Octavo stops laughing. He's... Insistent, isn't he? That alone makes him doubt his previous assertions... A thought that he quickly stamps down. Because if this man were telling the truth, then... He shakes his head.

"I don't know... The Master Sword's been long since lost... Unless you happen to have that in your back pocket!"

Another chuckle, but the look on "Link"'s face quickly quells his laughter.

"Let's see... You wouldn't happen to have anyone to vouch for you, would you?"

Aaaand there it is. Link's ears drop as the other starts. Laughing? He starts laughing. This is a new one. Looks like until he actually manages to find that sword that can destroy evil nobody will take him seriously… and he has his fair amount of douts that showing his scars will change anything, this time!

"But I am Link…" he grumbles, slightly hunched over. The temptation of asking Epona to run him over to make Mipha appear and prove his point his big, but held down by the hint of common sense still present in that odd head of his.

"How can I prove it?"

Not that it matters that much, but he wouldn't want to be seen as a liar!

"It's Link."

Octavo thinks he can smell the smoke his brain makes as it fries in his skull. For a good thirty seconds any thought process is shut down, and he can only manage to stare at Link.

"...Are you pulling my leg?" He asks. "You're pulling my leg. You shouldn't joke like that, nor should you impersonate the dead. It's-It's quite disrespectful!"

He slaps a head to his forehead and lets out a delirious laugh. Oh, this man is too much!

And there we go again...! It's been... a while since someone last noticed that little tablet on his belt. As awkward as introducing himself could be, sometimes - especially the times people didn't believe him to begin with, or said to his face that they expected the hero of legends to be taller, older and prettier - but he might as well explain that he isn't some thief or copycat.

Even if, again. He had to deal with both accusations and some copycats of his own himself.

"The Shrine of Ressurections." a pause "As far as I know."

And then he just. Lifts a hand. A silent wave.

"It's Link."

Octavo blinks as the stranger retrieves a strange device dangling from his hip and looks at it. Is that Shiekah technology? It must be. It has their seal stamped across the back, after all. And yet, this stranger doesn't seem to be a Shiekah...

...Suddenly Octavo realizes something. This man's face is definitely familiar. How though, he doesn't know. But still, he grips his lute tighter in case his hunch is right.

"That Shiekah Slate... Where did you get it?"

With a nod, Link is already about to go ahead and return to gallop away, when the stranger speaks up again. Hateno, Hateno… one could assume Link finally learned to remember his surroundings and remember at least how to get back to his own house when he's so close to it.

They would be wrong.

Grabbing the Sheikah's slate to give a quick look at the map, the young man looks around for a second, turning Epona with a small flick of his wrists.

"It should be… that way" he points behind him, looking up at the sky to quietly calculate the minutes before sundown as he jumps off of his horse, giving her a gentle pat on her neck "I can accompany you, if you'd like. It's not far away, but the woods nearby can be dangerous."

A sigh of relief rushes out of Octavo's mouth. It looks like the goddesses were taking a break from punishing him today. He nods to the stranger.

"I see, thank you. I really can't afford to run into anything else today," He sighs. "You're a blessing, really. But I don't suppose you know the way to Hateno Village? I really must get my lute repaired. It's very important that I do."

Epona lets out a patient neigh as she shares a look with her rider - the kind that's meant to be worried, but more often than not ended up read as judgmental instead.

"...there should be a stable right up ahead"

Better move on. Imply, rather than say out loud, that it's better if he stays somewhere safe for a while.

"There's a Moblin camp nearby, but they seem preoccupied hunting."

At least, from what he saw from the Tower. You never know with those guys. One second they run around trying to jump on a hog, the next you're getting chased by half a dozen of them!

Octavo whips his head around to face the voice. For this stranger, one look is all it takes to know that he's had a hell of a day: His fine suit is steeped in blue slime, his eyes have circles so dark they might be permanent, and all but one of the strings on the lute in his trembling hands have snapped. Laying on the ground in front of him is the gelatinous remains of a chuchu he had beaten to death moments before, still quivering a bit.

"I'm fine," He says with as much dignity as he can muster, which isn't a lot. "I can take care of myself."
