for my baldur's gate verse ... i have a cool idea ?? rapunzel's tower is in the shadow - cursed lands , & she is a recruitable companion during act 2 . she can be found singing in her tower a short ways off the path . if your party DOES NOT find the tower before entering last light inn , rapunzel will no longer be there . rather , she can be found in the putrid bog with her hair cut short by gothel . missing or passing the tower will cost the party her hair's healing properties .

hastily does she spin , indents left in the window seat where knees had been pressed . frighten her as the little voice had , rapunzel is beaming from ear to ear — ever joyful to find herself with company . ( it gets terribly lonely , up here . to see the world yet not quite be able to reach it is a woeful existence . in tinker bell , you've found a companionship that transcends the height of this tower . ) grin breaks only for elated words to spill forth , ❛ ❛ stars , tink — you scared me ! ❜ ❜ even so , princess is rushing from her seat & towards the beautiful fairy sitting atop an eye - level bookshelf . ❛ ❛ mother has gone , she surprised me with some lovely herbs ( ... ) the rosemary is wonderful for bread . if you'll only keep me company while i bake , i could be persuaded to share . ❜ ❜

one thing abt rapunzel ... loneliness & isolation have been her life for so long that they have made a home in her body. she recedes into this structure when things feel unsure or out of control. even in a crowded room rapunzel will have this knot of loneliness deep in her body, because even surrounded by people — she still doesn't know how to interact with them. however, she is an extrovert, & this often supersedes concerns about how she's viewed. she goes with her authentic self, unconcerned with her lack of knowledge or experience of the outside world. she'll still light up a tavern with her joy or fall in love spontaneously & it's all a salve to her soul.
