something i think is really interesting about spamton, and probably part of the reason people assume hes “faking” trauma/mental illness is that he seems really reluctant to show weakness. his lowest moments are only relayed when hes either literally dissociating, in a manic state, or projecting onto kris- basically, he only admits fear or pain when hes detached from reality or puts a layer of seperation between himself and those traumatizing experiences. otherwise he tries to constantly play it off like hes doing fine and attempts to appear in control of his life. given his puppet motifs it makes a lot of sense, that masking is one of the very few forms of control he has over his life, and its certainly an interesting contrast to tenna, who is VERY open about his fear and pain and even uses it as a tool of manipulation. but because tenna is so upfront, people take his trauma more seriously.
