something I’ve learnt as I’ve grown older which has bought me so much peace, is that not everyone will understand you and that’s okay. a lot of people lack the life experience, emotional intelligence and empathy to ever understand your life and the choices that you’ve made. you don’t need to prove anything to anyone. you know your truth and anyone who chooses to make baseless judgements or misunderstand you, isn’t worth arguing with to convince them otherwise. this goes for family, friends, or even just random people on the internet

It has been a hell of a week, friends. I have zero work-life balance right now. I think I burnt out somewhere around Tuesday and I have no idea how I’m still going, or even how to really stop. I know that’s unhealthy and I’m trying to figure it out but I am beyond exhausted. I’m not sure I even have it in me to practice self-care. 

If you’re in a similar sinking boat, know that it’s alright to crash. There are times when it is necessary. The dust will settle and things will work themselves out. You did not fail. I’m mostly talking to myself here, but if you read this, do something for yourself, please.

i mean the fact that people studying science aren’t actually FORCED to learn the social contexts of their own fields is completely ridiculous i remember being in a neuroscience class and the professor mentioned phrenology but all he said abt it was that it was like. factually incorrect. he didnt even mention that it was used to support racism and eugenics and he DEFINITELY didnt talk about how the SAME fallacies that drove scientists to look for defining characteristics in people’s skull shape a hundred years ago are NOW driving scientists to look for gay genes and autism genes and genetic racial profiling

Im prepping to start a new (online) term (yeah, my uni is weird and does not do semesters like everyone else) and trying to place all my assignment dates together so I won’t forget any (which happened with a test last term).  

Online learning means new challenges and I’m trying to set everything up so when the covid-depression hits I’ll be able to keep working. If anyone wants to share what are you doing to improve your online learning experience, feel free to share!!

these notes were really fun to write and i think hey turned out pretty well! i had never done this style of lettering before but i think it’s pretty cute and although the lenin drawing is definitely a little bit dodgy (i just couldn’t get the eyes right), it isn’t as bad as it totally could’ve been 😂

so like a black turtle neck jump/top thing with a a checked skirt and black tights. i then pair that with some nice boots (wither high heeled or chunky ones) and then a trench coat and big scarf. it is the best outfit ever

no more advice about studying with adhd from people who do not have it pls!!! it only makes me feel guilty for not sticking to these tips i’ve been told countless times and know don’t work well for me, and probably a lot of adhd people because its not really how our brains work, its how NTs try to find a logical “solution” to our problem when they don’t understand the nuance of it.
