cherry: can you play any musical instruments or can you sing?

While she had plenty of skills that utilized her fingers, creating music though them was not one. Growing up in a brothel, Shae never really had the time, let alone the the means to pick up an instrument. When she got married to her husband and moved to Grozny, she finally did have the means to try and learn but nothing seemed to stick. She wanted to learn an instrument and be good at it — mostly just to try and be good at anything other than sex. But she would simply get bored too easily to keep up with learning everything; it just wasn’t for her.

And Shae should definitely not sing, ever. It’s a rule of hers: singing is not allowed unless alcohol is involved.

"I’ve tried, but I can’t pick up an instrument,” Shae said with a shrug. “And as for singing, It’s rather easy to tell whether or not you’re good at it. Even though I didn’t want to admit it for a long time, I’m just not good at singing.”

Her brows lifted at the interviewers as she added on, “But I will say, even though I hadn’t trained or anything, I do get a lot of compliments on my dancing.”

tangelo: if you could be any mythical creature, which would you be?

Shae was always interested in Greek mythology, studying up on all the different gods and their powers. She had always naturally gravitated toward Aphrodite for obvious reasons, but she had also found herself interested in the various creatures in Greek literature. The satyr always made her laugh; it reminded her of Tyrion with its exaggerated erection. She enjoyed the gorgons with their deathly glare and snakes for hair, but the siren was always her favorite creature.

“Easy. The sirens.” They were beautiful women either depicted as mermaids or half-woman/half-birds that attracted and seduced men with their sensuality, only to ravage and kill them. Her lips curled upward in a smirk as she explained, “They’re beautiful, but deadly.”

😳 What was my muse’s worst romantic/sexual relationship?

Shae’s eyes fluttered to a close, a low hum sounding as seemed to ponder the answer to the question. Her body was motionless, elbows on the armrests of the chair she was seated in, hands met and twined together in her lap. With her reputation, she was sure the interviewer had figured she was mentally skimming her long list of lovers, trying to recount the worst partner of all but this was not the case.

Rather Shae was trying to forget — desperately trying to pluck out the memory the interviewer had planted into her mind. The smell was the first thing that came back to her; his favorite drink was baijiu and he would drink so much that his sloppy kisses would leave remnants of the alcohol against her skin. She could instantly feel her ex-husband’s heavy hands, pinning her against their king-sized bed. He pressed her face against the sheets, a wet-spot of tears forming beneath her. It was then that she learned even Egyptian cotton could feel like sandpaper against your skin if you detested the person you were laying with.

It wasn’t news-worthy information. It wasn’t gossip about London’s elite that the entertainment magazines would eat up only to shit out some disgusting headline to grab readers. But they didn’t have to know that. The corners of her glossed lips turned upward, eyes slowly opening as she finally answered the question: “I’ve never kissed and told before.”
