Skin conditions: Normal vs Abnormal
Over our lifetime our skin ages with us. When we meet someone, we often observe their face and skin to determine their age. Simple signs of aging include wrinkles, decoloration, and skin loosening. Such conditions are absolutely normal as you grow older. Black spots, bruises, and moles of different kinds are normal conditions, yet symptoms of different disorders like psoriasis, fungal infections (like Black fungus), etc. Hence, it gets extremely important to observe these conditions and take preventive measures accordingly, before they grow and aggravate the underlying disease. In this article, we will discuss, which of these conditions are normal and which are not.
Tumblr media
Cold Sores
Normal: Lesions happening rarely (1 or 2 times a year)
Abnormal: Breakout very frequent (Once a month or more)
Cold sores are due to an infection of the lips, the mouth, or the gums. They are usually small and often painful blisters that almost always go away on their own. However, if they persist, or appear frequently, could be a symptom of an underlying conditions like Herpes Simplex Virus, auto-immune diseases, etc.
 Dandruff
Normal: Little Flakes that can occasionally or seasonally appear and can be controlled via over-the-counter shampoos.
Abnormal: Thick, Scaly, itchy patches that are persistent
Mild dandruff is normal and can be a concern that you can change by using certain hair products. But if this condition involves extremely itchy and patchy skin that interrupts your normal way of work and social life, then medical advice should be sought. In such cases, psoriasis is very often mistaken to be dandruff. Psoriasis is a type and symptom of auto-immune diseases.
Black spots on the skin Normal: Age spots, liver spots, hyperpigmentation coming up at any age (especially middle age)
Abnormal: Spots or bumps seeming like a sore and doesn’t heal within three months, flat firm and waxy spots with crusty shell, blistered spots, pain warmth, and redness around the spots.
Normally these blackspots happen due to hyperpigmentation in our skin. These spots are almost very normal to happen since birth or to develop with age. But if these spots are along with the above-mentioned abnormal symptoms, then it could be a case of skin cancer. If you have recently recovered from covid and had unchecked diabetes, it could also be a case of Black fungus.
 Excessive Sweating
Normal: Appropriate sweating with emotional or physical actions.
Abnormal: Sweating of underarms, palms, soles, face, and head without any emotional or physical stimulus and which affects your work and social life.
Sweating as a reaction to an actual stimulus of physical or emotional activity, is normal. But when this happens excessively without any real stimulus or more in comparison to the stimulus, it is a sign of hyperhidrosis. This could be a symptom of thyroid problems, diabetes, or infections. Professional help should be sought.

Robots: Your future doctor?
Artificial Intelligence is paving its way into people’s lives so easily. From being applied in streaming apps to building and operating a robot, AI has proved its vast potential. It won’t be surprising if robots started replacing our daily routines and the way we work. From Siri writing an email with Alexa to robots performing surgeries on humans, AI has made all our imaginations true. While AI has already shown prospects in automating certain jobs, but still such big changes are around the corner. AI is taking over the medical industry with its AI-driven applications. It will be no surprise if it took over even the Best Cardiologists in India and the world.
Tumblr media
With the ongoing pandemic, we have realized the importance of a very efficient healthcare system and the health of our healthcare professionals. A small task like turning the patient over, for them to sleep on stomach for proning (this process has proved to be very helpful for patients struggling to breathe), requires at least two assistants. Administering the covid testing also requires a lot of time and often causes mistakes due to the lack of precision, and exhaustion by the professionals. In big surgeries that last for hours, doctors tend to get exhausted and with that, backup professionals have to be ready. With the introduction of robots, we can make sure of precision and force. Though there is still a long way to go for robots to be developed to handle surgeries, they can be easily used as assistants to provide support and do the lesser precise jobs.
How robotic surgeries and treatments can be our future?
Different robots around the USA and Europe are being developed to perform robotic surgeries. With proper experimentation and development, robots can easily be used to do surgeries overlooked by professionals. It is because of the following reasons:
●      Fewer complications, such as surgical site infection
●      Less pain and blood loss
●      Quicker recovery
●      Smaller, less noticeable scars
Robots and AI can have large amounts of data and hence, are more efficient to predict patient outcomes enhancing clinical productivity. But, at the same time, it lacks human sense and decision-making and still requires human expertise in the interpretation of data and recommendations.
