               someone?  how can they be expected to pick one person when dozens come to mind in an instant?  so many people who have changed their life - shown them love and compassion when they felt the least deserved it and cheered them on when they thought exhaustion might cause their legs to collapse out from beneath them.  people are the reason they fought past every reason.  people are the reason they stood every time they fell.  people are the reason they continued to fight even now, when their soul screamed for rest. 

              saria, who had been their friend when they hadn’t anyone else.  zelda, whose smile still gives them courage and whose wisdom is as deep and vast as lake hylia.  impa, who gave them guidance when they felt lost.  malon, who gave them a place to rest.  darunia, who showed them family could be chosen.  ruto, who showed them love could thrive in any situation.  nabooru, who showed them not only the importance of fighting for what’s right but the delight in it.  tatl and tael.  romani and cremia.  anju and kafei.  the souls that they had guided to rest and their loved ones that found solace in their existence.  a final chance to say goodbye.  and...

              and navi, who had been with them almost every step of the way.  who had never once wavered.  who accepted and loved them without question and without fail.  who taught them to read, to laugh, to sing.  who taught them the joy that could be found in others.  who taught them that there is bravery in love and that there is strength in knowing when to rest and wisdom in asking for help.  yes, if he had to pick a single person... a single someone... who else could it be? 

              but instead of answering they smile gently and run their fingers through long golden locks.  too many to count and they won’t do any single one the disservice of not naming them, so they won’t name anyone at all.

              things became personal the moment she saw someone in need, even if that someone happened to be a stranger.  but...  nevermind.  clouds darken above them, bolts of lightning striking distant enemies as the shield dissipates and she prepares to charge.  ❝ if you’ve really got it under control, prove it! ❞  a challenge expressed with a giggle of laughter, she darts forward to engage the crowd before them, the same lightning pouring from the sky arching from the end of her blade.

sorry about the t swift but i’m also not. this is one of my fav songs for them.  the very soft and subtle love talked abt in it is very much how i picture them and i absolutely adore everything about it.  i don’t have a lot to say about it, but it’s just... idk.  it’s very them.  ESPECIALLY this specific line like.  knowing that you’re my best friend is a way of saying i love you?  incredible.

he’s.  her home :)  i really like the softness of this song.  a lot of the other aspects just sort of fit tenten really well.  i’ve always been a daughter but feathers are meant for the sky?  idk i just really like this song.  in generally i really like this kind of music for her, and this song def is a good one for them.  i think it’s really sweet and soft and precious :)

no tenten playlist is complete without something by sasha sloan and i felt like being rude to you today bc it’s ur love language, so i’m sure u can understand exactly what i mean by it.  but anyway, this song is VERY OBVIOUS and i don’t feel like i need to elaborate on it very much.  tenten spends a long time stuck after neji dies, because she cared for him very very deeply and it’s hard to get over that sort of heartache.

you left me with these issues  that i just can’t seem to shake i wish i never met you, oh but it’s a little too late

haha.  this song is 100% most fitting following the events of canon, where he dies and literally leaves her, but a lot of this song just sort of fits as someone who is extremely reluctantly falling in love.  i’m pretty sure that’s what i heard it as when i first heard it as less of a breakup type song and more of pining type song.  but i’m pretty sure i first heard it and pointed at it and was like “nejiten song” and it’s made me think of them ever since.

I JUST REALLY SIMP FOR CHELSEA CUTLER OK I’M SORRY.  i’m not actually sorry.  this is the song i pulled their ship tag from and there’s just smthing ab out the first two lines that screams them to me.  a sort of comfort and familiarity she feels around him that comes with knowing that she’s enough exactly the way it is.  it’s very sweet.  it’s very soft.  i like it a lot.

a lot of tenten’s ships sort of revolve around the idea of home being where her partner is but i’d say that’s prolly like extra true with kankuten?  idk.  i just think the idea of her saying she’s coming home or that he’s home is very sweet since she feels more comfortable with him than she’s ever felt with anyone else.  i love this song a lot and i feel like it embodies long distance really well.  it’s such a sweet lil jam ; ;

all tenten ever wants is to matter to someone.  it’s literally the driving force of her entire character arc.  she just wants to be important.  in my canon she wants to be a famous legendary kunoichi to impress her dad.  she’s so desperate to be important because she spent her entire childhood just an accessory and the cause of her parents grief and it’s so hard to stomach.  but she immediately feels like she matters w/ him and she knows she does.  and that’s so important.  honestly this is jsut a good all around 1010 ship song.

