Eli smiled, as they walked into the coffee shop, “That actually sounds amazing, I like sweet stuff as well. I was going to get me a vanilla bean frappachino myself.” He chuckled, and headed to the counter, but stopped hearing her last comment, “You don’t need to be skinny, you look perfect just the size you are. You don’t have to change a thing.” He smiled, “You could find the table, and I will get our drinks.” He smiled.

“You have a sweet tooth, too?” Liv looked at the man with a raised brow and smiled at him. How weird was it that they had so many things in common? “A Vanilla Bean Frappuccino sounds delicious too but I’ll stick to my Caramel Latte.” She smiled and was going to find a table for them when she heard what he said. Her cheeks felt warm and she smiled. “Thanks.” She simply said, not knowing what else to say before going for the first empty table.

“Not that impressive, but I love what I do.” Justine giggled and nodded, “It’s fine, I will just have to get my engineer to do most of that work, but as long as I can still talk, I think I will be alright.” She laughed, at his comment, “I don’t think I have to pay anyone to do that, but the radio station for sure.”

“I would like to hope so. No one just decides to be a DJ if they didn’t love it.” Eric said. Was he flirting? It sounded like it... “Put your Engineer to work then. It’ll be even better in my book. Plus, I’m sure the station you work for would appreciate you not spending more of their money.” He laughed.

“And as much as she tries to fight me on it, I think she knows that It’s all because I love her, and care about her very much.” He nodded, “Yes, it is a lot of crazy people out in the world, and I’ll be damned if I let something happen to her, and I am all the way across the world.” He was so serious about that, but he needed to relax a little. He nodded, “Yeah I would say so, I think we get it from my dad. And that is something else she got from my dad, they love their cars.”

“I’m sure she knows that.” Axel said, nodding his head. “Well, if she’s alone here, I would understand you being worried. But Verona is a pretty nice city with low crime rates, I doubt you have to be very vigilant.” He added trying to talk up his city. “Ahh... I was wondering how you ended up being an Architect and why she chose to be a Mechanic. I understand now. She sounds like a wonderful woman. Your dad too.”

Justine was in a bit of pain, but it didn’t stop her from noticing how hot her doctor was. That smile was melt worthy, and she needed to not focus on that, but on her arm. “I am a radio dj, and it is a lot of buttons to push.” She smiled, and trying to think about 

“A DJ. That’s impressive.” Eric said, agreeing with her that it would be tough for her to do her job. “I’d imagined that you’d have a hard time with pushing buttons, but maybe while you’re healing, they could hire someone to do that job for you? A designated button pusher.” He let out a laugh after that, knowing how ridiculous that just sounded.

Eli was even more excited to hear that Liv had a good time with him. He was never self conscious about his skills before, but after the divorce, he second guessed himself a lot, but now that he got this confirmation from Liv, he felt a little better. “I an so glad to hear you say that.” He started to relax a bit more, “It was nothing, but I really did hope you said yes.” He watched as she got up, “Yes, let’s get out of here.” He led her out to the coffee shop down the street, “What are you drinking?”

Liv almost wanted to say, she couldn’t say no to his face, but left it unsaid. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt his feelings. He was too kind for anyone to treat him badly. They walked out of her office together and headed towards the nearest coffee shop. “I’ll have a Caramel Latte please.” She answered him with a smile. “I love sweet things. I know it’s bad for me, but I can’t help myself.--Maybe that’s why I can never be skinny.”

Justine didn’t want to think about being in a cast, but it seemed more and more inevitable at this point. “It is definitely going to make working a bit more difficult, but I will manage.” She smiled at him, “I’m Justine, pleasure to meet you.”

“It’s very nice to meet you, Justine.” Eric smiled at the petite blonde. “--You mentioned work being difficult. What is it that you do?” He’d imagined that any work she did would be hard to do with a cast, but for some reason, he just felt the need to talk to her a little more.

Cooper nodded, “Yes! That’s what I was trying to tell her, but of course she doesn’t believe me.” He knew he was beyond ridiculous right now, because he could smother Charlie from time to time, but he wasn’t going to admit that. “She is very stubborn, but she gets it naturally. My family is stubborn. No, not a student, she is a mechanic.”

“Ahh... I understand now why she would think that. But honestly, if I had a younger sister, I would want to protect her. You don’t know what kind of creeps are lurking out there. Not that I’m saying there are many creepers in Verona. Just in general, I mean.” Axel laughed, shaking his head. “So it’s a family trait to be stubborn. Naturally she would be stubborn here too. But wow, she’s a Mechanic. That’s impressive.”

Eli chuckled and shook his head, “I hope so…I had a lot of fun with you.” He was trying to let Liv know how he felt, without seeming so clingy. She was a mystery to him, and he wanted to know more, but he didn’t know if she was interested in him. He smiled, “Coffee will work for me, but I cleared my afternoon, hoping you would say yes.” He smirked.

