what do you hate about your muse?

i remember watching the movie & HATING the fact that she’s such a good pilot, was able to maneuver away from those tie fighters in the falcon BUT NEVER EVEN TRIED LEAVING JAKKU IN THE PAST AJSFHSDK LIKE BITCH WHAT THE FUCK ! i mean its fine i get it I GET IT she was waiting for her family. but i hate that she waited for so long lmao. honestly it frustrates me and breaks my heart at the same time.

Why did you decide to write your muse?

this is going to sound super cliche and dumb but i felt connected to her as soon as she came on screen during tfa. at the time the movie came out, it was really the only thing i found joy in. i actually talked to my therapist about how i feel so connected to her, and that i wasnt really sure why. but i really resonated with her story, being abandoned & feeling stuck on jakku, waiting for someone to come back for her. she told me that feeling trapped is typically a side effect of depression and it totally made sense lmao. ever since then i’ve just latched onto her. she gives me hope that someday i’ll have the strength to take control of my life & go on to do something amazing. i honestly just love her so much  i can barely put it into words. i know there are a million and one rey rpers out there and usually i’d let that intimidate me away from portraying her, but she’s just different. she really is. i love her, and i love that other people love her.

i also grew up watching star wars, the universe is so HUGE which is why i love it so much, there’s always something new to learn! it gets to be a bit daunting at times but i love exploring it more than anything!!

Um literally everything? she deserves the entire fucking galaxy and nothing less? real talk tho, because we don’t know much about her past, i mostly just wish she had the opportunity to grow up with a family & not completely on her own. i wish she was raised understanding the force, imagine how strong she would be now after a life of training!!

4. If you could tell your muse one thing, what would you tell them? What would they say?

Oh JESUS where to begin. I would probably tell her that her strength and resilience has given me more strength than she’ll ever know.

She would probably be confused as to how a scavenger from jakku could make such an impact, but she’d appreciate it nonetheless. I don’t think she’d say anything, maybe just a hug will do. And it would do.

9. do you enjoy putting your muse through angst? what do you think would break their heart the most?

ahhahhha i DOOO and not only because im a stone cold heartless bitch!! but also because i genuinely believe rey has the emotional intelligence of a POPTART because she’s barely ever had emotional connections to other people! i enjoy putting her through these situations because it forces her to come to terms with herself, it makes her stronger, and also grows her bonds with others which we all know is something she NEEDS. my child only wants to feel chosen & loved.

night was falling upon the sands of jakku. TIGHTLY did her hands encircle the grip of her staff - rarely ever was there an easy night on this planet - as rey trekked onwards towards her speeder, bathed in the golden light of the setting sun. with her barren && desolate surroundings, it was difficult for her not to notice the foreigner walking slightly behind her. 

“if you’re heading for town, it’s the opposite direction,” she turned back, speaking to the stranger over the vicious wind. 

“anymore forward & you’ll find yourself DROWNING in the dunes. if i were you, i would travel quickly; jakku is not kind towards WANDERERS.”

air was propelled from her lungs as the force met her core with a violence so jarring her entire BODY was propelled backward, her saber RIPPED from her grip and her bloodstream GASPING for OXYGEN. 

her thoughts && consciousness were left astray, her strength FORSAKING her with each breath she anguished for. ears ringing, vision hazy from the b l o o d trickling from her temple, and still her hands could FEEL the planet jolting beneath her, it’s core unstable to match her own MIND, it’s surface C R U M B L I N G just as the balance within her. she was out of time.

                  this can’t be it, this won’t be----

yet as her legs fought to give her foundation, Rey was only reunited with the frigid, eroding turf. Hazel orbs scanned the ground surrounding her for any trace of her saber -- NOTHING. a sharp breath formed a TIGHTNESS in her chest -- she was scared. sight still fixed on the ground though she was still able to sense the dark figure LOOMING above her. 

“ WELL--? ” her voice rasped above the CACOPHONY of chaos surrounding them. “ what are you waiting for ? ”
