowed to put their love over the greater good. they're allowed to be selfish. the best a hero can offer you is number two, because their duty comes first. villains, though. villains will burn down the world for a last kiss goodbye.

as republic propaganda, the famous Team, obi-wan kenobi and anakin skywalker themselves, should do an advice column. but like, together.

someone sends in paragraphs about a personal problem, and obi-wan writes thoughtful, measured and thoroughly jedi-like responses, encouraging compassion and communication. meanwhile, anakin is bringing his very worst spreddit (space reddit) energy and providing the most unhinged advice possible while still making it through jedi censors

(and then every so often it's anakin's advice that is genuinely good while obi-wan is revealing a whole special kind of unhinged of his own but they don't talk about that)

I love it when two characters are completely and utterly obsessed with each other to an unhealthy degree. Utter devotion to the point of insanity. To the point the lines blur as to what the nature of their relationship even is. Romantic? Platonic? Sexual? Familial? Professional? All and none of the above, somehow. They can’t exist without each other. Being together is making them both worse. They would watch each other sleep in bed at night every night if they could. They are literally always thinking about each other. They would kill and die for each other. They resent each other. Even seperating them isn't going to fix the situation at this point. They permanently live inside each other.
