CATALINA ;
☽✾☾
Catalina remember the first time she went out in the field with Grigori and it had been nerve wracking. A fight this important, and of this magnitude to be your first as a lot. That’s why Cat knew she wanted to stay close to Zoya “Hey girl” Catalina gave her a smile “How are we feeling?” @obsidianc
†
Zoya had been sat alone at the table in the kitchen, hugging a cup of hot tea, watching the steam rise and then disappear. She offered Cat a small smile as the witch appeared beside her, although Zoya’s attention soon returned to her tea. “I’m...” she huffed a gentle exhale, unsure of how to answer the question. “Terrified.” she answered with a quiet chuckle. Honesty was always the best policy. “I don’t feel like I’m ready, at all.”

The last thing he remembered, Lilith had the dagger ready and she was about to put him to sleep. When he was being put to sleep, he did not anticipating to awaken. But then he did, when warm and powerful blood dripped into his throat. His eyes opened in a near panic and he sat up quickly, not used to the freedom of mobility. Evelyn was in front of him, her blue eyes were wide. His hand came to her cheek but the sound of sobbing and the smell of blood pulled him away from his progeny. He looked over and saw Kendra, crying and pleading over a body. Was that her friend Alexandra? He recognized the dagger as it was being pulled from her body. He didn’t take the time to piece it together, he just pulled himself from the table he had been laid out on and stumbled his way over to the group of witches crowded around the two girls. “Kendra,” he kneeled down on the ground next to two witches who seemed to be trying to save the young witch. It was almost cruel, her heartbeat was returning but it meant she was in a perpetual state of dying. “She needs to be healed,” he spoke and brought his wrist up to his mouth to break skin. He held his wrist over the girl’s mouth to let his blood start to drip down. He looked up at Kendra, every inch of him wanting to do anything to spare her the pain she was currently in.
☀
Kendra heard his voice first and it had been so long since she had heard it that her mind almost tricked her into thinking it was all in her head. And then she opened her eyes and she saw him, and this time her heart skipped against her chest. A smile dared to taunt her lips but it faded away almost as quickly as it appeared, as a single tear escaped over the soft curve of her cheek. It was in that moment when Kendra was supposed to feel a wave of relief. Aesir was okay, he was alive and he was okay. Lilith’s dagger hadn’t been plummeted into his chest. Wasn’t that the reason why they were all there fighting? Why they had all spent endless nights tirelessly planning how to ensure his survival? Only Kendra couldn’t feel relief, not until Alex was okay. She understood was Aesir meant, and gave him a single nod to tell him it was okay, to do what was needed. Kendra was fearful of tearing her gaze away from Aesir in fear of it all being a vision, or a dream, or a twisted illusion. But she looked down at Alex again, hoping and praying that it wasn’t too late for her.

He acutely aware of everyone standing around and waiting to see if they were actually able to reverse the death of the witch. Whatever the two witches were doing to reverse the flow of blood back into her heart was working, albeit slowly. “Don’t stop until her wound is healed,” his tone was authoritative towards the two other witches. Her heart was beating, now it was just to heal the rest with his blood. He felt the warmth of Alex’s breath on his wrist first and looked up at Kendra. “She’s breathing,” he reached over to check the hole in her shirt, wiping away the blood to see that the stab wound was now gone. He listened intently as her heartbeat started getting faster and then pulled his hand away, falling back onto the ground slightly. Anticipating his weakness, Evelyn by him with a blood bag ready. He stood and stepped away to drain the bag. “Is she okay?” he questioned as he turned back to the group, his gaze intently on the blonde witch still holding on to her friend.
☀
Alex was healing, slowly but surely. She was healing, and she was alive. There was the sudden rush of relief that Kendra had been waiting for, and she sobbed quietly at the ever so delicate rise and fall of Alex’s chest. She leaned downwards, pressing her forehead against Alex’s to steal a moment just for the two of them. In a whirlwind of an evening, Kendra had lost her best friend and then she had gotten her back. Alex’s eyes weren’t open yet, but her healing would be slow. Kendra offered a quick glance across at Grigori and gave him a gentle nod, he seemed to have everything under control with Zoya. “She’s okay.” finally, Kendra smiled with a small sigh of relief. Gently, she shifted her weight so Sasha could take her place and be with the woman he loved. Alex was safe, and that was all Kendra needed in that moment. As she pulled herself to her feet, she passed Grigori and rested her hand upon his shoulder, giving it a quick squeeze before walking towards Aesir.
“Thank you.” Kendra was almost breathless as she spoke, the weight of what had just happened slowly trickling its way through. There was probably no way for her to ever pay him back for what he had done, especially when he was still so weak himself. “How are you? Are you okay?” Kendra stepped closer to him, her hands raising to his chest and then smoothly gliding upwards to his shoulders. She was acutely aware of all the people surrounding them who were slowly dispersing now all the action was over with, but she couldn’t stop herself from inching closer to him. It had been too long they had last been together, and part of her was still in disbelief that he was really there.
