Yayyyyyyyyyy its the Starry Quintet lowkey I was hoping you'd ask abt them cuz they were the first that came to mind when I read that too LMAO I've dumped abt TEF and POE squads enough so abt time the spotlight shifted a little, anyways

When they get together, where is it they hang out?

Lowkey I always hced Arctic to work at a little candy shop esque place where she performs magic shows lmao it kinda doubles as a circus fair in a way, think Pinkie Pie and the Sugarcube Corner where she throws parties and all (her personality is very much vaguely based on hers), I somewhat hc Sundae to also work there cuz the two always reeked of candy makers (they're the only two of the team that are mildly candy themed which is ironic when considering Sparklyn makes pastries during her off time back at her home dimension) but yeah I can def imagine the group to go there and have it be their main place to hang out outside of work hours at the Beyond HQ, its kinda like their little default hideout spot where they're more like friends than colleagues and I just think its a nice touch that reflects their slightly more mundane sides

Is there something they all enjoy doing together? If so, what is it and who is best at it?

Again hanging out at the candy shop is alrdy a common activity so a lot of fun things™ are probably done there too, like mixing flavours and all that and taste tests (a part of me also feels like it's more of a dessert spot so there's probably cookies and ice cream too), Arctic probably knows a lotttt of little magic tricks that are ultimately useless in combat but rlly fun to play w (think common magic Cliff style but a tinge more advanced) so she probably also offers to teach some of them (in which Lune deems it an absolute waste of time but kinda swallows it regardless cuz it makes everyone else happy lmao) oh also tea parties..... Idk it's just a classic hangout thing..... Sparklyn would show up w her home grown tea leaves and everyone would be like ohhh my god this is so fragrant where'd you get it from and she'd be all oh idk bought it somewhere (mf doesn't talk abt her home dimension all that much it's nuts)

In terms of slightly more work related magic Lune is def the best at it being more of the veteran in the team, so I think they actually take part in a lot of pvp esque training fights, also I just thought abt Gale working at an animal creature shelter esque place (she is supposedly the owner of the team pet though I'll have to expand on how they met lol) so I think she'd actually call in the rest to help w the rescues occasionally (in which Lune is slightly more tolerable abt compared to the candy making cuz she's actually doing something beneficial lmao)

Who tends to argue most? Why?

Sundae and Lune ofc lmaooooooo the designated toxic yuri of the group, it just has so much to do w their differing ideologies on what it means to be a glowlin rlly (w Sundae making it her entire identity and Lune deeming it just another part time job to get by, that said Lune has soo much part time jobs ranging from working in a library/cafeteria/grocery store/flower shop, any of the mundane little ones, I wanna slap in a gag where the gang goes out for fast food and she is just casually serving them and they're all wtf u work here too? and she's oh I thought u guys rlly liked eating candy what's all this now lmao) anyways Sundae thinks that Lune never gives her all and doesn't actually care abt keeping the dimension safe (cuz lowkey she just wants to get the job done and leave it be cuz she's got much more to do) and Lune thinks Sundae is too naively enthusiastic that she'll end up overworking and burning out having her entire identity hinged on a savior complex <- they're so problematic/pos, but also just general day to day shenanigans rlly

Sundae is lowkey rlly competitive and thinks of herself highly (I don't talk abt this enough either but when she first joined she firmly believed that she was gonna be the leader of the team lmao cuz she thinks she's giving her allllll for the role, its just a fun ass attempt to subvert the pink magical girl being the leader trope, alas Aeris is so aware that her mildly pretentious but well meaning naivety is something to unlearn she never felt like she would be as good as a leader as she thinks, Sparklyn just has an aura of humbleness that Aeris sensed though she doesn't learn that she's from another dimension until much later lmao she only knows that her civilian form works a rather low profile job as a pastry baker + collecting and selling forest resources (think foraging basically)

