Last night was terrifying beyond words.

The explosions were so loud, it felt like our ears would burst.

The ground shook violently.

Our hearts were pounding like they would explode from our chests.

They bombed a UN-run health clinic right next to us.

There were displaced families inside, and dozens of tents around it.

People were given just 20 minutes to evacuate and run for their lives.

It was a nightmare. Most left behind the few belongings they had and fled in panic.

Death was breathing just steps away.

Even places that are supposed to be safe are being destroyed.

The war is intensifying, and so is the hunger.

We’re not just hungry, we’re starving.

What you hear in the media about aid reaching Gaza is a cruel illusion.

Trying to reach even a loaf of bread can cost your life.

Prices are beyond reason, and there’s barely anything left to buy.

Gaza is being slowly strangled.

Traumatized in Ireland While my Family is Facing Death and Starvation in Gaza

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.

Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.

People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.

When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.

I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.

New displacement, new evacuation, starvation, living under fire

We miraculously survived today.

I appeal to you with all humanity to stand by us in these harsh circumstances. The occupation issued a circular ordering the evacuation of our town (Gaza - Khan Younis)😭, threatening to kill anyone who remains. I have no means to flee. My husband is injured in his stomach and leg and cannot move. I have a newborn and a baby girl who cannot run or endure. I need urgent help to secure a means of transportation to take us to a safe place. I do not have the money or the capabilities. I ask everyone who can, to donate even a small amount to save our٨ lives. This is a call for life. Help us before we lose everything🙏.

Save my family from destruction

My name is Ahmed, a 30-year-old Palestinian from Gaza. I live in Khan Younis with my wife and two young daughters. My second daughter was born under the sounds of bombing, in July 2025 — not in a hospital, not in safety, but in a tent, under war.

Before the war, we had a simple but beautiful life. I worked as a primary school teacher. We had a warm home, laughter, dreams, and hope. My eldest daughter filled our home with joy, and we were waiting for the baby with so much love. But all of that disappeared.

When the war started, our home was completely destroyed. We barely escaped with our lives. We've been displaced 7 times — moving from tent to tent, from fear to fear. There is no safe place. No roof that stays. No night without terror. No day without loss.

I lost my job. I lost the ability to provide for my family. There’s barely enough food. No clean water. No medicine. No milk for my newborn. Diapers are too expensive. Clothes are unavailable. My baby cries from hunger, and I can do nothing. I look into my wife's eyes and I have no answers — only silence and pain.

We no longer ask for a normal life. We only ask to survive. To escape this nightmare. To find a place where our children don’t wake up to bombs.

Please, if you're reading this: help us. Help me save my children. Help us survive. This is not life — this is a slow death. Maybe the border will open. Maybe we’ll get a chance to live. I still have a little hope left... but it’s fading each day. 🙏🫂

I am Manal from Gaza, 31 years old. My family and I are living in extremely difficult circumstances after the war on Gaza. We were displaced from our home and live in a tent that does not protect us from the heat of the summer or the cold of the winter. I suffer from extreme poverty because of these circumstances; we have nothing. We are no longer able to provide basic necessities such as food, drink, and other things due to the exorbitant rise in prices. Thus, our sources of livelihood have been destroyed, and we live in extremely difficult conditions in tents. Words cannot describe what we face daily in the tents without food, medicine, or clean drinking water, in addition to the stress, helplessness, psychological pressure, and daily trauma caused by everything around us. We work to care for our families, so that we do not leave them vulnerable to danger, illness, and death.

Now, I find myself in this difficult situation, and I humbly ask for your help to save the lives of my family, especially my little girl, by getting us out of Gaza to Egypt and building a new life outside Gaza or helping us get money to buy the necessities we might be able to afford. Asking for help is not easy, but we had no choice because we want to survive and strive to rebuild our shattered lives. We are very grateful for any help you can offer, no matter how small, because your help will go a long way in alleviating our suffering. I hope you will share my story with your family and friends.
