Charlie had the night off, which meant when she wanted a drink she didn’t want to get it from her own workplace. She made her way to The Church to see her favourite bartender and grinned. “Hey you, any chance I can get a rum and coke when you have a minute?”

Harper was ready as soon as Vince finally came home, knowing he probably hasn’t eaten in far too long. She brought the box of donuts she’d ordered right up to him and opened it. “I know it’s not the healthiest but you’re not leaving this room until you eat at least two of these,” she grinned. “The real food is on the way, but I figured I’d have to get to you right away.”

Amy smiled a bit, appreciating them saying it wasn’t stupid. But then they kept talking and she got confused. “What do you mean they have more freedom? This side is great,” she added. “What…do you mean by propaganda?” She wondered if she’d been so set on getting to Virtue that she was blind to things others knew about.
"It's not stupid." They assured her and sipped a bit more of the beer, trying to ignore the throb of pain from the bruises forming. "The freedom, they have a hell of a lot more freedom than we do." They explained. "There's no weird propaganda around for one."

“That would be wonderful to accomplish, it seems like it’s very difficult for them to go through,” Hayden nodded as she walked through the door and got in line to order. “I can’t imagine what it’s like for them, not knowing how it might get worse.”
"That's exactly what we want to do, eliminate it so they don't need to depend on tonics." Marcus told her then opened the door to the cafe once they reached it.

Harper rolled her eyes and laughed. “I can see you do. What about the secrecy? Does it ever get hard not to talk about what you do with your friends or Beverly?” she wondered, she wasn’t sure she could handle that.
"I LOVE having my ego boosted." Elijah joked with a grin then laughed. "Thanks, it's something I've always wanted to do and I knew I had to work pretty fucking hard to get it."

Morgan nodded, she should have thought as much. “I wish I had a knack for science and all that, so I could do more than just bodyguard the ones helping people,” she sighed. “How you doing outside all the work stuff?”
"I don't know." Christian shrugged his shoulders. "I don't have access to any research for solutions, it's something I'll have to ask Benjamin about if he's willing to tell me." he didn't know though.

“Don’t pretend you don’t know you’re my favourite,” Cecilia rolled her eyes but laughed all the same. She tapped her glass against his and took a sip before setting it down again. “To the most humble man I know,” she teased. “It does help that you have the best business in town, though. Certainly my favourite place to be outside my own casino of course.”
"Your favourite?" His mouth fell agape, faux shock as if he hadn't heard those exact words from her before, as if the flirtation was anything new. "Well, if it's the same favourite I'm thinking it is, he's doing exceptionally well. Business is booming, as always, and you could say he's something of a success story." He picked up his own drink, tapping the glass lightly against Cecilia's. "To me."

Sandra looked at her quizzically but continued her polite smile. “Oh? Do you mean going back to your world or that you already know which side you will choose?”
Pippa sighed. "No, no. I do not intend to stay here much longer once I've done my exploring and learning." She explained.

“Perfect, Corner Hub it is,” Sawyer grinned and headed in that direction. She laughed and mirrored the face they made playfully. “Nah, I don’t think so anyways. But if they’re the Virtue types, would we even want to know them?” she joked. “Who’d want to hang out with people with sticks up their asses? I think I got a glance of some though, they looked like they could be fun Vice types. Maybe fun people to go to the bars with.”
"Maybe Corner Hub? They've got noodles and hot sauce on deck always. And you know I'm always down for an icee," Billie suggested, grinning sheepishly but not at all addressing that they were caught in the lie. Both of them knew what really happened. "Nah, not yet. I kinda want to, though. Like, imagine any of them picking Virtue." They made a face. "What about you?"

Hayden smiled and looked down at her hands. “Busy as well, with work especially,” she sighed. “The anniversary of my daughter’s passing is coming up though, I’m putting together a little bundle of items she’d like to bring for her,” she smiled sadly.
Hayden had a point there, but Madeleine liked Eun-Ji—and besides, who was she to insert herself in the middle of them? "Oh, you know me. Busy as always," She caught the eye of one of the baristas at the counter who immediately got started on her drink, and then she looked back to Hayden. "And you?"

"If they don't fully understand it, who's to say it's not something dormant?" Amy suggested, shrugging slightly. "I don't know if it's stupid, but that place just feels like it's to blame for everything. What do you like about it?"
Malachi raised an eyebrow, but at least that explained some things. "So, you blame your parents for being Slightly?" He asked now. "I wasn't aware that Slightly could be born."
