i am !  i’ve been on a brief hiatus, firstly bc my laptop was in repair  &  now bc i’m working on a couple of other blogs that i'm gonna kick off at the same time as klaus, but i should be back here properly within the next week or two !

I’M STILL HERE I SWEAR

my laptop is currently in repair which is v inconveniently timed after the return of my Writing Motivation™, so i won’t be posting any replies until i get that back because all of my icons etc are on there  —  however, i’ve borrowed back my old laptop from the family member i gave it to which means i’ll still be steadily getting drafts done over the time it takes to fix  &  i’ll post them all once it’s back 💜

His lips quirk just slightly and not in the pathetic ‘You belong in a nut-bin’ kind of way he might be used to. He seemed amused more than anything else. How difficult. To see the dead when one didn’t want to. To have spirits selfishly invade one’s life at random intervals.

“My mother died giving birth to me. Later, as a spirit, she tried to kill me.” He admitted freely, though without any semblance of emotion.  He felt nothing for her and she had never been a mother to him. They might as well be talking about the weather. That was precisely how causal he addressed the subject.

Red flag.

Without another word, he disappeared from Klaus’s sight and reappeared a split second later behind him. It happened so fast that he had to tap him on the shoulder, that smug little smile still in place. For now, he thought it best he remain playful. Working up to the whole antichrist bit could take awhile.

“Transmutation. A fancy word for teleportation.”

Forget skeletons ;  this conversation has swiftly  grown  rife  with  bombshells.

Lips  barely  have  time  to  part  in  response  to  the  first  series  of  revelations  —  and,  oh,  a  response  was  forthcoming,  because  what  ?   Okay,  mother  lost  in  childbirth,  that  sucks,  but  it’s  a  palatable  one,  something  he  wouldn’t  have  blinked  at ;   doesn’t  have  much  room  for  shock,  does  he,  coming  from  the  background  he  does.  But  —  murder  attempt,  less  so.  Murder  attempt  courtesy  of  said  deceased  mother,  much  less  so. 

Regardless,  whatever  startled  return  he’d  planned  on  producing  tapers  off  before  it  can  begin,  and  as  he  whirls  to  follow  the  direction  of  the  tap  at  his  shoulder,  mouth  snaps  shut  once  more  —  opens  —  shuts  a  second  time.  Finally,  voice  catches  up  to  speed,  and  he  can  do  what  he  does  best :  buy  himself  time  to  process  with  as  much  nonchalance  as  he  can  muster.

     ❛     Okay.  Wow.  That’s  —  I  mean,  if  we  were  competing,  I  think  your,  uh,  your  thing  wins  out.  Points  for  demonstration  and  all.  Y’know,  I  had  a  brother  who  could  do  that.  Hey,  you’re  not  one  of  the  other  kids,  are  you  ?   Born  October  first,  mom  hadn’t  been  pregnant,  that  whole  deal  ?   Dad  did  say  there  were  more  of  us.  ‘Cause  if  that’s  not  what  this  is,  feel  free  to  fill  me  in.  Any  time,  no  pressure  !  But  also,  like,  now  would  be  awesome.     ❜

“hey, you gotta light?” dex asks, an unlit cigarette dangling from his lips. he’s normally not one to be seen without a lighter, but he was running late to his gig and had forgotten it this time. he stands in the alleyway outside the bar, bulky acoustic guitar still slung across his chest, and one hand tucked in his pocket. “normally i wouldn’t ask, but my nerves are killing me, and i gotta take the edge off somehow.”

gaze flicks up where he lounges against the brick  of  the  alley’s  wall,  brows  quirked   —   this  is  a  bizarrely  convenient  occurrence.  he’d  only  intended  to  step  outside  for  a  minute  or  so,  take  a  smoke  break,  but  he’s  long  since  run  out  of  cash  to  toss  at  the  bartender  as  it  is.  that,  coupled  with  the  brisk  evening  air  swiftly  sobering  him  of  what  he  has  had  and  the  fact  that  he’s  already  burned  his  way  through  the  rest  of  the  now - empty  pack  of  cigarettes  discarded  within  a  pocket,  means  his  excuses  to  procrastinate  his  return  to  the  grim,  unforgiving  space  of  the  academy  are  rapidly  depleting.  he’s  always  thought  its  rooms  are  far  larger  than  necessary,  but  he  supposes  one  needs  somewhere  to  fit  all  the  shitty  memories.
