The implications in that final scene are dreadful af. The wish to be with her apprentices for one last sunrise being completed in both the most beautiful and horrific way possible.

I finished Lies of P Overture yesterday and I am not well.

(spoilers below)

Dear god the ending cinematic sent me. For the longest time I was wondering: Who was the Legendary Stalker? What happened to her? How did Romeo end up in Geppetto's hands?

I have never felt such dread as when Geppetto drags the box into the garden. I had already completed the game around four times, so I knew what was in the box. The sound of the box opening and the sword unsheathing made my stomach drop.

Before the very final cinematic, during the credits, my mind was rolling with so many thoughts. At first I thought the reason Lea disappeared must have been because of the petrification disease and then this was how Geppetto got Romeo. He either kidnapped him or made some kind of deal after Lea was out of the way (though the ladder seems highly unlikely. I also had the thought, prior to the DLC, that Romeo also died and Geppetto used his corpse like how he presumably did with the Nameless Puppet).

What I was not expecting was for Geppetto to throw the Nameless Puppet at Lea while she was weakened and weaponless, and then after killing her, taking the also weakened Romeo so he can turn him into, what is essentially, the first version of P.

I wonder if Lea knew the Nameless Puppet was Carlo. I saw someone say (I can't remember who) that maybe she did because this would have taken place shortly after Carlo's death, so maybe his corpse hasn't decomposed as much. The implications of that is staggering.

She just realized she had been fighting alongside Carlo and got to fulfill her greatest wish, only to then be met by his partially rotted -yet still recognizable- corpse being puppeted by the father who he despised.

This game has made me cry so many times Jesus Christ.

I cannot wait to play it again.

I will take that HC and run with it if you don't mind, it would be perfect as a little addition to my fic and it suits the whole "mischievous puppet" trope while adding a layer of personality to P beyond his compassion and curiosity. Him doodling stuff like that feels quite fitting.

If P truly is the serial doodler defacing the loading screens as I and others have suspected for awhile now, I’m really vibing with his sense of humor.

NO WAY DID GEPPETTO KIDNAP AND USE HIS SON'S BEST FRIEND, ROMEO, AFTER HE HAD ALREADY BEEN KIDNAPPED BY A SERIAL KILLER TO USE IN AN EXPERIMENT TO SEE IF YOU COULD TRANSFER SOMEONE'S ERGO INTO A PUPPET BODY

AND THEN USE THAT PUPPET OF HIS SON'S BEST FRIEND, ROMEO, IN REVENGE AGAINST THE FACTION OF ALCHEMISTS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS SON'S DEATH

AND ALSO FORCE HIS SON'S BEST FRIEND, ROMEO, TO USE A WEAPON MADE FROM THE BROKEN WEAPON OF THE SERIAL KILLER WHO KIDNAPPED HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE?!?!?

it's killing me that pinocchio's path in the main game is spent following sophia and simon manus (all associated with blue) while in the dlc romeo's path follows lea and arlecchino (all associated with red.) sophia and lea might be sisters but they're so different that they have their own colors. same with pinocchio and romeo. same with simon and arlecchino. Agh. Agh. Agh. Takes poison damage
