Wouldn't happen to me.
This weekend was father's day. I was at home with him and the rest of my family (save my sister who's out of the province). We were doing what we often do, which is sit around the island in the kitchen talking with each other. The topic got onto what I'd been up to recently and I told my family that the fencing club I'm a member of recently did a news spot on the local news station. The purpose of the spot was to promote our youth camps latter this summer and to encourage more women and girls to join.
My brother said that it was a good idea to get more women to join because that would mean more guys would like to join. My partner and I both stopped and looked at him for a moment (she successfully suppressed the urge to yell at him). He continued to explain that guys like being with pretty women. My partner explained her displeasure at his line of thinking but it's troubled me ever since. That happened on Friday.
I've heard a lot about rape culture and I thought to myself that it wouldn't be me or my family. We're too educated and progressive for that. But there it was, out of my own brother's mouth. The main reason why attracting females to the sport is a good thing is because men will like to look at them, or want to date them.
I've never really been a fan of feminism. I believe that to truly have gender equality and openness we cannot focus on only half of the world's population. But after hearing my own brother say what he did, it disturbed me and I've been wondering ever since if I was wrong about feminism. I'm also wondering where my brother went wrong (or us as his family) to get him to think what he did.

Canadian election fraud.
"I am satisfied that is has been established that misleading calls about the locations of polling stations were made to electors in ridings across the country, including the subject ridings, and that the purpose of those calls was to suppress the votes of electors who had indicated their voting preference in response to earlier voter identification calls... that the most likely source of the information used to make the misleading calls was the CIMS database maintained and controlled by the CPC, accessed for that purpose by a person or persons currently unknown to this Court.
"...the evidence points to elaborate efforts to conceal the identity of those accessing the database and arranging for the calls to be made... calls appear to have been targeted towards voters who had previously expressed a preference for an opposition party (or anyone other than the government party)..."
