Anyone who knew Han knew he wasn’t the most honest of guys. It didn’t make him a bad guy, necessarily, but definitely dishonest. So when he heard what sounded like a crash of a ship, he wasn’t initially concerned of whoever was inside. He wanted to know what parts it had, what he could scavenge from it, and possibly how much he’d be able to make from it. Maybe he’d be able to pay back a few of his debts from it - most likely not though.
As he approached the scene, confusion set in. This couldn’t be the Falcon. It looked exactly like his ship, though maybe aged slightly and with a few adjustments he couldn’t place, but how could it be? As he debated it, he studied it some more. He knows his ship anywhere, it was everything he held dear, and deep down he knew it was his. Explaining how this was is what caused the disbelief. He had left his ship in the forest, not crashed it here.
Noticing a young girl, Han huffed. He didn’t like getting caught up in the affairs of others, or having to care about people. Seemed a waste of time, if you asked him, but she looked roughed up and, well, she had just suffered through and survived a pretty decent crash. Letting his good nature get the best of him, he approached her as she attempted to stand.
When she fell, he actually rushed towards her instead, his instincts taking control. “Take it easy, would you?” he said as he kneeled beside her. “Where’d you get this ship?” was his next question, before he could stop himself from asking. “You alright?” he followed with, figuring it was only polite to ask - not that he was exactly known for being polite, but making the attempt anyway.
Soft noises echoed in her ears, a melody that filled the silence as Rey slowly danced in that state between wakefulness and unconsciousness. Her eyelids felt heavy and closed almost immediately as she tried to open her eyes, her own breathing reaching her ears. Where was she? Was she dead? Those questions loud in her mind; flashes of running, raging breathing, screams –Han falling as a last breath left his body– made her heart race painfully fast against her ribcage.
The pounding in her head intensified, welcoming her back to the reality as she opened her eyes. A clear blue sky greeted her and Rey blinked a few times trying to get used to the sunlight that hit her face. The anxiety of not having control was bubbling the pit of her stomach, her breath got caught in her throat and there was a sharp pain in her stomach. One of her hands instinctively went to cover her heart and Rey closed her eyes again. It was the kind of sensations that visited her every time she had a nightmare, but there were no memories of such.
They had lost control of the Falcon somehow; the panic taking over her, the fear. And they had crashed, hard and fast, and everything had gone dark after that. Her eyes snapped open and the air found a way into her lungs as she gasped. The metallic taste in her mouth, poisoning her buds, reminded her how alive she still was. Her hand slowly reached up to wipe the blood away, realizing now she had bitten herself in her sleep.
As she pushed herself up, the nausea rushed through her and her empty stomach clenched painfully. She had to find her friends and make sure they all were safe, but as she tried to stand, the ground beneath her feet trembled so violently that she fell on her ass.

As trusty as he swears the Falcon is, there’s been more than a few times where it’s let him down. Not overall, but in certain moments it was inevitable. This just so happened to be one of those moments. Still, his loyalty to his ship went untouched. It was the most important item in his life and he treasured it greatly.
“Piece of space junk,” he said aloud before kicking the side of the ship. Judging by his current surroundings, which was all forest, he had a hunch that getting what he needed to make a repair wasn’t going to be easy. He had to try though, which is why he was currently making his way through the trees and roots, his faithful blaster at his side.
As repetitive as the scenery was, Han knew he wasn’t getting anywhere even after at least a half hour or so of walking. “Blast,” he muttered in annoyance as he stopped for a moment, looking around. There had to be something that would indicate some sort of chance, or at least someone who could point him in the right direction.
He wasn’t usually the type to ask for help, but the aimlessness of his current travels were growing tiresome. After his observation, he noted that there wasn’t much to go on. It looked as though the trees lightened up ahead, however, so he went with that. What else was there to do? Soon he’d just turn back and sleep on it at the Falcon.
For now he continued. As he entered an unfamiliar grove, he noticed someone. The way he was dressed reminded him of someone - and not in a good way. Keeping a hand on his blaster, in case he had to make a sudden move, he confidently headed closer.
“Hey,” he said first, his voice more gentle than usual in an attempt to not surprise the stranger. “Know where a guy can grab some parts around here?”

“A couple of days, that’s all. Three, max,” Han explained, keeping his tone as casual as possible. He’s learned that if he acts like it’s no big deal, sometimes he can make people believe it wasn’t. She seemed more sharp than the usual bounty hunters he was forced to deal with, but this was his only shot at getting some extra time. He had a bet going on that he was sure would help him pay off all his debts and then some. It had to.
“Listen, lady, I’m no liar,” he said, using a finger to cross over his heart and imply that he was telling the truth. “I’m not saying you have to trust me, I’m just saying that I’m someone who already has a lot of trust,” he said with an indifferent shrug. Threats were something he was often on the receiving end of, so he wasn’t phased by it. “But if you’re into the hair pulling, I think I can get on board with that,” he added with a nod as he smirked once again.
He scoffed when she questioned his age, “Of course I am, look at me! I’m a man,” he declared, making his voice as firm as possible to prove his point. “There might not be yet, but you wait. There could be,” he raised his eyebrows suggestively. “We’ll see,” he said, mumbling mostly, as he began to lead the way inside.

flashback | kanti x han
Kanti didn’t usually take these types of jobs, they often ended up far to mundane for her, but she had gotten into another fight with Deo and wanted to avoid her brother as much as she could. The credits she got for it were good enough for her to take it serious, plus she didn’t really want to piss of the customer.
She hadn’t expected this, a teenaged boy. It reminded her of her brothers, they had owed quite a bit of money just a few years ago. “How much extra time do you need?” She asked looking bored with the conversation, not wanting to tip him off that she was already willing to give it to him. Her eyes narrowed, she didn’t look too amused by this,“Anyone who says they’re trusted is lying. If you think you can get out of this by making me trust you, well then I’m going to drag your sorry ass to him by your hair.”
“Are you even old enough to drink yet, kid?” Her lips were pressed tightly, her anger for her brother carrying on to this conversation. “There is no you and me. And I’m already having an amazing time.” It seemed impossible, but her voice got even drier at that comment. “I’ll go in with you, but I’m not having anything. We’re going to talk about what’s going to happen here.”
