Ewurah Gold and Goldmann
The Ghana National Gospel Music Awards (NGMA 2019) nominated ten new amazing Gospel musicians who have tremendous works within the year 2019 under review. Before the Gospel Artiste Of The Year 2019 was awarded, which was won by Celestine Donkor the next tough category was the Promising Artiste Of The Year.
The Category had other acts nominated and Ewurah Gold recorded the most votes, which constituted 40% public votes and 60% votes from the Academy board. This automatically won her the category as announced on that faithful night. The cheers from the audience significantly showed that Ewurah Gold deserved it after such hard work of releasing the ‘My Praise’ album, and videos showing performances on different platforms and massively investing in radio and television.

She shared in an interview with Levin Lartey of Online Christian Gospel ( OCG News ) after winning the promising artiste of the year. “ Nominees in the category had good works like I do, and we are gradually paying our dues. The nominations alone made us winners, my heart is full of joy and gratitude for what God is doing in my life.” Ewurah Gold encouraged up and coming artists to be prayerful and learn from others who won awards in the past. She continued by calling for unity amongst GOSPEL artists in the country.

On the 12 of February, the African Gospel Award Festival ( AGAFEST ) was successfully launched at the Alisah Hotel, Accra Ghana. The first launch in Ghana was to unveil the second edition which is AGAFEST 2020 and to create the awareness of scheme once again with other vital information below.
The Africa Gospel Awards Festival (AGAFEST) is an award event that recognizes and celebrates talents and hardworking gospel acts, ministries, mission projects, outreach and evangelism, charity works and many more across Africa. The awards seek to unearth, encourage, motivate and inspire musicians and Christian activities, mission, evangelism outfits to aspire to attain excellence in their ministries and businesses and to be of better service to the Kingdom of God.
Further into the purpose of gathering, this is what the C.E.O of AGAFEST Ghana Mr. Prince Mckay had to say after the opening prayer by Rev. Thomas HarryYawson the Vice President of AGAFEST. ” We are once again here to unveil the continent’s most credible Gospel award scheme Africa Gospel Award Festival (AGAFEST) here in Ghana the birth land. AGAFEST is here once again for each and every ministry contributing to the kingdom work. Am here to introduce the General C.E.O of AGAFEST and welcome the Sound African High Commissioner who has a word for us.” Madam Ayanda Ncwane the then wife of late Sfiso Ncwane who’s ministry will forever be in the hearts and soul, who had an encounter with him; as well as the High Commissioner for South Africa H.E. L Xingwana who briefly said : The people of Ghana have been extremely welcoming to us and ready to work with our team to promote Tourism, Trade and Investment, Cultural and people to people contact between the people of both countries. The AGAFEST platform is not only here to strengthen the bond between the two countries but the whole continent of Africa. We are ready to support this international project to promote peace, love, unity and exploration of different cultures especially our music.
The newly appointed C.E.O of Agafest Madam Ayanda Ncwane added that she is very happy to be called upon to give her input for the kingdom work. ” Passionately I have followed and worked on almost all Major Gospel music project in South Africa because of my late husband and after. ” she said. Furthermore, AGAFEST will be moved to South Africa for the second edition but I will announce that South Africa will hold on to the Award Festival for five years till it moves to another country; this is because we want to use this platform to bone our sister nations and just as my sister the Commissioner said we would want this project to be a medium of peace, love, education and a long lasting bond between us, which brought up the year’s theme for AGAFEST as : One Africa One God.
Madam Ncwana being in this entertainment for almost ten years shared some few ideas and advice to musicians and most the unsung.
– Gospel music is a medium of supernatural communicating to God which creates connections to the father directly because it’s our first mandate to worship. – There is a responsibility for gospel musicians to bring out the words, gifted to them which is to heal, direct, encourage souls through music. – Advice to main stream and up and coming artist: don’t keep your music in the rooms but go to programs with your music even when not invited, just try. In addition to that, present yourself well and take the business side of this industry serious. – We need a theme song for agafest officially which should be from the Ghanaian gospel musians to create the mark that Agafest was birth from Ghana even though it’s spreading across Africa. – All big entertainment platform should open their doors for the up and coming and the main acts should create a platform for easy collaboration especially across Africa.
Madam Ncwana officially announce that there will be a Second lunch of AGAFEST in South Africa in March. AGAFEST is going to be fair and transparent to all when it comes to voting and award related roles. Finally it’s our conscious aim to push the Gospel Genre over all the music genre in Africa.
The following artistes preformed in between the press launch. Emmanuel Smith John Winner Kofi Karikari
Some personalities who came to support. MOG Kingzkid Nat Abbey Pascal of Live FM ( E.I.B Network )

One of Ghana’s fasters going Urban Gospel Artiste, Samuel Kyei known in showbiz as Kobby Salm, held his median Itmoc High School Your tour at the Adisadel College in Cape Coast last 25th January, 2020. Itmoc is going to be the first album by Kobby Salm after series of hit singles like ’ I wish I could sing – Satan Claps ‘ and many more.
The first tour featured a fellow urban artiste Kingzkid and comedian Parrot Mouth. Levin Lartey of Online Christian Gospel ( OCG News ), in an interview with Kobby Salm, he revealed the agenda behind the tour was to preach the word of God through music and he further explained the title of his album ITMOC.
“The aim of this tour is to fulfill a mission given to me by God which is to reach youths through my Urban Ministry. Knowing my target being the youth, organising school level programs like this gives us the opportunity to preach the word to them through music and brief sermons like we did, he said. He further explained that it was imperative for him to introduce himself again and the yet to be released album ITMOC.
Giving the meaning of ITMOC, Kobby said, “I got ITMOC from the abbreviation In The Midst Of Comfort; which I received after prayers. Before everything, I lost my sweet mom: because she was someone I had at heart, I couldn’t get over the thought of losing her, so I created things around me in order to distract myself from her sudden death, so I bought games, movies, music and anything that would get a guy’s attention off situations like this; but there came a time I no longer felt to use those gadgets so I started praying. During the prayers, what I heard within me was “ You have all these around you forgetting am the comforter.” So the whole album is to remind people not to only seek God when there is a problem but should always remember where they come from furthermore no matter how things are going we should remember God.”
  https://ocggospel.com/i-cancelled-lectures-to-minister-but-god-made-it-all-successful-ruth-adjei/
The answer by Kobby to the follow up question about when the album was going to be released was- Management is yet fixed a date because he done recording over 25 songs and that management is picking about ten songs out of the total. But then I performed a song I featured kingskid at my first tour and to add, almost every one I have on my album is likely to go on tour with me to support the agenda.
In an interview with Kingzkid his performance, he shared his opinion about the ITMOC High School Tour by Kobby Salm and he said: by the grace of God they know their target and their mission as urban artiste so embarking on such a project with a brother was a mission support. He further said “The Urban Ministry has a lot of influence in the youth and it’s gaining a lot of bolster from almost every youth we come by. So it’s our mission to preach Christ through the high tempos and throwing light on the fun part of Christianity because worship is not only ‘ hair covering ‘ but presentation of holy and acceptable body through hand lifting, dancing etc. I will encourage Kobby Salm to keep pushing because this is our purpose.”