But overall, AI can enhance clinical productivity due to its ability to handle a large capacity of tasks that are well suited for automation. It can also reduce the burden of clerical work of physician’s thus improving the quality of care and allow them to spend more time with patients and the healthcare team. Hence, seeing robots as your doctor can really be true.
 Robot-assisted surgery
Robotic surgery is now really the present. The Best Cardiologists in India, often use the assistance of robots for the same. These surgeries are getting very popular in the USA and Europe. The most widely used clinical robotic surgical system includes a camera arm and mechanical arms with surgical instruments attached to them. The surgeon controls the arms while seated at a computer console near the operating table. The console gives the surgeon a high-definition, magnified, 3-D view of the surgical site. The surgeon leads other team members who assist during the operation.

HEART DISEASES TREATMENT
Heart disease can be described as a broad umbrella term that covers a variety of cardiovascular issues. There are many types of heart disease. In India, more than 4.5 million people died of cardiovascular disease in 2020. Cardiovascular Diseases remain the leading cause for death in India since 2000. The quality of treatment for CVDs differs depending on income levels.
Let's now take a look at the top four most popular CVDs in India, ranked by disability caused.
Tumblr media
Ischemic heart disease
Ischemic heart disease refers to persistent chest pain and discomfort caused by a blockage in the flow of blood to a particular part of your heart. This is usually due to plaque buildup.
IHD can be treated with medication, lifestyle changes, and surgery. This condition can be treated at the Fortis Escorts Hospital, New Delhi, or Apollo Hospital, Chennai.
Cerebrovascular disease
The brain can sustain damage that restricts blood flow through narrowing of vessels (stenosis), blood-clotting (thrombosis), and vessel blockage (embolism). These problems can lead to a stroke. In the event of a stroke, it is important to get treatment quickly with medications like TPA and related clot-busters. Other treatments are focused on preventing further strokes and limiting complications. Mediante – The Mendicity Hospitals, Gurgaon, and Apollo Hospitals, Grams Road in Chennai are among the best hospitals to treat brain stroke.
Rheumatic heart disease
Rheumatic fever is an inflammation of connective tissues, especially the heart, brain, joints, and skin. It can permanently damage the valves if it affects your heart.
The treatment includes medications that in some cases can last for the rest of the patient's life. Fortis Escorts Heart Institute is located in Okhla Road. It is the Best Heart Treatment Hospitals for any type of cardiovascular disease.
Myocarditis
Myocarditis can be caused by inflammation of the heart's middle muscle layer and/or the outer sac. Virus infection is the most common cause. The treatment may include medication to regulate the heartbeat or improvise heart function. Sometimes, a pacemaker or surgery may be necessary to ensure the heart's proper function. Mediante – The Mendicity, Gurgaon, and Manipal Hospitals, New Delhi have a great reputation for providing the same.
 How the heart works
Your heart is a pump. It is a muscular organ that measures approximately the same size as your fist and is located slightly to the left of your chest. The right and left sides of your heart are divided.
The right side of your heart contains the right ventricle and right     atrium. Through the pulmonary veins, it pumps blood to the lungs.
The lungs provide oxygen to the blood. The lungs also exhale     carbon dioxide, which is a waste product.
The oxygen-rich blood enters the left side, including the ventricle     and left atrium.
To supply oxygen and nutrients to tissues throughout the body, the     left side of your heart pumps blood through the largest artery (aorta).

Get financial assistance with the help of MrMed
Money problems
In the earlier days, most people used to live long, healthy lives. Other than chronic illnesses, people did not require to go to the doctor a lot. However, due to a change in lifestyle since technology became an integral part of human existence, many illnesses have become very common. Therefore, healthcare has formed a huge part of the daily budget of individuals. Every day medication is being purchased by people in huge quantities to deal with physical and mental disturbances and discomfort. Even though they might not be very costly, speciality drugs are! Speciality pharmaceuticals are a recent designation of pharmaceuticals that are classified as high-cost, high complexity and/or high touch. These huge costs can be dealt with Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs).