“I had fun too.” Liv couldn’t lie about that, not when Eli had shown her such a great time. Just the thought of that night sent tingles up and down her skin. She shook the thoughts away. This was definitely not the time for that. “You did that just for me? That’s very sweet of you. Since that’s the case, I guess I’ll have to free myself for you too.” She winked and stood up from her desk, grabbing her purse. “Should we go now?”

Justine didn’t like hearing the doctor wince, she knew it sounded bad, because it was bad, “It was very painful, hence me being here now.” Her arm was starting to hurt more and more, and when he suggested the x-ray, and said it could be a fracture, “That’s not good….” She sighed again.

Eric then quickly paged to get the blonde’s X-Ray done as soon as possible. “You’ll be fine. I know that a cast is not what someone wants, but I’m betting you’ll get out of it before long.” He said gently, trying to calm her nerves. “By the way I’m Doctor Frazier. You are?”

Cooper couldn’t help but laugh at that comment, “I don’t know about that, my sister might say I’m overprotective. But I can’t turn off my worrying about her, so I needed to be here, and your offer was the perfect timing.” He wanted Charlie to like him being there, but if not, then oh well, he was there now.

“But that’s what older brother’s are for, right?” Axel asked, laughing. “You sister sounds like she’s stubborn. What does she do here? She’s not in University, is she? If she is then, I understand why she might not want you around.”

Eli could look into Liv’s eyes, and knew she was being sincere, and that made him feel amazing. “Well hearing you say that means a lot, and I don’t know if I got my groove completely, but it was a great start.” He smiled, “Um, do you maybe have time for coffee, or even dinner?”

“If you haven’t, I’m sure you will soon.” Liv truly believed that. It wasn’t like he was bad in bed. Any woman would be lucky to have him. Too bad she wasn’t into commitment though, or she’d be all over him. His request had her brow raising. “--I could go for coffee, but don’t you have work to do? I thought you’re a busy man.”

Justine sighed when she had to explain what happened, “Me, being silly, and rushing. I was trying to get to work, and I was running out of my house, and slipped on my rug, fell and hit my wrist on the edge of the coffee table.” She hissed when he hit the spot that hurt, “Ow…right there.”

Eric nodded away as he continued to examine the petite blonde’s arm. The way she described the incident made him wince, he could already picture it happening. “That sounds like it’s painful.” When she yelped, he stopped and placed her arm down gently. “It sounds like a fracture. We should do an X-Ray just to be sure.”

Cooper nodded, “I do, and I wanted to be close to her, and the place you got for me is close to her apartment, so I am very happy about that. I would like to think that she is happy that I’m here.” 

“You’re a good big brother.” Axel returned genuinely. “I don’t know anything about being a brother since I’m an only child, but if I had a brother, I would want them to care about me, like you do your sister.”

Eli gave Liv a warm smile, knowing that he knew how he felt about being interrupted at work, but he didn’t know where she lived, and so this was the only place he could see her. Thankfully she seemed okay by his visit, “Actually, I just came to see you, and let you know that I had a great time the other night, and I wanted to thank you for not treating me like a broken man.” 

Liv relaxed her features immediately and smiled warmly at Eli when she heard his comment. “Don’t mention it and to be clear, I never thought of you as broken. You just needed to get back into the groove and I was happy to be of assistance.” Her words were genuine, because despite her hesitance to get into a relationship, she did like helping people.

Justine giggled, knowing she was jumping the gun just a little, “I guess I figured they did all that when they were checking me out at first, but I’ll be quiet and let you do your job.” She blushed, feeling a bit embarrassed. 

Eric was smiling as he went to take his seat next to the examination bed. “Can you tell me what you did?” He asked as he blew on his hands to warm them up before touching the blonde. “Tell me when it hurts.” He instructed as he went about his examination.

Cooper nodded , and took a seat across from Axel, “You have, and I love the place, thank you so much for your hospitality.” He was easy to please, all he wanted to was to be close to Charlie, and he was, so he was happy.

“I’m happy to hear it. Didn’t you say you had a sibling living in Verona. How are they doing? I bet they’re happy to have their brother around.” Axel didn’t have a sibling of his own, but if he did, he would want to keep in close contact with them.

Eli felt strange for barging in there, but he was there now, so there was no turning back now. “I’ve been busy, but nothing I can’t handle. I do hope I didn’t catch you at a bad time.” He just wanted to see her again, and see if she had a good time.

“Ahh...” Liv smiled, still feeling awkward as hell. All the men she’d slept with knew that she didn’t like to be disturbed while she was at work, and normally, she would tell them to leave, and yet, she couldn’t do that to Eli. “No, I was just doing some paperwork. Can I help you with something?”