Sundae doesn't exactly dislike Sparklyn for having the role but a part of her would trade for it in a heartbeat if she ever wants to give it up, I think there's always this tinge of envy that she had in the beginning when they don't know each other well but eventually she does grow fond of her and the beef just kinda dilutes along the way lmao, and also she's such a hopeless romantic and is lowkey wanting a more prominent role just to get Chase's attention <- in which Lune is mildly pissed abt half *oh he's actually rlly sus* and half *why is she so obsessed w some guy* <- sapphic denial but she doesn't know it yet

But yeah she's such an interesting char to me, idk if EI will ever have a main four the way the other main stories do I'm still tweaking a lot of plot points and finding ways to categorize these damn stories, but in my head if it does Sundae def gets a spot alongside Chase, but alas sometimes I think the main four formula gets a little old sometimes when the story doesn't call for it I'll see how this goes lmao

^ this is somewhattt in their youth but also not exactly (think that fun window of post graduation dance and beginning their own careers whilst also attempting to still be involved in each other's lives, alas this is before I even planned the entire Tundra fake death deal so I actually have no idea whether this is before or after that, date in this sense is wholly platonic and Aeris started the idea lol

(I would love to point out how Barley is more fazed over it being a *coffee* date than a coffee *date*, like oh my best friend wants to catch up w me and has invited me to hang out w her on a scheduled time? 🥰 But also wtf Aeri you don't drink coffee 😒 you think I don't know that)

Plot points I'm juggling:

Idk man so much fucking patchnotes for EI lately I think I've ranted to you enough lmaooooo, these days I'm kinda trying to settle whether its gonna end up as a supposed tertiary story tbh, alongside possibly finding another way to categorize my damn stories for once, TEF and POE are very solid in comparison so I'm very ??? on the direction rlly

I do know she is supposedly the one who Aeris deems to most resemble her in terms of that raw passion™ (you'd think Sundae fits it better but Aeris is actually so aware of her whole thing abt Chase lmao and a part of her is too full of herself to be the leader.... Lune isn't as passionate ofc... Arctic is having way too much fun and Gale is due for a confidence boost ... if anything Sparklyn is the perfect "replacement" for having a tinge of humbleness whilst not being afraid of taking the job seriously, but it also has so much to do w her being from the other dimension and idk when Aeris will eventually figure that out, her origins of humbleness is sorta what sets her apart... She is not exactly destined for greatness the way Chase is...)

Idk whether to call it a suicide fakeout cuz to everyone Tundra dying was her sacrifice from protecting the realm... and very much not self induced... And then she doesn't die anyway she just pretends that she is gone... Barley is very well aware of all this... I think even at the end of the story Sparklyn and Chase are the only ones that find out abt her true identity... If anyone else rllyyyy had to know then maybe Lune but she's the kind to find out and never tell anyone lmao I don't think even Aeris knows of this but she can also sense it w the sudden respect Lune has for her that she previously never had (like Lune does respect Aeris but then they often also buttheads cuz their personalities and motifs are so diff, but Aeris has been in the supposed industry for so long she can never hold it against a youngster who's just trying to survive)

Cut plot points

Idk man EI isn't that developed to have that much cut plot points but so far its probably to make Chase more or a solo hero instead of the initial idea of having him have a team... (Bonus w Nimble being a lil sidekick but their bond is fleshed out enough for me to bother writing them in) Cuz I thought him being Aeris' replacement made more sense if he were to shoulder everything himself, also as an excuse to pretty much reduce the character count lmao I didn't wanna add too much to the point they end up unexplored (a lot of POE chars suffer from this unfortunately and it's something I'm trying to fix as of late, TEF has a more solidified cast where everyone has some sort of relevance and I'm trying to do the same w EI here), in fact a lot of the chars in SF and SD are very underdeveloped lmao whilst TSIAS suffers from a chronically low character count of just six... I need more plot points rlly (I do have something brewing in my head as of late but I'm too EI brainrotted latey to expand on it)

