No Bi Gender Preference Decrease (a mod)

Okay, so long story long, this is how vanilla gameplay works: if a sim interacts romantically with another sim, their gender preference will increase with 2 towards the gender of the other sim, and it decreases with 1 towards the other gender. Which means if you have a sim who has positive gender preference towards both genders, but they keep interacting with only one gender (because they get into a relationship or something, it happens, right?), they eventually end up with negative gender preference for the other gender.

It was bugging me for ~years~ (because surprise, that’s not how bisexuality works), but I haven’t found any mod that fixes this? (or maybe I’m just blind that’s always a possibility, but I ended up taking the matter into my own hand, and came up with this lil mod)

So it does nothing else, but checks if a sim has positive gender preference for both genders, and in this case, their gender preference doesn’t decrease. Like ever. Which sounds good to me. It probably works the best if you pre-set your sims’ gender preference (with ACR or whatever).

Known conflicts: it does conflict with Pescado’s romancemod, so if you use it make sure this mod loads after the romancemod. Or you can open it and delete the Gender and Fitness Preference - Inc. line. I tried to understand what this part does in the romancemod, but it only affects the fitness preference part of it somehow? Is this even a thing? Is this used somewhere? I honestly have no idea, I’ve never heard of fitness preference in my life lol. Also, if you find other conflicting mods, please tell me, so I can add it to the list!

EDIT:

It turned out that ACR uses a separate gender preference adjusting bhav (why), and it’s also a semi global, so I had to edit the ACR-Controller-Main package to make it work… So if you use an edited version of ACR and you want it to work with it, you have to extract the Gender Preference - Adjust bhav and replace the one with the same name in your edited ACR-Controller-Main package. (I’m not going to make edits of all existing edits of ACR, sorry)

If you just use the general ACR V2, you can just download the edited ACR-Controller-Main from below and replace the one you have with it!

Clarification: You need both mods if you have ACR, the original mod for the ingame interactions and the ACR edit for the ACR interactions!

Hi Midge! First I want to thank you so, so much for all your amazing work! It has really rejuvenated my excitement for this game :D My question is: Do you think it’s possible to make a mod that lets you choose a baby’s last name, like the Marhis Last Name Chooser does during marriage? I used to think it was impossible, but seeing your Birth Options mod made me wonder if there’s hope. Thank you for reading and sorry if this is a dumb question!!

Baby Last Name Chooser

Now you’ll get an additional dialog per baby asking whose last name they should take! Compatible with Birth Options if it loads last.

UPDATE 1/25/20: Now compatible with Triplets & Quads if it loads after T&Q.

UPDATE 1/28/20: Some stuff got accidentally deleted in the previous update - I took the opportunity to rework a bit of this mod, so now you’ll only get one dialog per birth (all babies get the same last name - this change can be easily reverted if it matters to anyone but I figured this way would be less annoying).

UPDATE 2/24/20: Now compatible with name the father if it loads last. If you also have the latest update of my birth options mod you don’t even need the name the father hack, just the social plugin. Also, I reverted the new ‘once per birth’ rule so you can choose different last names for twins/triplets/quads, since the only person to provide feedback on the change said they preferred it that way and if it’s useful to some people that outweighs the small annoyance for others.

UPDATE 5/4/20: Now with polish translation courtesy of kundjej.

UPDATE 5/4/21: Fixed issue with name the father compatibility that caused this mod to not always properly find the name the father token.

Visitor Controller That Allows Toga Parties

I’m about to go set up a beta-testing page for my newer mod(s), but someone requested this of me and since it’s a small edit of an existing mod and it looks like it works in my game I’ll just put it here.

It’s TwoJeff’s visitor controller, now set up to allow sims to wear togas (or PJs) to toga parties!

UPDATE 12/15/18: Replaced it with @crispsandkerosene​‘s version with added options to ban sims based on personality, since that was requested and I figured there wasn’t a need to keep both versions.

UPDATE 12/16/18: Now with less lag when toga party attendees arrive.

UPDATE 12/16/18 2: Applied the same fix to TwoJeff’s Seasons/BV/Ft version, for those without Apartment Life.

