Alecto herself was rather short, and made sure to always remember her wand. When she heard the other person ask for help she turned and aimed her wand at the book. “Sure. Makes a lot of sense to keep your wand with you permanently though. It makes it easier to grab stuff.” She handed over the book, she definitely didn’t mind helping another short person.

pandora’s slightly frustrated expression disappeared, beaming as the girl kindly agreed to help her out. ‘oh, thank you so much!’ she exclaimed, taking the book gratefully. she quickly checked that the book had what she needed, before turning back to the girl. ‘ugh, isn’t that the truth? i’m so silly, i switched out my bags and completely missed my wand. the one thing i actually needed!’ she rambled for a moment, cheeks slightly pink. ‘anyway, thank you! you’re an absolute life saver.’

“I got that for ya!” Gideon grinned, reaching easily to grab the book down for the girl and handing it to her. “A little short, aren’t you? They need some step stools in here or something. Though, haven’t you got your wand?” Gideon babbled, stepping back out of the way, but still continuing to talk. Gideon was known as a talker, a fast talker even at times. It was something that a lot of people found at fault when it came to Gideon, but he was always just so happy and willing to talk to anyone. “Course, my mum says you shouldn’t use magic for everything, you never know ‘bout muggles being ‘round.” he shrugged. 

she had barely finished her sentence before the boy was reaching for the prized book, pandora beaming gratefully up at him. he certainly had the height advantage for it, then again most people tended to be at least half a foot taller than her. she took the book eagerly, skimming through it to make sure it had the section she needed, before she looked back up at him. ‘thanks!’ pandora exclaimed appreciatively, knowing she probably would’ve spent another fifteen minutes without his help. she smiled as he went on, enjoying the company after studying for so long. ‘sounds like you’ve got a smart mum, there. but—’ she leaned in conspiratorially, ‘i don’t think you’ll be finding many muggles ‘round these parts.’ she added, very seriously before breaking out into a wide grin.

being petite was not one of pandora’s favorite things. barely reaching five feet made doing certain things around the castle particularly more difficult. studying was one of those things. it might not have seemed like it, reading a book and scribbling notes was simple, after all. what wasn’t simple was needing a book on the top shelf. and, of course, she had chose to leave her wand behind, of course she had. after enough attempts of jumping and waving her hands around, she finally turned to the other person in the aisle. “d’you think you could help?“ she asked politely, cheeks turning slightly pink.

(   ╾   ★           sitting near the black lake, grains of wet sand clinging to his bare toes as he fiddled with the apple ipad ( tablet ) his parents had given him a few days before the start of the new year as congratulations for making it to his seventh & final year without fail or issue, lines of concentration formed between his eyebrows. for a good fifteen minutes now, remus had been attempting to catch the giant squid on camera. but the creature seemed rather camera-shy & refused to stay still long enough for him to tap the picture icon. “five seconds╾that’s all i ask,” he said in a tone that was almost pleading. “please?”

pandora grinned at the boy, having been silently spectating his struggle for a few minutes now. it was an amusing sight, to say the least. the comedic timing of it all was just perfect; the squid would emerge to the surface just long enough to get remus’ attention, but as soon as he focused the tablet and went to take the picture, the squid was gone, almost mockingly sinking back into the water, leaving nothing but waves in his absence. "you know," pandora started with an airy laugh, "i might have an idea that could help."

Peter gave a small smile with a small little laugh. “That was a good one Pandora.” he said looking at her. “Where did you even come up with that one? Since I never heard of it.”

pandora beamed when peter chuckled at her joke, her face a picture of joy. peter had always been so nice to her, always listened to what she had to say, whether it was something of extreme importance, or just little things like her silly jokes. she didn’t know if he knew, but she was grateful for it. "thanks, peter." pandora smiled, tilting her head to the side and scrunching her nose. "i thought of that one on the train," she shrugged coyly, smiling again as she changed the subject. "so, how was your break? do anything exciting?"

"wait, no, you’ll love this one!" pandora interjected quickly, clearing her throat and grinning from ear to ear. "how did the lion get into the house?" she waited approximately two and a half seconds before answering the question. "through the gryffindor!" she finally delivered, nearly bouncing up and down in her seat as she gauged their reaction to the joke.

what’s up guys gals and non-binary pals!! ( yes that’s me paraphrasing thomas sanders lol oops ) first of all I’M SUPER HYPE FOR THIS RP, aight now that’s out of the way i’m myah! i’m 24, go by she/her, and am a huge nerd for all things marauders era, so you bet your cute lil bums i’m excited to be here! 

below the cut is some stuff about pandora ( or as i call her, panda ) but i’ve also got an about page here, and my connections page here! (both are a bit bare bones rn sorry!)

okay so here we go!! some facts and headcanons about my babe 

she’s a lot like luna in some ways (similar personality, though a bit more sociable) and physically luna is almost a complete mini me of her mum (which is honestly so heartbreaking but those are headcanons for another time)

in some ways she’s not like luna though, she’s quite a bit more vocal than luna typically is, and when it concerns topics she’s passionate about, she will happily go on rants for about eight hours straight

she’s kind of like a total flower child/hippie? she loves wearing flowers in her hair and flowy dresses and she’s honestly just so kind and loving and chooses to see the best in people

she’s pan, which means she loves any and all sex/genders, and she’s the kind of person who loves and loves and loves and doesn’t know how to stop, she honestly thinks all that love is just going to come pouring out of her chest one of these days ( she likes to think that would look like daisies and sunflowers bursting from her heart with a rainbow in the background, told you she was a hippie )

like a typical ravenclaw, pandora is very intelligent and witty, and she’s proficient in all the academic areas, but she absolutely thrives in charms and potions, and often enough she can be found studying both subjects outside of the classroom

SHE LOVES ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING ASTRONOMY RELATED siriusly she’s such an astrophile and if you can’t find her in the common room or the library she is 99% likely to be in the astronomy tower, whether or not it’s dark outside (she loves astronomy and stars and space so much she named her cat aurora like what a dork)

she also finds divination quite fascinating, and while she certainly doesn’t have ‘the gift’ she is generally interested in both the class and the subject, she likes practicing with tea leaf readings and tarot cards occasionally

even though she’s a half-blood, her parents and most of her family are magical in some form or another, so she hasn’t spent much time around muggles, and it’s because of this that she’s quite interested in them, and she loves learning about all their technology, and she’s so intrigued by all the things they are capable of doing (she finds planes FASCINATING like how on earth is magic not involved they’re literally levitating!!)

that being said, it’s probably obvious where she stands on blood purity, and she honestly has no time for any of this pureblood elitism, try and tell her that muggleborns and half-bloods are any less competent than purebloods and she will shut you down

she doesn’t believe in the whole house stigma thing, she’s just as happy being friends with slytherins and hufflepuffs as she is ravenclaws and gryffindors, as long as someone has a kind heart and good intentions that’s all she cares about

though she’s very passionate about a lot of things, she’s still quite timid and introverted, her voice is light and airy and she mumbles under her breath a lot and she just has so much to say but at times it just never comes out quite the right way