Anyways for Aeris... Very much her whole deal of being put on a pedestal and given a large role to fulfill before ultimately wanting to step down from it to have a life of her own (its somewhat like a wish fulfillment for me in a way LMAO) (and in some sense Sparklyn wanting that for herself is rlly funny cuz she was a self insert)

Also I've talked abt this but being aspec is what I slapped onto her too the same way I did for Jingle LMAO but I also rlly wanna go into detail abt the specific flavour of it, a lot of her dissonance comes w having gained that much attention in her life that has never came across as genuine, ppl know her for what she does but never rlly her as a person (this same trait is also reflected in Jingle) so when someone expresses genuine attention to her a part of her can't seem to reconcile w it in her head (alongside just not rlly being able to differentiate diff kinds of attraction rlly, like am I fond of someone because they're a friend or is there anything deeper beyond that) alas there's more layers to this rlly

Another would probs just be her being a workaholic that shoulders everything tbh LMAO give this woman a fucking break, she's very used to have a leader position and have ppl look up to her and thinking everything is her responsibility, like wow I have to do everything around here!!!!!!!!!! When can someone do something for me for once!!!!!!!!!! <- deranged but literally a while ago I was just thinking abt how her being used to lead a team also makes her have this sorta mild control freak behavior either in the funny way (like wanting everyone to participate in her lame frivolous hobbies) but also mf is also very *now get back to work* core lmao

Something not in common, probs her age rlly lmao but not just physically but in terms of her maturity tbh, I think in a way she's the old eccentric freak™ that I strive to become but aren't exactly *there* yet (which is why having Sparklyn have this role of wanting it for herself rlly funny), she's seen a lotta shit and has lived long enough to process and reconcile what she has gone through and is very content w her current life, mf is freely a freak rlly lmao

Another is probs her being the least cowardly of the entire organization rlly LMAO I'm too much of a lame ass to be like that, aside from that she's also just casually a journalist for the hero society in the bg and would just casually barge to a crime site w eldritch horrors and yap abt it as disaster happens (but this also has a lot to do w her having fought unimaginable horrors back in her magical girl days she's just unphased atp but to the average citizen who doesn't know shit fucks abt her previous identity they all think she's unhinged lmao)

And then her confidence probably, idk I'm just stretching atp cuz I'm running out of ideas lmao I won't say I'm not confident in my abilities (am I??? Anyways mf is a math genius™ IN WHICH I AM NOT (haha never beating the I suck at math allegations I'm not even that bad I just hate doing it) he's just casually a living calculator though (this reminds me Aeris sucks ass at math she's more of a words lady) and is probably also very passionate abt it

I think he's also a lot more passive in personality rlly (as opposed to Aeris being a bit more assertive) alas I can't tell which one I am but I still think I'm more of an Aeris mf lmao, but also Barley just reeks of more of a calm attitude rlly... Which is ironic in hindsight given how much of a nervous wreck he usually is, but like when Aeris is a lil shit abt a thing he's the one that has to ground her lmao, also when she worries abt a thing he's the first to reassure her

Idk how to describe it rlly, its like Aeris being a leader workaholic leads to this ironic scenario where she is usually the assertive one but control freak enough that she can be unhinged abt it, whilst Barley more so having a follower attitude that is passive and cowardly but ironically more calm than she is cuz he doesn't have that grand responsibility like she does, he overthinks but also goes w the flow more than she does, she is reckless but also deranged when it doesn't go her way, wow they truly match each other's freak......

Def their eyes actually, I think it's kinda meant to stand out from their design that Lio has orange fur and the only trait that contrasts the rest is their eyes being emerald green, they actively choose clothing that matches said trait (def me finding an excuse for my own design choices lmao) it's also something that Jingle particularly finds very charming and I'm tempted to think he complimented it once and led Lio to also find them nice looking lmao

Does your character have a favorite material they like to wear?