Tumblr media
What helps?
Firms that produce speciality medications often sponsor Patient Assistance Programs (or PAPs) for individuals who cannot afford their medication. PAPs have various necessities. Patients and their families have to worry about hospital charges, treatment cost and their well-being. Even though hospital charges might be covered by health insurances like Mediclaim, they do not cover any kind of medication, especially speciality ones. The financial constraints on top of the already existent worry about health cause the patient party physical and psychological misery. This often leads them to lose hope and feel helpless. In such situations, PAPs act like an oasis in a desert. Patient Assistance Programs deliver the patients with financial support that helps them to continue their treatment with speciality medications. When Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs) are offered by pharmaceutical companies' CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives, patients may be able to avail themselves of medications at absolutely no cost as well. Other than that, individuals can also be eligible for no-cost drugs depending on their medical, as well as socio-economic criteria. A partially or fully subsidised prescription with the help of a PAP goes a long way in saving overall therapy costs for patients.

Fun Facts about Heart
The heart is present in the center of our circulatory system. It is primarily responsible for pumping and distributing oxygen and nutrients throughout our body with the help of blood and blood vessels as its channels. This task is so vital that even a small dysfunction or abnormality can cause drastic changes in our bodies. The most surprising part is that the heart is just a muscle that is able to operate because of so many other parts of the body working together with it. The heart has four chambers and they are accompanied by a number of veins and arteries that facilitate the functioning of the heart. This fist-size organ is the reason we live. Even a brain-dead human is still living, until its heart beats.
If you face any kind of abnormal chest pain, constant breathlessness, irregular heartbeat, or related symptoms, here is a list of the Best Heart Treatment Hospitals in India.

Electrocardiogram (ECG): Important facts
Electrocardiograms (ECGs or EKGs) is a machine or technology that quickly records the electric signals in our hearts. These heart signals occur whenever the heartbeats, that is, on opening or closing of valves to facilitate blood circulation in the body. Electrocardiograms are done in hospitals, doctor’s chambers, and ambulances. This technology has even been adapted to quite a few smartwatches. This is one of the best non-invasive methods for the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.
Tumblr media
Why do you get an ECG/EKG?
ECG’s are an extremely quick and safe, painless way to for the following:
1.     Checking heart rate
2.     Checking heartbeat rhythm
3.     Checking for poor blood flow to your heart muscle
4.     Diagnose a heart attack
5.     Checking on cardiac abnormalities like, the thickened muscle
6.     Detection of significant electrolyte dysfunctionalities, such as high potassium or high or low calcium
What happens in an ECG test?
Typically, a doctor places electrodes with adhesive pads to the skin of the patient’s chest, arms and legs. During the test, the patient lies flat on their back, as the electrodes detect the movement of the circulation of blood and electric currents in our body. The patterns detected are sent to the computer that is connected to the electrode. These patterns are printed as pictures on graphs. This is called “resting” EKG. The same can be recorded while exercising.
It takes around ten minutes to attach, set and complete the test. While it only takes a few seconds to fully record and print the impulses.
  Types of ECG/EKG Tests
Besides the standard ECG/EKG, there are other types of related tests too. They are:
 1.     Holter Monitor
It is a portable ECG/EKG that checks the electrical activity in our bodies for 1 to 2 days (for the full 24hrs of a day). This is done to check for any abnormal heart rhythm, palpitations, insufficient blood flow in the heart muscle or for such  diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.
2.     Event Monitor
Doctors can suggest this if one gets symptoms only now and then. When one pushes a button, the machine records the activity of electrical impulses in our body for the next few minutes.
What should you expect out of the test?
An electrocardiogram is done in a doctor’s hospital and is often done by a nurse or a technician. Before patching up of electrodes, the nurse or technician may shave any body hair present in those patches, if any. During ECG, around 12 sensors (electrodes) are attached to the patient’s chest and limbs with the help of adhesive/sticky patches with wires that are connected to the computer monitor. The patient breathes normally, lying on the bed, as the computer records the information and displays/prints it on computer/paper. A standard ECG gets over within a few minutes. One can continue their daily activities after the test.

Difference Between Heart Failure and Heart Attack
What is a heart attack?