UPDATE 1/12/19: The version compatible with AL has been updated so as to not conflict with Squinge’s “watch kids enabled” (previously, if you had both and got a sim to nanny for you on a residential lot the nanny might try and leave, causing an error). Have visitor controller load last.

UPDATE 1/14/19: Fixed a typo from the last update that was sometimes causing errors.

UPDATE 2/9/19: Now doesn’t force sims out of their work uniform, doesn’t ban the matchmaker NPC/gardening club members/Crumplebottom by default, and text strings have been edited to call the matchmaker NPC a matchmaker instead of using a slur.

There is a BCON named “Annoying NPC Group”. If you change the “# in group” to a value larger than 0 and add that many values following it, you can make the VC ban certain NPCs by default. The values (in hexadecimal) for different NPCs are:

1 = garden club member

2 = matchmaker

3 = crumplebottom

4 = newspaper delivery

5 = mail delivery

6 = professors

7 = cheerleaders

8 = cow mascots

9 = llama mascots

a = coaches

b = streakers

c = grand vampires

d = charlatan

e = head witches

UPDATE 2/17/19: There was some talk at MTS about the visitor controller making sims arrive at community lots dressed in their casual wear even if they left wearing something else, which led me to discover even more places where the visitor controller tried to change people’s clothing than I’d known about. Now I think I truly have them all, and if you don’t set a clothing preference for a lot sims’ clothing choices should be left alone by the Visitor Controller. You can go ahead and redownload, your VC settings will stay intact.

UPDATE 11/18/19: For whatever reason TwoJeffs didn’t add any room flags to the FT/BV version meaning it didn’t appear in the catalog on residential lots. This has now been fixed.

UPDATE 2/10/20: The visitor controller’s adjuster now is properly linked to its catalog description, and fixed how community lot tokens are set up so that all NPCs in the ‘annoying NPC group’ BCON will be properly banned from community lots by default as they are in residential lots, instead of sometimes just the last one in the list being banned.

UPDATE 4/25/21: Reworked how the mod checks for Inge’s colored keys. Should perform a lil better and hopefully fix issues with the visitor controller not recognizing key colors properly.

UPDATE 5/2/21: Fixed an issue with the check hobby flags BHAV that caused OTH-less sims to cause errors.

Mod: Random Stereo Station (A.K.A. I’m Sick of Salsa Music)

A mod that makes newly bought stereos choose a random station when being turned on for the first time instead of always choosing salsa.

Should also work with custom stereos.

Required mod: Smarter EP Check

Required EPs: None, though the more expansion packs you have, the more radio stations it can choose. Unfortunately, radio stations from Bon Voyage and Freetime are excluded since they work differently for some reason? You can always choose these stations manually if you want. The list of stations with their expansion pack can be found in the zip file.

Are you tired of the thirteen year old blue background image during the loading screen? Even if not, it‘s so old that it is way too small for todays screen resolutions and so I created completely new loading screens that were taken during the Sims 2 renaissance (2016-2017, colorized).

Features:

- sharp widescreen images for all common resolutions (even > 1920x1080) - new logo in TS3 style (is also being used in the neighborhood selection) - Ultimate Collection and base game versions

4t2 pastel pop kit: buy mode [download - sfs]

part 2 of my pastel pop kit conversions: the buy mode content, as requested by my friends on the simscord. i like this kit very much, it's so colorful and cute! 😊

this set contains 15 items from one of the latest sims 4 kits, pastel pop, plus a repo'd addon for the sofa. everything's been compressed and i added previews in the folders. you can find my previous (build mode) conversions from this kit here ~ !

the 'super smoothly satisfying sofa' is an addon to the 'smoothly satisfying sofa', HOWEVER, the latter is repo'd to the former, not the other way round!

AFBodySundress and TFBodySundress replaced with Rented-Space’s 3t2 conversion of Anubis’ Summer Breeze dress.

It comes in the colors shown above, is available as everyday only, and both ages have (mostly) appropriate morphs (the usual suspects are modeling their usual pregmorphs again). Since the outfits being replaced are shipped with the base game, you don’t need any EPs installed for them to function properly. That said, I have included the option to have this outfit for young adults when you download either the AF or UF replacements.

I got two separate requests for these, one requesting a teen replacement and one requesting an adult replacement.