Cotton,,, long sleeves,,, sweatshirts,,, literally what I wear myself lmaooo I think clothing preference wise Lio wears the most similar to my own day to day lazy outfits minus the cloak and the boots, compared to a lot of my other blorbo outfits tbh, Lio rlly just got that cozy autumn vibe, ironically they don't rlly wear silk aside from during special occasions even if their mom makes a ton of outfits w silk cloth, Jingle is a silk wearer though

Yuh lol goes in line w the emerald eyes thing rlly, even if their main colour is supposedly orange they wear quite a lot of green, occasionally light orange that resembles gold, glowly firefly/wheat field colours

Post arc Lio is def someone who's a lot more willing but during the arc itself they're def a coward lmaooo, but also the irony is nobody else during the journey is even remotely concerned over all the illegal bs they're doing they kinda just gave up trying to ask everyone to do shit sensibly give them a damn break lmao, I think at some point they def stand their ground though and it sorta happens post S1 finale when they officially rebelled against the agency but that's a thing for another day

Ngl Jingle is already extremely confident in pulling off every outfit ever they will barely take it as an insult but rather a challenge, like oh you don't think I'm hot enough already, he's not afraid to wear something more revealing than they already do lmao, again he likes wearing silk/laces/something flowy, so def a dress of some sort, bonus if see through and figure hugging lmao, also a dramatic mf so he's def wearing something very extravagant + flowers in his hair, but also, he firmly believes that half of his attractiveness is from his confidence and charisma than the outfit itself lol

What are your character's opinion on scars?

Lmaooo this one's dark in the good way, though I feel like I also ramble abt this often cuz it's a very prominent post arc hc where Jingle does have a scar across his neck from the Cygnus drown, I think it did take him a while for him to reconcile w it less abt it ruining how he looks but rather as a reminder of how far strayed he's gone to serve Corondale, actually this makes me tempted to think he's gonna get some sort of tattoo equivalent (basically fur dyes in universe) of flowers growing along it like blooming from cracks of the ground as a reminder of new beginnings, that's for his own scar though

As for Lio's scar on their back that he caused himself I don't think he ever forgives himself fully for that even if Lio always tells him it's in the past now and that he was in a dire situation to activate the portal, though he def kisses it a lot to reassure Lio that he's never going to hurt them again (they make me sick), this is to say Lio also kisses Jingle's scar quite often (bonus that neck kisses are Jingle's fav spot)

Scars in general though it's not that big of a deal tbh esp as a former explorer trainee, I think he got them quite often rlly, in fact as someone who worked in the kitchen since childhood he probably has a fair share of scars from accidental knife cuts or burn scars, you may be tempted to think Jingle's hands are very delicate but w all these said I'd think they're pretty calloused and he's probably used to it, let alone as a common fire user

I'd like to think during TEF it's meant to be deceiving tbh, cuz the whole gist is that he puts on a tough nonchalant front lmao but then it's also an outfit that he already enjoys wearing cuz it makes him look purposefully charismatic, it's telling in the sense that he's not deceiving anyone abt his fashion sense but deceiving in the sense that he's definitely hiding how "softhearted" he actually is, post arc Jingle def wears a lot more casual clothing and dresses and leaves his hair down but I already talked abt this quite a lot lol

Is there an item your character is embarrassed they own or want?

I don't think he rlly owns anything he finds embarrassing cuz he's very blantant abt the stuff he likes to wear lmao and he generally owns a shit load of kitchen appliances, but he's def someone that unironically desires cheesy ass gifts like flowers and chocolate boxes or love letters or more cute stuff to wear (basically cliche romantic gesture gifts) and this is something he is almost always embarrassed to ask abt or receive but the kicker is like, he's only embarrassed abt it if it's from Lio LMAO

Cuz like I think in his youth he was pretty popular given his charisma, literally the prince charming™ archetype that gets a shit load of fans and has probably well received a lot of those things in whatever in universe equivalent of valentine's day, I actually have an entire half written thing of his convo w Lio abt this ordeal and how he never actually likes the stuff he receives cuz he knows there's not much heart for it, until he realizes he actually does like receiving gifts when there's thought put behind it lmao one of his main love languages is gift giving atp, it's one of the tinier hints when he was younger that he was mildly crushing on Lio too cuz he didn't feel the same way receiving it from anyone else lmao

Who would your character first seek if they needed medical help?