A heart attack (also known as a myocardial infarction) occurs when one or more of the heart muscles doesn't receive enough blood.
The greater the damage to the heart muscle, the longer you wait to get treatment.
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the main cause of heart attack. Another cause of heart attack is severe spasm or sudden contraction of the coronary arteries. This can block blood flow to the heart muscle.
Tumblr media
Heart Attack Symptoms
The symptoms of a heart attack can vary from one person to the next. These symptoms can also vary between men and women. Some signs of heart attack are more common than others. These include:
·         The feeling of pressure or pain in the middle of the chest. The area may feel squeezing or burning. It may last several minutes, or it could be temporary. It may be severe or mild. The most common symptom is chest pain. Some people may not experience it.
·         You may feel pain or discomfort in your upper body such as your neck and jaw, stomach, abdomen, and arms above your belly button.
·         Trouble breathing.
·         Nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness and feeling tired can all be symptoms. This is more common for women than it is for men.
What is a heart failure?
Your heart will become weaker over time if it is constantly pushing blood through narrow spaces. It can become unresponsive to blood flow and eventually fail.
Other conditions can also cause heart failure. These include:
Heart     valve disease
Congenital     heart defects
Infections
Irregular     heartbeat
Problems     with the heart muscle
HIV/AIDS
Chemotherapy
Thyroid     disease
Alcohol     overuse
Drug use     disorder
Lung     disease
Heart Failure Symptoms
You may notice more symptoms if you have heart disease.
Breathing difficulties, especially when lying down
Coughing and wheezing
You may have a fast or irregular heartbeat
Tiredness
Retention fluid can cause swelling around the ankles, legs and     stomach.
Confusion
It is crucial to quickly and effectively treat heart disease due to its seriousness and chronic nature. It can happen only in reviewed, trusted, and the Best Heart Treatment Hospitals. It is not easy to find the right hospital for you in India. Indian hospitals are well-respected in the field of cardiology. This list includes the few top hospitals in India with national and international accreditations. India has seen significant progress in medicine over the past decade and has a flourishing healthcare industry. India's world-class Heart Hospitals have a lower than 1% death rate from heart surgery.

What is the link between Black Fungus and Covid-19?
Thousands of people had contracted the black fungal infection after the treatment of covid-19. Here is all you have to know about what is the link between covid-19 and the fungal infection, and how to safeguard ourselves from contracting the same. Before that let us understand what causes both the diseases. There are several myths and facts rummaging around the country with regards to the Black fungus. Stay updated and do not believe in rumors.
Tumblr media
Covid-19
COVID-19 is caused by the newly discovered pathogen, Coronavirus. The most dangerous characteristic of the virus is the rapidity of its spread from person to person. The virus primarily spreads through droplets of saliva or the nose discharge upon sneezing, talking, or coughing of an infected person. Hence a mask becomes one of the most essential pieces of equipment for prevention and precaution from the disease.
The coronavirus enters into our body and latches its spiky surface to healthy blood cells in our body, especially the ones in the lungs. This causes respiratory symptoms of cold, fever, cough, and in extreme cases, not being able to breathe.
 Symptoms of Covid-19
Once, entered into our body, the pathogen takes around 2-14 days to respond with symptoms of:
 ●      Cough and sore throat
●      Fever
●      Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
●      Fatigue
●      Chills
●      Body aches
●      Headache
●      Runny nose
●      Loss of taste
●      Loss of smell
●      Nausea
●      Diarrhea
 Black Fungus
Black fungus or, Mucormycosis is a rare fungal infection. It is infected by a group of fungi called Mucormycetes. It's a severe fungal infection that can get fatal if not taken proper care of it. These fungi exist everywhere in our nature, especially in the soil and decaying organic matter. The fungus can grow in the brain sinus area, lungs, skin, or in our body’s gastrointestinal system (GI).
Symptoms of black fungus in sinuses:
●      One-sided facial swelling
●      Headache
●      Fever
●      Nasal congestion
●      Black lesions on nasal bridges or inside of the mouth
Symptoms of black fungus in lungs:
●      Cough
●      Shortness of breath
●      Fever
●      Chest Pain
Symptoms of black fungus in skin:
●      Skin ulcers
●      Blisters
●      Skin turning black
●      Swelling
●      Pain, warmth, and redness around the wound
 Symptoms of black fungus GI:
●      Nausea
●      Vomiting
●      Abdominal pain
●      GI bleeding
So how are Black Fungus and Covid-19 linked?
