There's also evidence to suggest that the games in general are all just fake kidnappings they play as a game. The existence of Bowser and his Minions as playable characters in the sports and party games, and that Mario 3 is confirmed to be a play in universe are the most prominent.
Throwback to that one time I threw Twitter into chaos over whether or not Princess Peach is the artist behind the paintings at her castle. A lot of people were all for it, but some were so vehemently against it that they tried to debunk it. It’s just a silly headcanon, dudes. Calm down. Peach does more than just bake and get kidnapped. Let her have her hobbies.

I’ve literally been playing the Reignited Trilogy again recently (just finished Spryo 1 120%) because apparently I got it on Steam at some point. What is this serendipity?
Half-Life: Year of the Dragon (2022)
Who needs Gordon Freeman aka the main protagonist of the original Half-Life game released back in 1998? The dude is boring. It’s time to move on to someone new. Someone like Spyro, that purple dragon from the Spyro The Dragon franchise. And thankfully, a new mod swaps the old Gordon for the (similarly old) Spyro, complete with the dragon’s moves and abilities.
Half-Life: Year of the Dragon is a mod that has been in development for a few years now, with an older demo of it being released back in 2018. Developed by Magic Nipples, the mod doesn’t just replace Gordon with Spyro, but changes how you actually play Half-Life. No more guns or grenades. Instead, Half-Life is now a third-person platformer that forces Spyro to use his charge and flame abilities to make his way through the alien-infested corridors of Black Mesa.

Sometimes you just need to explain the code to someone who has no idea how it works, and that allows you to recognise where the bug is. If Y'gathok the All Consuming Hunger is available to be the rubber duck then why not?

That is literally canon as well, not even speculation. In episode 2 of season goddamn 1, Officer Jenny is actively warning Viridian City of poachers, and despite not actually knowing its Team Rocket, as evidenced by stopping Ash and questioning him, Jessie and James' wanted posters are literally right behind her.
Before Ash came along and they made a bad decision that keeps getting them into trouble because of a Pikachu with maxed out IVs or something, Jessie and James were a formidable crime duo