Okay this is interesting cuz post arc Jingle def suffers from a lot of health issues lmaoooo, my first instinct is Truffs cuz he's one of the only close friends he has that has healing magic but Mallow is actually the one w more powerful healing magic, I'd think they help him a lot in soothing pain cuz I hc him still occasionally suffering from pain in the limbs and difficulty breathing, there's probably a load of side effects ngl cuz it's not just water but an extremely magically concentrated elixir though I never rlly digged deep into it cuz a lot of it is post arc stuff, on second thought Truffs easing Jingle to breathe better w his supposedly dark ability to control in body airways is some sort of nice full circle lol, actual serious medical treatment though is probably done in Mt. Kimoru by professionals, I'd like to think Lio takes him for check-ups often esp the first couple months post arc tbh

Def def def def def his wide toothy smile actually that's like his most iconic™ trait I draw him w that default Truffs smile all the time, it's the first thing Lio remembers abt him and the same probably goes for everyone else ever lmao

Anything that restricts them too much I think, cuz Truffs is someone that rlly likes going out and do things and explore around and doesn't mind getting dirty in the mud lol so rlly fancy looking things on a daily basis is a no go, this also plays a lot into him rejecting to be associated w his royal bloodline tbh, he doesn't want to look like some equivalent of a king when he's out and about and tbh even the most fancy of events is gonna lead him to still wear something quite casual lmao, my guy just wears whatever's comfortable and free and isn't one that likes to be extragavant or fashionable like Jingle and Rei, that's how I see it in my head anyway

Def deceiving tbh lol, it's literally so disconnected from his true origin literally nobody can tell unless he actively tells anyone abt it (in which he doesn't for a shit while lmao even if he did it wasn't even because he wanted to), it's the only thing he ever takes seriously throughout his entire arc in the story tbh, being as unsuspectable as possible but alas he occasionally still slips up, what he wears is not one of them though

Given that previous Truffs hobby rant and tangent abt scrapbooks I think you can tell he's def someone that very values handcrafted/personalized gifts, it doesn't even have to look nice the scrappier the better actually cuz then he can add it into his already scrappy looking scrapbooks lmao, also anything to add to his collection tbh, give him a rock and you're friends for life he's very easy to please lol

Are there particular sounds your character is fond of?

Ngl as I ruminated over this I came down to it being Toffee's snoring tbh, I think they probably napped together a lot when they were younger (still do cuz giant Toffee is a large fluffy bed), it's probably something that soothed him and also hints at Toffee getting enough rest for next day's exploring so it's something that he is esp fond of

How much interest does your character take in trends?

I think Rei in hs was def someone that rlly wanted to fit in tbh lmao esp as one of the kids that has affiliations w a rich ass family like tree fam, though I don't think her fashion sense changed much even well into adulthood, she still likes wearing accessories and bows and skirts and cardigans and fluffy boots, and crystals ofc, ngl the more I think abt it the more I also don't know what are the supposed clothing trends in universe anyway lmao, though Rei def has a lot more of a rebellious edge to her post the Eternal, I'd think she looked quite prissy and prim when she was younger, as she grew older she probably just liked to wear whatever she wanted regardless of what anyone told her she should wear lol

Def something sweet tbh, I think Rei is someone that uses perfume a lot lmao but probably rlly hates the floral smelling ones cuz they smell too heavy to the point of pungently bitter (can you tell how much she hates bitter scents/tastes given her hatred for coffee and alcohol lmao) though funnily enough I never actually have any scents for her in my head (Lio is citrus and Jingle is peach in my head) though old ass notes in my drafts writes Truffs as ocean breeze and Rei as milktea so do what you will w this info even if it's obviously written for aesthetic purposes™

