neville barely had a chance to react when something collided with him, knocking him over before he could try and catch his balance again. the bag of soil he’d been lugging along for the botanical garden hit the sidewalk and split, dirt going everywhere before he glanced up at the hand outstretched. “seamus?” he asked, forgetting about everything else for a moment and being relieved to see a familiar face. “i’m fine, i’m fine. better now that i see it’s you.”
The familiar voice certainly surprised him as the soil dust settled to show an old friend. “Neville? Well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes man!” Seamus exclaimed as he helped the other up. “Bloody hell, I thought today was bad, but this has certainly made things better!”

It all came out of nowhere and Hughie hadn’t expected that when he turned the corner, he’d be flat on his ass seconds later. Taking the guy’s hand, he let him help him up before brushing the dirt off of his jeans. “Yeah yeah, I’m fine. Don’t worry about it. It was a little unexpected but I came out of it unharmed. Are you alright? You seem a little distracted.”
Checking a once over to make sure the guy wasn’t injured; Seamus almost let out a huge sigh of relief. “I guess.Well, just an unlucky day for me. Honestly with the day I had, I wouldn’t be surprised if my pup had torn my place to shreds.” He shrugged.

with the school year winding down, beth was finally feeling like she had time to read something other than textbooks and music. she had practically skipped to the local bookstore after her workday had ended. with the door to the bookstore halfway open, beth paused at the sound of a stranger’s call. she turned to look over her shoulder at the other woman just in time to see her slip her face behind a curtain of hair. “of course,” beth said with a bright smile. she opened the door the rest of the way and held it open. with her free hand, she tucked some loose strands of hair behind her ear, them motioned for the girl to head in before her. “you look like you could use a feel-good recommendation,” beth said. the other woman seemed a bit down. “have you ever read mornings with rosemary?”
Sophie smiled as she stepped inside, looking back at the girl - who also shared a familiar feature. Though Sophie was still somewhat self-conscious, she was in awe of the younger female in front of her seeming so confident. Blinking as her words registered in her mind, Sophie smiled again. “I actually have, and I did really enjoy it. Not usually my cup of tea but it certainly left a mark for me to open up for more with a similar idea. Any you would suggest?”

Bucky shrugged his shoulders. He didn’t mind. It was a good way of getting into conversation, anyway. Unless the person mistaking him for an employee was rude, of course. “Oh, I see. That’s pretty cool. What kind of shop do you have?” He asked, curious about what he could be selling. Historic artefacts, and new technology all really interested him. He enjoyed the story behind the older items, and the use of the newer.
It always made Wu Xie smile when someone seemed interested in any history or antiques. “Oh, antiques. Kind of a family business.” Was it the whole story? No, but the guy didn’t need to fully know that his family also does grave robbing for research and protection. “But I have recently started to liaise with the museum to make sure the artifacts are real.” He stated with a shrug.

“oh” amy wrinkled her nose “people ask for bartenders numbers? i have never noticed or heard about it before. don’t worry, i will not ask” she wasn’t much over to the bar, it was usually her friends from work who ordered the drinks “neat, thank you”
Yoshi raised his eyebrows. “What, you saying a person can’t fall in love while they’re working?” He jested as he set the glass down in front of her, pouring two glasses. “One neat bourbon for the lovely lady, and one for myself.” He grinned mischievously as he took a sip of his own. “Now I am only allowed one drink whilst working, so please no nonsense about me drinking on the job. That and my mate is the owner, so he never minds as I pay for it anyway.”

“You have a suit in a beige color?” Heather asked. She didn’t think she would ever meet someone in real life that would wear a suit like some old preacher but that is interesting. “Oh, well, thank you. I mean, I guess the pants aren’t too horrible, they do seem to fit decently.”
“Well I’m sure it doesn’t wash me out, I mean -” He stated, waving his hand over himself. “Ya boy’s pretty pasty white.” Seamus chuckled. “Hey, me mum has always said if pants or dresses have pockets for girls, take them and roll with it.”

looking up at the man who’d approached her, wen qing offered him a small smile, nodding at the empty seat nearby. “i’m alone, if you need the chair. i don’t mind.”
Wu Xie had been looking around, he was surprised of how packed it was despite it being late in the evening. Noticing the girl who offered her spare chair, he sat down whilst placing his books on the table. “Thank you. I do apologise though, I’m sure you weren’t really expecting to have company.”

okay, first of all…
ow.
that was pretty sore. but after a split-second inventory check, hana knew she was alright. nothing broken after all. she thought for a moment, then took the offer hand, and with her free hand pushed herself up. “yeah, don’t worry about it. for some reason, this seems to happen a lot. are you alright?” normally people bowling into others like had their own issues. at least he had apologised.
“I’m so sorry.” Gosh, Seamus felt terrible for knocking over the woman and all her stuff. As he helped her up, he apologised again. He bent down to help pick up the items he made her drop. “It’s been an unlucky day for me, so this honestly I’m not surprised. I didn’t see you, it was me fault.” His accent was a little thicker as he ran his hand through his hair as he stood up, holding the items out to her. “You’re not hurt, are you?”