A person infected with the virus is left with a very weak immune system. This brings the patient into a very high risk of contracting the fungal infection. This is especially because of the abundance of the fungi in the environment around us, especially in soil and decaying organic matter.
Another plausible explanation could be that the Steroids that are used to heal patients from covid COVID-19, make them immunocompromised. Indiscriminate usage of steroids has led to severe cases of the fungus. So much so that, Rajasthan had announced it as an epidemic.
Patients having underlying conditions, especially diabetes, are avoided from being prescribed steroids. It is because it causes the immunity of the patient to be further, compromised to such infections. But the growing number of infections reflects the possibility of how thousands of people do not know of having diabetes.
Mucormycosis has a mortality rate of more than 50%. So this condition should not be taken lightly at all.
  Precautions that can be taken:
As a takeaway, we should make sure to not consume or prescribe steroids indiscriminately to covid patients. Often patients self-consume steroids without a doctor’s guidance, or they even pressurize doctors to prescribe the same. At times, doctors overuse steroids for the recovery of patients. This needs to be taken care of at the earliest, in order to stop the further spread of the fungus infection.
Other precautionary measures could be the maintenance of blood sugar levels, use of clean sterile water during oxygen therapy, wearing masks especially while working with soil, organic matter, and construction sites.

We all need a little bit of pick-me-up once in a while. Some help or assistance goes a long way, especially, when an individual is sick. Acute diseases or disorders show up announced more often than not. And in the case of chronic illnesses, the therapy and treatment drag on for so long that it bleeds the person and their family dries financially. It reigns havoc on the lives of the patient and everyone around them. The economic burden only adds to it. Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs) offer some respite from this.
Tumblr media
Patient assistance programs (PAPs) are generally sponsored by pharmaceutical corporations, NGOs and governmental organizations. They are developed as programs to fall back on for struggling people who become unable to pay their unending medical bills. The goal of these programs is to provide financial assistance to help patients acquire medications for little or no cost. It especially helps people with health insurances or health insurances which do not provide ample coverage. The benefits that Patient Assistance Programs provide vary widely from program to program and often have various kinds of requirements. Eligibilities vary from program to program and medicine to medicine as well. Thus, they provide new hope to patients with rare and difficult-to-treat forms of illnesses. Illnesses like cancer, HIV, and auto-immune diseases require extremely costly drugs for elongated durations. Drug manufacturers who specialize in making medications for them often have PAPs in place to help their consumers. Often, it is a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). NGOs and other organizations that have these programs, hire program managers who work with nurses and program partners to deliver education, information, and personalized care to patients. Therefore, not only do people get low-cost or free medications, but they also receive help throughout this journey.
India's biggest online super-specialty pharmacy provides you with opportunities for PAPs as well. MrMed sells specialty, as well as imported medications on their easy-to-access website. What's the connection between Black Fungus & Covid-19?
After receiving covid-19, thousands of people contracted black fungal infections. This article will explain the connection between covid-19, the fungal infection, as well as how we can prevent ourselves from getting it. Let's first understand the causes of both diseases. The Black fungus is the subject of many myths and truths. Keep up to date and don't believe in rumors.
Tumblr media
Covid-19
Coronavirus, a newly discovered pathogen that causes COVID-19, is responsible. The virus's rapid spread from one person to another is its most dangerous feature. The virus spreads primarily through saliva droplets or nasal discharge. This happens when an infected person sneezes, talks, or coughs. A mask is an essential piece of equipment to prevent and protect against the disease.
Coronavirus infects our bodies and latches onto its spiky surface to protect healthy blood cells, particularly those in the lungs. It can cause respiratory symptoms such as cold, fever, cough, and, in severe cases, death.
Signs and symptoms of Covid-19
·      The body takes between 2-14 days for the pathogen to react with symptoms.