Again probably just the outfit that I usually draw her in lmaoo, but style wise if I rlly had to describe just overall cutesy looking, she's big on attempting to look innocuous and harmless and sweet looking then whips out her scythe like a maniac lmao, but she's also not even intentionally trying to deceive you cuz it's just what she genuinely likes to wear, alongside accessories that is, remind me again I need to draw an outfit exploration page w Jingle and Rei in a fashion magazine ass format

Rei is def a notorious overspender tbh lmao she's the kind to buy everything on sight from boba tea to cute outfits and more jewelry just spoiled brst syndrome tbh, but probably also have a lot to do w her upbringing growing up amongst the rich ass tree fam that probably gave her everything she wanted, I always hced that Jun has to metaphorically keep her on a leash during shopping trips or else they're going broke fr lmao, also ofc Jun is the one carrying all the bags, also she loves shopping for new outfits w Jingle they're fashion buddies

I think I've talked abt the milktea thing a shit load I should probably come up w something new lmaoooo, though I think having connections w the tree fam she probably grew up eating good food tbh, funnily enough this reminds me she's probably also an extremely picky eater (but that's also obvious lmao), genuinely can't come up w anything but the milktea for the sole fact that it's something supposedly simple amidst all the fancy ass food she's used to having, it's supposed to be some sorta shorthand to her just being a child that even if she was spoiled a part of her still mostly enjoyed the simple things that brought her comfort, not to mention the whole Birch connection I rambled abt a while ago but that's a whole other thing, alas not answering your question at all but at least you got bonus milktea lore

What are your character's opinion on scars?

Mf has a shit load of scars as everyone knows lmaoooo, though again I've rambled plenty so I just feel like I'm gonna end up repeating what you already know tbh, overall the kind to flaunt it except the one time he always died from it lmao, tldr it's no big deal until it is a big deal, he flaunts the ones where he succeeds and hides the ones where he fails, it either reminds him of a heroic deed or how he will never get to be the hero ever again

Though on others he's def a lot more concerned and protective, esp Rei tbh, ironically enough he actually does occasionally scold her over it even if he's also the one the encourages them to do things like he does lmaooooo, it's the same as every other youngster he takes in, basically encouraging them to follow his lead until they also follow his negative traits and starts to tell them off for it, this is one of the few things that lead to the fallout between him and the rest of the crew when Rei got eventually fed up lmao cuz he'd be concerned over everyone but himself

Oak

What are your character's opinion on scars?

Funnily enough I don't think Oak himself has a lot of scars seeing as he's in his office all high and mighty all the time lmaoooo, it's a very last resort thing for the literal agency lead to come out and also fight on the field, cuz usually he'd tell those under him to get the job done, that is until it is dire enough for him to step up, his main magic is defense rather than offense and he's particularly strong in that regard so, there's almost very slim moments of him actually getting hurt himself, not to mention his law abiding ass never once used wild magic, mf got more paper cuts from all the paper work if anything lmaoooo

On others he's def also very protective over it, more so than Orion that is cuz Orion is occasionally being too much of a hypocrite to even notice it all the time it literally took Rei telling him off for him to realize how flawed his logic is lmao, Oak is ofc no nonsense when it comes to this and will angrily help you patch up but then actually just means well, I think in some sense seeing someone get hurt will always make him feel like he's partly responsible for it even if he never admits it, it's the oldest brother instinct alongside running the agency where there's oftentimes cases where ppl get injured or straight up die in their missions, he seems stoic and used to it but also blames himself over it tbh

On a lighthearted note also kisses Orion all over (can you tell my fav trope) and I'd think Orion jokes abt how he doesn't get to kiss him back cuz how little scars he has aside from what? Papercuts? He's kissing those too
