Hey if you put dni if you're fans of this piece of media on your blog and the piece of media controversy in question is just a minor age Gap of 2 years between teenagers that are both under the age of 18 just go ahead and don't interact with me especially if said peace of Media is right next to fans of a literal fucking groomer these two things are not comparable

Okay like I said in this AU siyrin and sirens are two different things and they're often mixed up because the name sounds similar I kind of want to know what you guys like me to introduce a siren character into this AU or just have it as a fact that sirens exist we just never meet them we only know they exist because of the siren siyrin confusion

Okay so like I said in my pin post I'm planning on drawing all of the merfolk characters in my AU in the merform and here's the thing Kwazii is half-shark but I don't know if I want to make Shellington half-shark as well Kwazii is technically a siyrin ( phonetic spelling is intentional) and Shellington is not, and I do kind of want to make what separates siyrins from the regular merfolks is siyrins be the fact that they're half shocked but I can also see all merfolk being half-shark

Okay so more questions so like I believe I mentioned tweaks twin sibling is a merfolk and it haven't decided whether she knows she knows and also becomes a merfolk so Poll sorry I'm really not good at this the Twin siblings name is Twist I feel the need to say that somewhere

Okay so I have this idea on how Inkling became let's just say a part of Calico Jack's crew for a little bit and that is he was a professor at a university and he walked in on one of his colleagues basically torturing Calico Jack but I don't know is that how they met or did Inkling snap because that was his friend that he grew up with on the seamount

Inspired by Song of the Sea by @mothnem on here and Neminine on AO3 the story is on AO3

First things first why I use the phonetic spelling of siyrin it's because sirens in Greek mythology are bird people (that I kind of want to add to this AU) and in this AU the two names are spelled so similarly is the reason why people think that original Greek sirens or merpeople even though siyrin oh a different thing( also because I genuinely believe the phonetic spelling makes more sense and I wanted an excuse to use it [I know it's in a different language])

This is an au in which Kwazii and Shellington are both merfolk they don't know about each other( Tweak might be one as well)

Kwazii and his family and partners are siyrins. what differentiates them from other merfolk is they have a culture that is heavily reliant on music it's more of a cultural difference than it is a physical one, though siyrins do have some unique physical features

Merfolk have gills on their necks even in their landforms so they often wear things like chokers scarves or bandanas things to cover up the gills

Merfolk can turn non-merfolk into merfolk they call it drowning because your lungs technically have to fill up with water before they're able to turn you

Merfolk call non-merfolk surface dwellers

There are mer hunters people who go after the merfolk there are also people that fight back like Calico Jack and Inkling, Inkling is basically Dexter

Calico Jack is also known as a vigilante pirate so along with hunting down the hunters he goes after the truly wicked pirates and rescues people and donates his treasure he also saves people from ship recks and taken ships sometimes the only way to save them is drowning them but he always hates having to do that

Merfolk marriage is much more than a simple ceremony it's a magical process tying the lovers together basically forever and they have to be truly in love otherwise the ceremony will reject they also both have to be merfolk if a mermaid folk falls in love with a surface dweller they either won't get married or the surface dweller might ask to get drowned

Polyamory is very common amongst merfolk, also merfolks Society is very confused about why the surface dwellers frowned upon polyamory in favor of monogamy being the norm. monogamy isn't frowned upon in merfolks society but it's not as common as polyamory

Kwazii is married to two people both of them are people that Calico Jacket saved by drowning turning them into merfolk one of them is tweaks twin sibling who lost their memory they do eventually get reunited with their family

this is Kwazii's merform he's part tiger shark that's one of the things that I borrowed (stole) from the story that inspired all of this