·      Sore throat and cough
·      Fever
·      Trouble breathing or shortness of breath
·      Fatigue
·      Chills
·      Aches in the body
·      Headache
·      Runny nose
·      Loss of taste
·      Perception loss
·      Nausea
·      Diarrhea
Black Fungus
Black fungus is also known as Mucormycosis, is a rare fungal infection. Mucormycetes are a grouping of fungi that can infect it. If not treated properly, it can become fatal. These fungi are found in all parts of nature, including soil and decaying organic material. The fungus may grow in the brain, sinuses, skin, or gastrointestinal system (GI).
 Sinus symptoms of black fungus:
·      Asymmetrical facial swelling
·      Headache
·      Fever
·      Congestion in the nasal
·      Black lesions in the nasal bridges and inside of your mouth
Black fungus symptoms in the lungs:
·      Cough
·      Breathing difficulties
·      Fever
·      Chest Pain
Signs of black fungus on the skin:
·      Skin lesions
·      Blisters
·      Blackening of the skin
·      Swelling
·      Redness, heat, and pain around the wound.
Black fungus symptoms GI:
·      Nausea
·      Vomiting
·      Abdominal pain
·      Bleeding to the GI
How are Black Fungus & Covid-19 related?
The virus can cause a person to develop a weak immune system. The patient is at high risk of catching a fungal infection. This is due to the high number of fungal infections in our environment, particularly in soil and decaying organic material.
Another explanation is that patients who are treated with steroids for covid COVID-19 may be immunocompromised. The indifference of steroids has resulted in severe cases of fungus. It was so severe that Rajasthan declared it an epidemic.
Steroids are not prescribed to patients with underlying conditions such as diabetes or other medical issues. This is because steroids can cause the immune system to be compromised further. The rising number of infections is a reflection of the fact that thousands of people may not be aware they have diabetes.
Mucor mycosis is known to have a higher than 50% mortality rate. This condition is not to be taken lightly.
Some precautions to be taken:
We should not prescribe or consume steroids in an indiscriminate manner to covid patients. Patients often self-consume steroids and even pressure doctors to prescribe them. Sometimes doctors use steroids to speed up the healing process of patients. To stop the spread of fungus infection, it is important to address this issue as soon as possible.
Other precautionary measures include the maintenance of blood sugar, the use of clean, sterile water during oxygen treatment, and wearing masks when working with soil, organic matter or construction sites.

What is the normal count of platelets: When to get yourself tested?
Before understanding what is low or high level of platelet count in your body, let us first understand what platelets exactly are, and what role they play in our body. So what are platelets?
Whenever we scratch or cut ourselves, we start bleeding. After a few minutes, we see the blood drying and forming a crusty texture and over the exposed skin. This is done in order to stop the cut from bleeding out more and more blood. This process of clotting in order to stop bleeding is carried out by colorless cell-like structures called platelets. So, Platelets are nothing but cell fragments that form clots to stop bleeding. Platelets are also known as Thrombocytes.
Tumblr media
Platelet Count
Platelet count refers to the number of platelets in your bloodstream per microliter of blood. A normal human has an average platelet count of 150,000-200,000. For a woman, it is around 157,000-371,000, while that for men is 135,000-317,000 per microliter of blood. Platelets only live in the body for around 10 days. So our bone marrow constantly creates millions of platelets per day. If your platelet count is higher or lower than the average range then it could indicate an underlying medical condition or a side effect of an ongoing medical condition.
When is an abnormal platelet count harmful?
When your platelet count is 450,000 per microliter of blood or higher, the condition is known as thrombocytosis. The excess of platelets can cause unnecessary clotting of blood or even bleed on the dysfunctioning of platelets.
On the other hand, a low platelet count of 150,000 per microliter of blood or lower, is a condition of thrombocytopenia. A count lower than 10,000 per microliter is known as severe thrombocytopenia. The deficiency of platelets can cause extreme cases of internal bleeding.
What happens in the platelet test?
There are two types of Platelets tests. One to check the functioning of platelets and the other is for the count. The Platelets function test is done to measure the ability of platelets to create a clot. A platelet count test is done for the diagnosis of conditions causing too much bleeding or unnecessary clots. The counting test is often done as a part of a regular checkup.
