“i think quidditch is a mix of all sports.”jasmine spoke with a small shrug of her shoulders as she looked at the other.”yeah, i mean, i think it is a little hard to understand but i think it would be interesting to watch it, you know what i mean.”

“i suppose it is a mix of a lotta’ sports,” she spoke with her own shrug, miming the other’s action. “oh it’s plenty interesting to watch. a bunch of nerds mixing with some jocks who think they know what’s going on,” she let out with a laugh.

“If I don’t complain you called me kiddo, can we brush past it?” She quipped, placing her hopes on the fact if she could ease the mood a little, it wouldn’t feel quite so awkward. She’d be the first to admit she hadn’t exactly been as nice as she should have been to her parents lately, but snapping without reason seemed a step too far. “It’s… been a weird day.” As far as excuses went, it wasn’t the best thing she’d ever come up with, but it was true which she reasoned made up for it. “Going to something celebrating a town you know nothing about, sorta makes you feel like the odd one out. I thought about going home, but then I really would be the odd one out for leaving. Don’t you feel a little out of place?” 

“you can complain all you want, but i’m still going to call you kiddo, kiddo,” he looked to his daughter with a smile. no matter how old she was, she was always going to be his sweet little girl. she was always going to be that sweet little girl that he used to hold in his arms. “i know it’s been a weird day, c’mere,” he spoke and extended an arm out to her. dallas gave her shoulder a quick squeeze. “i know this is weird, i know this is a lot, but this is where we’re at right now. i just -– just need you to TRY. try for me. try for your mom. just give this place a chance.”

Walking back towards where the drinks were being sold, she decided that sweet talking someone who could actually buy something was her best bet. It wouldn’t be the first time she’d done it that day, but it hadn’t always been successful. Eyes glued to her phone screen as she navigated her way through the crowd, she inevitable walked into someone, huffing when she dropped her phone. “God, can’t you watch where you’re going?” She snapped, bending down to pick up the device - knowing full well she’d walked into them, but refusing to take the blame. Once she was satisfied no damage had been done, she looked back up at the person she’d bumped into fully content to make some snappy remark before leaving - a plan that quickly vanished when she finally noticed who she’d walked into. “If I say sorry, can we pretend this never happened and move on with our lives? Seems like an a+ plan to me.” @ofcomcts

if he was being honest this whole carnival, event, whatever it was was stressing him out. he was normally an incredibly sociable person, but this was just overwhelming to him. there were so many lights, so much color, and there was definitely alcohol around. he quickly shook that thought out of his head and tried to focus on where he was going. but then he suddenly ran directly into a smaller blonde. the moment she began to run her mouth he immediately recognized her –– his daughter. “i don’t think we can just brush this one off kiddo,” he spoke gently. “that was a heck of a blow up there.”

JAKE * 

his life lately has been more unusual than ever, which is saying something given the family that he comes from. he was used to noise and chaos surrounding him, but he’s getting even more than usual these days. after the engagement was announced and he and kat were public knowledge, he swears he’s been stopped by half the people in ashcroft for congratulations. he hates it more than anything, would happily walk around invisible if such a thing were possible. it’s why an event like this has him seeking out familiar faces to distract himself with, and how he ends up making his way over to xander. “hey, stranger.” ( @ofcomcts )

he sauntered around the carnival with the utmost confidence. was he terrified that the people around him were all talking about him? sure. but was he going to let that show? absolutely not. he had been taught his entire laugh to not show weakness. he could NEVER show any kind of weakness. someone would pick up on it and exploit him for it. he made eyes at a group of girls over by one of the booths, but was soon distracted by a familiar voice. “hey,” he spoke with a smirk.

this was a new experience for her, never had she been to a fair before and she felt like she was a child in a sweet shop and she wasn’t sure where to go, what to do. running a hand through her hair, she turned to the person near her.”what would you do first, get some food or, or, go watch the quidditch tournament, or what would you recommend?”

she walked around the fair with some confidence. after all, she had been in ashcroft her entire life. she knew the drill around here. halley smiled as she heard a voice to her side. “i’d say food first, quidditch later,” she spoke with a smile, “i don’t quite understand quidditch but i’m sure my brother would disown me if i missed it.”

he wasn’t sure where bryson had gone, maybe to check on the kids. while it mattered to him, it wasn’t his first priority. his current first priority was the teen he saw stumbling around the event. he only had to watch for several minutes before he determined he needed to step in. “hey kid,” he spoke gently, “kid c’mere.” // @steadyglows

julia smiled as she handed the food truck employee her money “have a good day!” she called out as she opened the white styrofoam box— this is what she needed, cheap but awesome tasting fair-style food. chicken and french fires, a classic favorite. she made her way through the hustle and bustle of people, occasionally knocking into a few and not apologizing at all. the dark haired girl finally found a lone tree to sit against and placed the box onto her lap; she began chewing on a fry, dipping it into some ketchup when the sun was suddenly blocked by a shadow; julia didn’t even bother looking up. “i was really hoping to get some tanning in today” it was obviously a joke, but a nice plea to get them to move.

she walked around the fair with a sense of wonder in her eyes. she had always had that childlike sense of wonder and amazement. the world around her was always just so fascinating. this anniversary event was like another new level for her. louise walked around alone for a while. she just wanted to explore and look around without someone else dragging her away. as she walked her eyes settled upon a familiar figure sitting against a tree. she walked up to the other slowly and almost jumped at the sound of her voice. “oh –– oh sorry,” she spoke quickly and shuffled out of the way.

classmates → halley currently attends mit so i would love to have some classmates for her, or even people she knows on campus

bad influence(s) → she’s a relatively pure girl so i’d love to see her get corrupted just a little bit. 

enemies  →  i would love to get some more enemies for miss halley. maybe they’re academic rivals? maybe one wronged the other? it’s up to you

friends  →  halley isn’t the most socially perceptive person but she tries her best

OAKLEY, DALLAS

some adult friends  → dallas could use some real friends, buddy spends way to much time working. somebody pls help him

the friends of his kids → he tries to be a cool dad, so he’d try to be friends with his kids’ friends

someone who is in his aa group → dallas has decided to run an aa group in ashcroft so it’d be interesting if someone was in that group

 some people who work/intern at the firm he works for → got a character interested in law? dallas can help with that

some neighbors → he definitely was THAT person who brought baked goods to all his new neighbors

HUNTZBERGER, LOUISE

friends → miss louise would like to be friends with EVERYONE

a tutor (or more than one tbh) → her dyslexia makes school difficult but tutors have made things better. they wouldn’t know exactly what’s going on with her, but they might have an idea that something is up

bad influence(s) → miss louise is the most naive character i have EVER played. she could use some corrupting. 

enemies/ex friends → perhaps louise had a falling out or two and is no longer friends with your muse

LOCKHART, XANDER

a past fling (or many) → xander is bisexual and not rlly a fan of commitment so anything that would have happened would NOT have been super serious. 

someone to talk football shop with → someone pls talk football with this mans he loves to talk about it

a high school ex → he’s lived in ashcroft all his life so he’d definitely have a high school ex or two running around

friends →  xander is a VERY sociable person so he’d definitely have a large circle of friends

a rival from hs →  imagine the dynamic here !!!

someone who tutored him in hs → he’s only smart in how the human body works so he would have needed a tutor or two in hs