scmpiternal:
As an avid reader, Bucky was more or less a regular at the bookstore. He’d happily read anything from comic books to biographies. Though, he found himself questioning the events of the books claiming to be true events. A voice snapped him out of his train of thoughts as he read the back of a book he knew very well; The Hobbit. “Hm? Oh…” Blue eyes fell on the male in front of him as he processed what he had asked. “I don’t really know… I don’t actually work here, but if they do I think they might keep them just around the corner here? I remember seeing some books about it. I didn’t check the publishing dates, though…” he admitted sheepishly, offering a small smile. “Is it greek specifically you’re reading about, or artefacts in general?”
“My bad. I think I’m just so tired from running around town reading that I think I’ve forgotten that most people are customers and not actually staff.” Wu Xie sheepishly looked around briefly in embarrassment. He noticed the book in the other’s hand - a classic, with some of the adventure somewhat reminding Wu Xie of his own. “Well artifacts, but Greek artifacts specifically. I normally dabble in Eastern antiques with my shop but a client of mine asked to certify a recent purchase”

Sophie had honestly not the best day. A lot of people had stared at her scar with disgust more than usual, and a child started to cry. Her manager told her to take the rest of the day off. Sighing as she walked towards her sanctuary - an small bookstore, she saw someone opening the door. “I’m sorry, could hold the door please?” She asked, subconsciously brushing her hair over her face to cover the scar.

Was that [BENEDETTA GARGARI]? Oh no no, that was just [SOPHIE COLLINS], a [CANON CHARACTER] from [SHADOWHUNTERS/INFERNAL DEVICES]They are [TWENTY-THREE] years old and [ARE NOT] aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can’t stray from this city for long.
Sophie has some weird feeling that something is happening but is not sure what.
She feels like she came to Washington for a reason but doesn’t remember anymore
I would say she’s like semi aware but doesn’t know everything yet or remember her past
She just believes she came from London for freedom and to find herself
She still does have the “Sight” - where glamours don’t work on her.
She was pulled from just before she Ascended and married Gideon Lightwood
She does have the scar along her face
She is a waitress and barista at a little cafe
She’s still a little work in progress but I should have everything for her finished by the weekend.

Seamus was running on a record for the unluckiest day with his job. His dog poppet tore a hole in his new suit, he spilled coffee all over his boss and got whacked in the head from a Karen as he was trying to get a statement about their trial. Sighing, it didn’t make things any worse as he stood over the person he just bowled over with his hand out. “I am so sorry, are you alright mate?”

“It’s alright. Maybe I have the sort of face where I look the type.” Tessa said, waving off his apology easily. It wasn’t like she considered being seen as a bookstore employee to be a bad thing by any means. Tessa hummed, nodding in understanding as she glanced around the store. “I think the history section is just two shelves down from you, though it doesn’t look like they have it separated by the specific history topics.” So he’d probably just be stuck looking through each book one at a time to see if they were helpful. “Any reason you’re currently interested in Greek artifacts?” She asked, unable to stop herself from feeling curious.
“Well I do apologise again.” Wu Xie smiled faintly as he stood up. He knew he himself often was judged and assumed to be clumsy just because of how gangly he looked despite being quite the adventurer. “Oh, a client at my shop just bought an artifact believed to be from the twelfth century Greek era and they wanted me to certify that its authenticity. I usually only have the pleasure of dabbling with Eastern historical goods.”

Apollo was browsing but smiled when he heard the question. “I do not have a book, but I have me, which is good enough, as I am a Greek god. What can I do?” He didn’t mind helping people. He was becoming more friendly for some reason.
The guy must be joking. Though Wu Xie had come face to face with some weird monsters over the years... Gods? Surely not. “Nice joke.” Closing the book, he looked at the man. “If you don’t have an idea, you could have said so.”

not what she expected a bartender to say. an eyebrow raised “what makes you think i wanted your phone number?” amy wasn’t there for bad pick-up lines. she had heard similar before. and she might be married, she think, she wasn’t sure if the man in her dreams was her husband “just give me a bourbon, please”
“Well it was a joke, but also because I have had about five offers for a ‘good time’ already.” He stated, with the air quotes. As he turned around to get a decent brand of bourbon, Yoshi turned his head to look at the red-haired female. “Neat, or on the rocks?”

it takes a moment for tommy to process the question once he turns to look at the other , but eventually he shrugs. “ i don’t know. i don’t work here , ” he responds. while he enjoys the quieter atmosphere of a good bookstore , he doesn’t get enough reading done to prove himself as a good employee , so this certainly isn’t his workplace. “ but a book like that sounds expensive , so it’s probably a special request. the owner might have it in the back. ” // @ofrainandgraves
Sorry, I didn’t mean to assume. It’s been a long day.” Wu Xie sighed as he looked at the other whilst pushing his glasses to their original position on his nose. “Sometimes they can be, but you can find all sorts of treasures in small bookstores I have found.”

despite knowing much about music, he always loved to read and learn more. after the street performance, he entered the bookstore. a laugh escaped his throat at the question asked to him, he looked over at the person “you are asking the wrong person. i barely went to school to know what that is, sorry. music is more my kind of thing. wait, i must ask, can you see me? or maybe you are talking with someone else, yeah you must be” he turned his head to look around but he couldn’t see anyone else “nah, you are totally talking with someone else. how could i think someone can see me”
Wu Xie sighed. He honestly thought for a second the person was older, but he seemed to be just out of high school. But the younger male’s words piqued his ears, it somewhat reminded him of some familiarity with his family’s past. “Dude, are you on something? You’re not invisible.” He said with a snap of the book he was holding.