When do you need to get yourself tested?
You may need a platelet count/functioning test in case you undergo the following symptoms.
Symptoms of thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) include:
●      Nosebleeds
●      Prolonged bleeding after a minor cut or injury
●      Unexplained bruising
●      bleeding into the skin that leading to tiny red spots
●      Purplish spots on the skin as a result of bleeding under the skin
●      Women might suffer from heavy menstrual bleeding
Symptoms of too many platelets include:
●      Numbness of hands and feet
●      Headache
●      Dizziness
●      Weakness
You may also need platelet function testing if you are:
●      Undergoing or undergone a complex surgery
●      Under a medication of clots reduction
Temporary conditions that can sway/affect the platelet count and functioning:
●      Recent injury
●      Birth Control pills consumption
●      Recent surgery
●      Vitamin b12 deficiency
●      Recovery from alcohol addiction
●      Intense physical activity (like running a marathon)

Wellness Products
Modern life is anything but easy. Along with a lot of improvement and developments, there have been some setbacks as well. At the cost of superfast cars and material production, the environment has taken a hit. Along with this, stress and tension have put a lot of damaging effects on people's health. Pollution, unhealthy diet and lack of exercise have taken a toll on the quality of life of individuals. This has led to an increase in diseases and disorders as well. However, human beings are a resilient bunch. We have come up with exercises, diets, treatment plans, etc. to curb the damaging effects of the aforementioned things. Wellness products are one such advent of human adaptation.
Tumblr media
It is difficult to define wellness since it is more of a concept than a state. Wellness is primarily about being in good physical and mental health. Not only is it, simply the absence of illness or stress, but a broad practice of internal and external behaviours even when experiencing challenges. Wellness can be supplemented by a lot of natural produce apart from taking medications and eating healthy. Ayurveda, an ancient Indian medical system, believes in the practice of improving wellness by taking the gifts of Mother Earth, adding human knowledge to it and producing a final result that is extremely beneficial and acts as an accessory to wellness. Wellness products are those, that are intended to maintain or encourage a normal state of health or a healthy activity. Their intended use relates to the role of a healthy lifestyle by helping to reduce the risk or impact of certain chronic diseases or conditions. Thus, wellness products can become a part of your life to ensure that even when you are free of diseases, you are not unhealthy. Medications created from natural ingredients fall under wellness products. Health drinks, medicated skincare and hair care products and edible health supplements are also some examples of the same.
MrMed, an online super speciality pharmacy hosts a range of options of wellness products. Apart from having speciality and imported medicines that cater to rare, chronic and urgent disorders, they have a variety of products from leading brands like Retona, Sigamin, Carboload, etc. You can find flavoured and unflavoured food and dietary supplements, health supplements and vitamins. What is a Specialty Pharmacy
Super specialty pharmacy refers specifically to channels that distribute specialty drugs. These are pharmaceutical therapies that are high cost, complex, and/or expensive. "High-touch services" were added to the initial price tags of specialty pharmacies. This was because patients who received specialty pharmaceuticals needed "high levels of ancillary or follow-up care to ensure that their drug spending is not wasted.
Tumblr media
Who Uses Them?
Conditions that may require meds from a Super specialty pharmacy include:
• Bleeding disorders
• Cancer
• Crohn’s disease
• Growth hormone deficiency
• Hemophilia
• Hepatitis C
• HIV and AIDS
• Immune disorders
• Infertility
• Multiple sclerosis
• Pulmonary hypertension
• Rheumatoid arthritis
"Specialty pharmacists are different from traditional pharmacies because they coordinate many aspects in patient care and disease management. They can deliver medication with special storage and distribution requirements. Standardized processes allow for economies of scale. Patients with complex, rare, and often chronic conditions are able to benefit from specialty pharmacies that provide close care and management. Specialist pharmacies have health professionals who educate patients and help to ensure medication compliance, prescribe the right medications, and avoid unnecessary costs. Other support systems allow for the coordination of information between healthcare professionals and patients.
The services that specialty pharmacy provides to patients, providers, payers, and manufacturers is what really matters. It is important that the support provided must be consistent and that the systems used are sophisticated enough to meet all the needs. It's not the place of care that is important.
