Demyx watches the older boy turn and glare at him. It wasn’t a new expression on Saix’s face, but he didn’t understand why he deserved a glare right now. Then Saix lies and he realizes the older boy was about to break the rules. Demyx frowns and crosses his arms.

“Xemnas says we’re not supposed to leave the castle alone. He says there’s heartless in the city.” All Demyx said was true, but that’s not why he said it. A mischievous smile appears on his face. “But if you don’t go alone you’re not breaking the rules.”

{ ☽ } He was... fairly certain he could take care of the Heartless by himself. He might be new and still learning his weapon but he was fairly capable with it. If all else failed, he’d probably go Berserk on all of his enemies. That new ability of his had happened a few times already. Only one of their other Nobodies, Axel, seemed capable of pulling him out of it. If he wasn’t around, he’d often be found exhausted afterward.

He didn’t particularly like the thought of traveling into the city with Demyx - after all the city hadn’t been in his initial plans - but if he could get even a breather from the castle for a while, that would be nice too. “...You’ll go with me? Why?” he asked hesitantly. He hadn’t exactly been nice to the blonde at all.

her friends had told her they were all busy today after school – what was a broke college student supposed to do ?! she didn’t get her allowance until friday, and it was only … 

wednesday !?

a groan && a whine later, she slipped out of the manga cafe and walked out the exit. she strolled down the sidewalk, happily staying out of others’ way and trailing her fingertips along the brick walls. everyone seemed to be on their phones or busy rushing off to the next place. it was nice to just … walk outside.

a curious thing did seem to happen, though. if she’d been absorbed in a screen or daydreaming, usagi honestly wouldn’t have noticed.

an azure - headed man was walking down the street, donned in inky black clothing that reached all the way to his ankles. he looked … panicked, maybe ? usagi’s brow furrowed in confusion. the residents of tokyo didn’t particularly take kindly to strangers unless something major happened, so they, for the most part, avoided or simply ignored him. 

the blonde moved towards him, reaching out to touch his shoulder and hoping not to startle him. “ are – are you okay ? “

{ ☽ } He didn't mind the fact that most were keeping their distance from him. People made him anxious with a heart. It was better to think straight too, think of some sort of plan. Was there somewhere he could hide in for a while? He didn't think it would be for long once he'd been discovered missing, but he'd take what taste of freedom he could get.

Isa wasn't too startled at the touch to his shoulder but he did tense initially. Turning to face her, green hues that seemed like they'd seen far too much for the young age he seemed - perhaps no more older than sixteen, maybe seventeen - fixed on her curiously. The most noticeable thing other than perhaps his hair was a scar in-between his eyes that took form of the letter X. Where had he come from? He didn’t seem to have any plans if his next questions were anything to go by.

"O-Oh, I um... yes, I'm okay." As okay as Isa could be, given the situation. "I'm just new around here.” That wasn’t a complete lie. “Would you happen to know of a hotel or an inn of some sort I could stay in for a while?"

Ava had completely lost track of how many months it had been since she had seen anyone. It was as if everyone had just…disappeared. The last thing she could remember was hearing muffled noises and voices, too distant to make out any words, and then there was nothing. Well, no, that wasn’t completely true. She remembered hearing Isa and Lea. She remembered them yelling, screaming as something happened to them out of view from where she was being kept.

As much as she had hated the experiments, the questions, the poking and prodding, it was the silence that terrified her the most once it seemed everyone was gone. As if, once again, she had been left behind, torn away from her friends. Her only companion became her own thoughts, and even then she tried to block them out for the most part. Her mind would always turn against her, playing snippets of memories of times long past. Memories she would rather not remember. The only good thing that came back to her was her name.

Eventually, once her mind stopped betraying her, once she was certain she was completely alone, Ava tentatively made her way out of the place she’d come to know as her ‘home’ for who knew how long. Bleary-eyed and unaccustomed to her surroundings, she stumbled along for a while until she found herself in a completely unfamiliar location. Perhaps it was an unexplored area of the world she knew. Perhaps it was a completely different world altogether. Regardless, the only things she could focus on were the night sky above her and the familiar blue head of hair gazing up at the moon.

“Isa! You’re still alive!”

{ ☽ } Brought of his train of thought by an all-too familiar voice, one he thought he might never hear again, still-green hues widened. His head snapped in the direction he'd heard her voice, and he could've sworn he'd felt something akin to his heart jump. That surely couldn't be possible though, because he no longer had one.

At least, that's what he'd been told.

"...I-I am... more or less."

Even then seeing her for once in the light and not just by the dimly lit dungeon, he still had doubts. Yet there was no mistaking that voice. One him and Lea Axel were sure to never forget.

When his feet started working again, he was quick to close the distance between them and he was at her side. They'd gone down one day to visit her and she'd just... disappeared. After that everything changed and their lives had never been the same. Now he not only had a scar in the shape of an X in between his eyes but he was merely a shell of what he once was. Now he was what they called... a Nobody. Thankfully she was not only still alive, but seemed to have been unaffected by the changes they'd gone through. Hopefully she'd gotten out in time.

"I... Is it... really you?" he spoke softly, holding out a gloved hand to her.