i just heard this song recently.  it’s extremely cute and i’m not sure what it is about songs revolving around tenten wearing kankuro’s clothes that seem to fit this ship, but they do and i’m not going to let anyone argue with me.  anyway i linked the acoustic version because i like it better.  i just think they’re in love and deserve to be in love and that they’re sweet and i love them.

this song is soft.  i really like it and i’ve been thinking about it ever since you mentioned the idea of them dancing while the radio plays.  because like... the chorus is ‘hold me tight and close ur eyes, oh my love side to side’ and the beat sounds like dancing and it’s very sweet and it’s very cute and it’s a good ship song in general and i love it i really love it i’m really sorry i simp so hard for them i’m sorry--

more dancing references.  and this song is a bop.  it’s really cute and the upbeat vibe reminds me of tenten.  it’s funny because a lot of the stuff i have of her muse playlist is slower, but songs like this and somebody to you by banners are more the beat that i associate with her.  upbeat sort of poprock songs like this.  just cute little bops.  anyway she and lee are a fun pair and this song has fun energy to match.

ok, fin lore: i once wrote a nejileeten fic or had planned one that revolved around sort of what you and i have talked about with lee and tenten getting together after neji dies and the entire fic was named after this song because this verse inspired the whole thing, basically.  it was an exploration of grief because i refused to believe that everyone just got over neji dying and everything was happy go lucky even like a million years ago when i was a wee tadpole.  a baby fin.  anyway, i can’t hear this song w/o thinking about them.

love me dead was actually the first thing i put on shinobu’s personal playlist because of how much it reminded me of her relationship with giyuu.  the song is a total banger and one of my favorites, but so many of the lines fit them so so so so well it’s not even funny.  it’s obviously not a super sweet song, but it does fit the hot cold aspect of their relationship really nicely and that’s probably why i thought of it like immediately when i picked shinobu up.  she absolutely can be a lil toxic to him LOL

this one is pretty straight forward, tbh.  it’s about a romance that clearly isn’t going to last forever and the singer is completely aware of the fact, but he doesn’t care.  which i feel def sums up giyuu and shinobu’s approach towards each other from time to time.  they know it’s bad.  they know they shouldn’t.  they know it’s going to turn out messy for one reason or another and they do it anyway.  just.  blows a kiss to kodaline.  such a good bop.

the video is sort of needed with this one, but it’s about a couple that keeps arguing and fighting over little things until it blows up and the video goes back and shows the little moments between them.  but at the same time they’re very playful and funny with each other.  idk.  the video v much reminds me of them, for sure.  please go watch it, i think it’s a visual masterpiece LOL

MAN THIS SONG KILLS ME.  it literally makes my heart ache so bad.  the whole thing fits them so well, but especially this part.  i was listening to it on the way home the other day and i was like “OH SHIT” because it’s just.  wow.  and even the rest of it??? like seriously just listen to it.  it’s so good.  it’s good for them together.  it’s good for them individually.  it’s good for them not even romantically.  it’s just... JEEZE.  it’s incredible.  i love this song so much.

i just think the idea behind this song of falling in love with someone else every day is very mitsuri and the vibe is very relaxed and sweet, which fits her extremely well.  she’s very prone to falling for people extremely quickly, which isn’t a flaw at all!!  it’s actually sort of regarded as one of her strengths and she’s never put down for it by others or the narrative, which is something i really love about her character!!  she’s SO full of love.  she’s got compliments for every single one of her friends.  she adores them so much!!  which almost makes it kind of tragic that she doesn’t love herself, doesn’t it?

this song kinda... fits mitsuri & the way she feels about people?  the overall vibe of it def puts me in the headspace for her and the person being sung about either could be her or could be someone she loves?  regardless, the idea of “i love everybody because i love you” is very mitsuri and in general love songs like this make me think of her.  but also...  idk.  there’s smthing about this song that just gives me big mitsu vibes and i’m not sure if it’s because of the title or the content or what.  <3

another song that’s more the vibe that fits than the lyrics, though i sincerely believe that in verses where mitsuri lives she tries to look back on her time with her friends and fellow slayers with this sort of optimism.  those times meant the world to her.  they mean the world to her.  it’s a family.  a place to belong.  a place where she is loved for who she is and that’s so so important to her and i feel like this song really captures that.
