sorry to post about homophobia in football in between the spotify wrapped but a thing that’s so clear to me now if that you can bring your politics into football if it’s conservative politics but you can’t if it’s left leaning. like it’s fine for pulisic to hit the trump dance, but it’s not okay for mazraoui to post something in solidarity for palestine. it’s okay for mazraoui, guehi, morsy, etc to use their religious beliefs to showcase their homophobia, but it’s not okay for sam kerr and kristie mewis to post their baby announcement. it’s okay for clubs across the board to increase their ticket prices and price people out of watching the team, but it’s not okay for marcus rashford to use his wealth to feed local kids. it’s okay for players to post their support for their rapist teammates, but showing any kind of solidarity with their women colleagues who were mistreated by their federations would be controversial. just a very nasty sport

Since you've been watching all of Christen's goals on YouTube, which is your favorite?
There's this magic Bergkamp-touch of a goal
You took this touch behind your back
and spun
and then somehow volleyed the ball in
And it was, like, other-worldly.

Dear everyone,
It is with an intense emotion that today I am announcing my choice to put an end to my career with the French National team.
After many years of passion, challenges and unforgettable memories, it is time for me to turn the page !
Those years spent defending the colors of our country were among the most enriching ones of my life and gave me the opportunity to live emotions out of the ordinary.
I’ve had the immense honor to wear this jersey, the pride to defend our colors with fervor and the happiness to share those memorable moments with my teammates !
Each game, each victory, each challenge have forged not only the player but also the woman that I became.
I want to thank my teammates, my coaches and their staff, and everyone that supported me throughout my journey and made it possible…
You were my family on and off the field !
I will always keep in mind the incredible memories we shared and will stay proud of what we went through together.
I want to thank my loved ones that have always been there and never stopped supporting and encouraging me, I owe them everything !
Finally I would like to thank the supporters for your love and your precious support during all those years.
Although I retire from international competitions, my passion for football is still intact. I will keep supporting our French team and cheer on the next generation of talents so that we can finally lift our first trophies.
I love you.
Amandine Henry

Do you think you'll ever have a dog of your own? C: I'm not sure because I have a roommate and she thinks that if I got a dog, she would no longer get enough attention. T: That's so true. T: ... I was also thinking, 'We have a roommate?'
