A FANZINE? A PERRY THE HUMAN FANZINE?!

Welcome to this first little intro to what this fanzine is going to be! Some things might change as we get organized, but for now, here are the main details—so exciting!

Non-profit. I have no idea how to use platforms like Kickstarter and similars, and I wouldn’t feel comfortable handling other people’s money. So this zine will be completely free, made purely for love and our monotremed muse.

For all audiences. No explicit content, at least in this first edition.

This is a Perryshmirtz-friendly zine. You don’t have to be a shipper to participate, and the content won’t focus on the pairing, but keep in mind that a large portion of the fandom centers their work around it. Respect and community are key.

If all goes well, sign-ups will begin on June 5th (baby, we are back), and there will be two checkpoints: June 21st for submitting the first part (don’t worry, this part is just basic info about your version of Human!Perry), and August 1st for submitting the rest (fanart and fanfics). The official release date of the complete zine is currently set for August 31st. PDF download links will be posted on this blog so that anyone interested can access it.

Fanart: Traditional or digital—it doesn’t matter. We want every Perry flavor we can get.

Fanfics: The saddest thing you’ve ever read? Perry on an actual day off? Write, write, write—we want to read it all.

Articles: We are people of culture.

Printable. On the other hand, the design will be print-friendly for home printers—for those who enjoy binding their own books—or even for print-on-demand services, as long as, of course, it's not for commercial use. It’ll be as accessible as we can make it.

English: This will be the official language. If it’s not your native language or you struggle with it (look at me), don’t worry—there are tons of tools online to help you, and you can even ask another participant for help.

This zine is open to suggestions, so if you have an idea you think is amazing… we’re all ears.

Spread the word! If you have friends outside Tumblr who have their own version of Perry, encourage them to join in. The more, the merrier!

Summer belongs to you! Remember, this is a fan project made by fans for fans, just for fun. If you have any doubts or run into issues during the process, don’t hesitate to reach out via blog messages, chat, or the Discord channel (which doesn’t exist yet, but will be the sing-up day). The main goal of this zine is to have fun.

I’ve watched this episode idek how many times and I never manage to remember that Khone says this and it gets me so bad because like 10 seconds before this he’s like “Oh hi guys, I brought nachos to make up for abandoning you 🤪”

This is from a couple of months ago and I somehow never posted it despite it being one of my best drawings as of late

Loab things I love (besides, you know, all of them)

The fact her usually monotone voice only changes once and it’s when calling Khone a coward

The implication that Loab has 1) personally been to a furniture store on Earth 2) gotten up close to a cow at least once with Khone. So much up for interpretation with that

For some reason despite the fact she’s already interacted with Milo pretty normally beforehand, that all goes out the window when thinking that vigorously shaking someone is an Earth greeting

Loab being one of the tallest Octalians, yet still roughly Milo height

Other than the commander, she seems to be one of the bravest Octalians. Not a terribly high bar (especially if you use Khone for comparison) but she does tag along with Milo for a while

“I had a little bit of fight left but I used it up untangling the garden hose this morning 😔”

The fact you can tell that despite her not being too bright, she still manages to be the smart-ish one between her and Khone

The animators seeming to (at first) not be able to distinguish Loab and Khone, so what is technically Loab’s first line in the show was clearly supposed to go to Khone (Look me in the eye and tell me Loab would say the word bro. You can’t. Also Khone’s voice was used for that line lmao)

AUNT LOAB. If you look closely you can see she puts two hands on Milo’s back a few times, even within minutes of finding out he wasn’t intentionally destroying the ship. And when the Octalians do the ‘I am Milo’ thing, the first one you see isn’t the commander. It’s Loab, and she’s the one that jumps straight into helping Milo.

I’ve even created and been the sole author in the Loab/Khone ship tag on AO3 because I’m abnormal about a narrative that’s 99% crafted by me

I’m thinking about how stupid the Doof is Phineas’ dad theory is and the more I think about it the less it makes any sense to me. like apart from it being a terrible 1 (singular) date where he “never saw her again,” when exactly do they think the conception of Candace & Phineas took place? if somehow they conceived Candace on the date they had (they didn’t) that would make them both like 30 years old and they definitely are not. and they’d have had to go back ~5-6 years later and have another kid, which couldn’t happen because it was ONE DATE THAT THEY WENT ON and ALSO. Also if he’s Candace’s dad that means he cheated on Charlene (who he was still married to at the time she was born) and left his <1 year old daughter (who he very obviously has loved thru her whole life) to go have another one with another woman. and then 5ish years later he’s like “hey I want to add a sibling to my secret other family”? or something? This really is not something he would ever do ever. I can’t even think of this hypothetically it’s so stupid and dumb

Literally the only reason I can think of for this theory is that people saw that one screenshot of a tumblr post saying “omggg guys they went on a date do you think he’s Phineas’ dad???” and they have never actually watched the actual episode that screenshot is from or even just that one scene, all they know is that they went on a date. but like literally that scene exists to negate that whole theory but it just fueled people’s belief in it instead because they did not bother to actually watch any of it they just saw that one pic and were like “omggg I just noticed that Doof & Phineas both have triangle heads maybe they’re related?????”

(to be fair if Dan & Swampy had included a single other character with a triangle head they wouldn’t be so unique but they’re the only ones not even any background characters)

anyway I just can’t get into the minds of normie fans I just cannot relate at all
