WHAT  KIND  OF  STORY  ARE  YOU ?

a story that leaves people speechless.       we all know that sentence "they released the breath they didn't know they were holding."  you're a story like that.  a little bit cliché,  a little bit easy,  and yet very life-changing in its own particular way.  you never fail to surprise people,  and it's a miracle,  because they know you by heart.  you're a slice of life they didn't know they desperately needed.  they will recommend you to other people.  you will live for a long time.

AN  EYEBROW  RAISES  AT  HER  but  no  words  come  out  .  he’s  leaning  the  headboard  ,  sun  streaming  into  their  london  flat  ,  the  light  playing  on  his  shirtless  chest  .  brown  eyes  shine  with  love  as  his  fingers  prick  at  his  guitar  .  “  finally  admitting  that  i’m  good  at  playing  the  guitar  ?”  he  jokes  ,  a  smile  on  his  lips  .  

sometimes  he  wonders  what  he’s  done  in  his  long  ,  long  life  to  deserve  these  moments  ,  the  moments  where  he  gets  to  stare  at  her  ,  watching  the  way  her  golden  hair  mixes  with  the  light  .  he  loves  her  and  every  day  he’s  reminded  why  he  chose  to  stay,  why  he  chose  this  life  with  her  and  every  day  he’s  reminded  that  it  was  indeed  the  right  choice.

“i will say this once,  frank,  and i will say this only once  —  the fact that i’m looking at you has absolutely nothing to do with your truly awful guitar skills.  really,  it’s appalling...  you’re completely off-key,”   a pause as she looks back up from the page,   “it’s like watching a train derailment,  a person’s gaze is simply drawn in regardless of whether they want it to or not.  as it turns out,  though... you’re not terrible,  y’know,  to look at,  so the two sorts of looking can very easily get confused.”   

her explanation is tied up with a shrug as lily looks back to her book,  something matter-of-fact and simple about the words she speaks,   “it just so happens,  for the purposes of clarification,  that this time had nothing to do with the guitar,”
