She deadpans, staring at him like he’s an idiot– a common glance, though not one meant to offend. “My aunt would have your head for saying that– like tea snobs, plants prefer sugar in their water. They’d shrivel up and die if I gave them salt water.” Seems she learned a few things working in the shop after all, even if tea making wasn’t one of them.

Flustered &  growing a bit red in the face, he begins doing his old job all over again. He glances over at the tea she set aside,  ❛Um... thanks but no thanks. How about we give it to the plants once it cools down? ❜

“Hmph, I’m sure it tastes just fine,” she replies, lifting the cup to her lips. Oh, was that a mistake. Perhaps he wasn’t being dramatic– this time.

“Yeah, I’ll just set this over here. You’re welcome to the rest of it,” she continued, moving from her seat to take his– but being sure to whisper in his ear along the way.

              “Tea snob.”
