Adam sends Lucifer a note by means of angelic magic that he doesn't need to deliver it in person. Just a cruel reminder of the extermination, the clock tower in the distance ticks another day closer [ next cleanse: 191 days] the sound of the bell ringing out as it does. It pains Charlie to watch sinners suffer but it must really pain him to watch her suffer like that, that's what this note is really about.

He stared at the letter for a longer time than needed. before tossing it to the floor near his bed. Recalling a time Adam would have never threatened anyone not even him. And yet his own choices cause this path. He was thankful Adam wasn't here to see the pain cross his expression. To see how Lucifer curled up on himself in regret. Charlie would be safe that day but not her friends. He had to fight to protect this hotel, And that meant facing Adam next time the extermination day happened.

And maybe Lucifer feared that, because after realizing his mistakes could he be the king of hell of pride and confidently anger Adam all over again. Plus he had no way of truly stopping him. He couldn't die by him!
