Do you have any headcanons about Obsequious or as most people call her, Cakey?

hmmmm yes!

she's a baker (obviously)

she's pretty easy-going and I would love to become friends with her!

she's extroverted, yet sometimes afraid of very sudden events and interactions, and she's fast to calm down and to take control of the situation! (if it's familiar and not that difficult-)

Cakey is easily lost when someone's being too rude to her out of blue, or suddenly too loud

I want her to teach me to cook

her social battery is easy to off and then to on again, she just needs some self space and time for herself

she can't stand too much noise and very loud voices (hi Nana, Cakey is more innocent tho)

it's way too tiring to her and causing headaches

Cakey's voice itself is quiet, warm and soft

since her voicebank is Japanese, can Cakey speak Japanese? lmao

she sleeps a lot

she loves to listen about the others' relationships and dramas

Cakey gives advice which she doesn't follow in her life

she always sings in the shower

my source song (Appetite of a People Pleaser) is a very complex and heavy song about two different things, either depending on interpretation or at the same time, and I think that should be noted, that the mental illness portrayed in the character Cakey should be explored and treated as real

yes, "hehe Cakey likes cake" has a place, and that place is the same as any other silly thing in every other serious media's fandom: light, fluffy jokes for when people want to see their favorite characters have a good day for once

but this should NOT mean that no one looks at the serious side of it too, and you don't even have to only look at it! or even mostly look at it! we struggle looking at heavier themes for weeks at a time sometimes, but when we can we love to look at and think about serious themes in media, it makes it more interesting than silly jokes and the same four vines reanimated seventeen times (no hate to people who reanimate vines please keep doing that but it helps my point)

sorry for niche fandom posting on main but like.. the ghost and pals fandom really does have a huge problem w the way the characters and songs are treated.

ghost's older songs [ which are the most popular in the fandom ] are so incredibly obviously about their personal struggles with mental illness but y'all will take these characters and go ' hehe silly cakey likes cake. funny crispy mirror man ' and im like.. hm.

i guess it makes sense because most of you are like. thirteen. but please if you're gonna make goofy little 2016-esque jokes about these characters that were literally created to portray genuine life struggles and mental illness then at least TRY to also take the original media seriously.
