New York was a chaos. Well... nothing new on this. Citizens were used to every now and then being threatened by aliens, or mad scientists, or even super powered organised crime. Jessica didn’t care for all of that stuff, as far as this would keep her phone ringing. And she had been with her hands full lately. Everyone in the city had someone who wanted to find. And that was great for business. The hard part was keeping her record (and consciousnesses) clean, with the latest brake out from the correctional facility she was forced to make some background check on her clients. That’s why she was on top of that building in the middle of the night with a camera. Not for the creepy stuff. Just business. But every since the last craziness, everyone wanted to be a hero. So the footsteps behind here didn’t even surprise the lady all that much.

“This ain’t what it looks like.” she said not even daring to look backwards, preferring to take a few pictures. She didn’t want to see whoever crazy powers spandex person was going to give her a hard time doing her job on that night.

Jessica would usually prefer working alone, she wasn’t much of the ‘team work stuff’. She didn’t know how the lady had got on that exact ally of the city, but it didn’t take the P.I. much long to realise that they were both there for the same reason: take a gang down. 

“Look, sugar, I’d rather do this alone. I’ve already got this.” Jessica knocks down the steel door with a kick, ready to throw some punches, what she didn’t expect was that since Natasha had been following one of them, they well prepared. Bullets started being shot from the inside of the building, and Jessica almost got shot, she finds shield behind a wall. “Oh, shit.”

it’s an odd situation natasha finds herself in. then again, she can’t remember the last time she was in a normal situation.  she’s just finished detaining one inmate and with some persuasion from him got intel of where a group is heading. without hesitation she begins running as the group is a few blocks down. when she get’s closer is when she’ll slow down and use her stealth skills.

turning back into the black widow after everything seemed like an impossible task for her. but, she’s done it with ease now. and natasha’s not sure whether it’s frightening or a relief. she stops running when she sees someone who looks like an ally. “ hey—-” the russian calls out. “ wanna give me a hand. i got a lead on these guys. “ sure, she’d have no problem taking them down herself. however, everyone could use a little help.

“didn’t look like you did,” peter replied with a shrug of his shoulders. as he noticed her begin to pick him up, he frowned. webs shot out to wrap around the man, pulling him out of her grip and back towards peter. “look, ma’am, i get you might know this guy – but he escaped from rykers. he needs to go back there. i don’t know where you planned on taking him, but he’s gonna have to stay with me til the cops get here. i’m sorry, this isn’t really up for discussion.” he was both an avenger and a friendly neighborhood spider-man, and escaped inmates posed a threat to the residents of new york, which was a cause for concern for both. “who are you, anyway?”

“Hey!” she objected as he pulled the man away from him. “That’s where I am taking him. Right after he says sorry to his mama. This guy almost gave her a heart attack. I think that’s the least he could do, right?”

She stepped forward, considering getting the convict away from the nuts on spandex, but that icky thing around him made the P.I. think twice before doing so.

“I it meters is that I am the one who is taking him to the police station, I can grantee that, and I believe it would be much more pleasant for both of us with you were on my side on this.

“I had him asshole.” Jessica looked at Mrs. Francis’s son knocked down. Damn it, now she would have to carry him to his worried mother. They didn’t have much money, but Jessica feared that if her neighbour’s son was caught busting out, she might have a heart attack, and if she had a heart attack, there would be another tenant living next to her. Maybe someone who was not as understandable about Jessica’s habits as Mrs. Francis was. So there she was working basically for free getting the boy out of trouble. The P.I. knelt down and took the young man from the ground as if it was a piece of paper, carrying him behind her back.

“hey!” peter exclaimed as he spotted an escaped inmate approaching someone, a baton in their hand, ready to attack. “you’ve been out for what? five minutes? and you’re already going back to your old habits?” he clicked his tongue as he approached. “really, i’m disappointed.” he added before he flung himself towards the inmate, his feet colliding with their face. once the inmate was down, peter sighed, turning to face the other person. “hey, are you alright? gotta be careful around here. it’s more dangerous than usual with the inmates escaping.”

Jessica has been busy for the five couple of years. With the world falling a part, people had questions, and Alias Investigations had many answers. Now, people are back, and Jessica wonders if she has done more harm them good. Only time will tell.

WHAT HAS YOUR CHARACTER LEARNED IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE DECIMATION AND THE DEFEAT OF THANOS?

Humanity sucks and it didn’t deserve to be safe. Or so she thought. After Thanos, she wasn’t so sure anymore. Humanity always finds a way to survive, even in face of such horrendous events. Maybe, she was glad they were saved after all. Maybe.

Jessica is most self-centred. She will deny involvement in any big plot to save the world. However, when people she loves is put in danger, she will get into action

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Since this is mostly MCU based I will play Jessica mostly base on her Netflix series and The Defenders mini-series. However, I’m will often bring up events from the comics to light to fill up her gaps. Specially considering Alias 2001 by Bendis. Since we don’t have yet a Luke around, I will stick to the Netflix series regarding their relationship for now, but if we ever get a Luke I would be happy to consider bringing up Danielle to life <3
