For most of the students who were searching the rave desperately, they'd find no trace of G. As the minutes passed, the clock ticked away the chance to find whoever had sent the photo, their phones eventually chimed again with another set of messages that provided little info on who they had been looking for - other than they didn't find them.
@ironlvngs
g: looking for me ?? g: you're cold, cold, cold....
@ollieinoue, @anyaexe
g: nice try, but i'd expect more from you. g: considering both of your hobbies.
@sassa-fiske, @idaclarke
g: you'd think after i crashed your valentine's party, you two would be a bit smarter !!! g: the secrets you're desperate to cover up are just the start... g: so get ready to play with higher stakes, babes.
@aletheapierce, @cinnamonfm
g: remember when the investigator's office was broken into ?? g: here we were, all worried about what people would spill in the name of their so-called innocence. g: but everyone seemed to bite their tongues instead. g: guess you all know you're guilty.
@logiyande
g: please. you'll have to learn to be way more subtle than that if you're hoping to play this game g: maybe ask leaky about it sometime.... g: he picked up on my methods real quick, getting into the dean's office like that.
One student, who got a high vantage point, looking over the party so that even G couldn't miss them, got a reward...the slightest tidbit of info to reward their attempts.
@novadodson
g: you're smart, so i'll say it to you straight g: greer knew.
And then one pair, stumbled across where the picture had been taken. They would've found G - if G had been dumb enough to wait around. But, no...G was long gone. And all that was left was the tease of secrets that had brought them all there that night.
That G knew....and now some that they were about to know too.
@reinaazarolla
g: the effort is admirable. g: now, if only you had been a bit faster.... g: so so many people confided in greer. g: it was a good thing she could keep a secret - but you know just how good she was at that, don't you ?? g: me ?? not so much. g: so tell me, reina. which secret do you want me to spill ?? g: the person who dreamed up disappearing first ?? or the one who would never dare ??
@morrisxn02
g: the effort is admirable. g: now, if only you had been a bit faster.... g: so so many people confided in greer. g: it was a good thing she could keep a secret - but you know just how good she was at that, don't you ?? g: me ?? not so much. g: so tell me, edward. which secret do you want me to spill ?? g: one that involves greer nearly killing someone ?? or one where someone confided in her that they did ??
ooc: these texts are each directed at the individual character(s) tagged, but please continue to incorporate their reactions into the appropriate threads/paras - and if they received info (as vague as G is still being), feel free to have your muse share that !!! And for the muses who have a decision to make...please have them to do in either a thread or self para as well.

charlie might have been tempted to ignore the text. after all, she was known to say she had a decidedly uncurious mind. she was extremely cautious about not finding herself starring in a horror movie; she'd seen enough to know what happened to the promiscuous blonde. no, she'd had her share of ominous texts from g, and was starting to be convinced they were all bark and no bite, and she almost thumbed her way to delete the message.
until she saw the dress code.
maybe this was greer after all. she would know charlie could never resist a costume party.
metallic boots echoing loudly through the empty observatory, she meandered around with her phone as a flashlight, looking for anything that looked particularly saw-esque. "come out, come out, wherever you are," she crooned under her breath.

A sense of dread had taken up all the space in Mika's room. As she dressed, as she applied ridiculous makeup in an attempt to pass time, as she read and reread the texts and wondered how she'd managed to get herself wrapped up in this mess. She could trace it all back to one single choice— one single, stupid decision that she'd still swear had been a decision made selflessly. It didn't bring air back to the room, though, and sooner rather than later, she found herself fleeing the stifling space, wheeling across campus on her heelies as she headed for the hockey rink.
As a chronically early person, it was no surprise she'd gotten there fifteen minutes before she'd been told. Part of her hoped she'd catch this elusive G in the act, but as she shouldered through the doors, she was met with an icy chill and an empty rink. She ran her hands over her bare arms and wished she'd had enough forethought to bring a jacket. At least if she came face to face with G, she could cut her with her nipples.
The silence stretched on, uncomfortable and unsettling, and Mika spoke into the emptiness just so that she wouldn't feel so alone. So weak and helpless. "Hey, G— if you're here— do you take suggestions? Helpful criticism? Maybe you should actually do something at some point? Empty threats only work for so long, you know." Was it a good idea to bait an unknown threat? Probably not. But it was fine, anyway. Only the empty silence responded, leaving her to wonder and wait.

There was a little subsect of Nat's closet— the furthest, darkest corner— where she'd blindly reached, pulling free a glittery pleather body suit full of buttons, and buckles, and barely-there straps that left almost nothing to the imagination. She'd dressed in silence, her blood running cold through her veins.
Briefly she considered, as she donned and buttoned up a large trench coat, that maybe Greer had been receiving texts like this. Maybe that was why she'd disappeared. It sure made Nat want to disappear. She was rattled, her nerves shot, which she was sure had been the intention. But as she read through the messages once again before slipping her phone into her clutch, she wondered, truly, if this might finally be the end. Whatever that meant.
Her heels clicked against the floor, her teeth chattering for reasons that had nothing to do with temperature as she peered around the commons, unsure of what— or who— she might find.
Quietly, her voice reached out to the empty space. "Hello?"

so even if he had to wait fifteen minutes, so be it. link settled into a seat somewhere in a corner at the top, hoping that it was as hidden as he could be.... just in case. they almost wanted to not listen to g's order, dress ready to rave — and they didn't, for the most part, wearing an old linkin park black t-shirt over olive cargo pants. but much to his dismay, he couldn't help but add a little flair to his eyes.

The fact that Milo had come out for this stupid bullshit was saying something. He wanted nothing to do with G, or G's stupid games, or solving whatever was going on. It was pointless and people were just killing themselves on it if you were to ask him. He'd let better people than him deal with it. However, the taunt that if he did as he was asked and would find out who had been responsible for the information leak about not just him, but Link? Something he could perhaps hold over him - well, that was just too good to pass up. He was luckily not a stranger to raves so he had options in his closet, choosing something before heading out to the fieldhouse. He easily made his way in having usual access because -- well, he was who he was, and took a seat on one of the sets of bleachers, pulling out his phone and shining it around the large indoor arena to see if anyone was in there. Or to at least let someone else arriving see he was in there. "Make yourself known…" He said very quietly to himself, as he looked around.

parker's arms crossed over her chest, hands grasping at each opposite forearm as she traversed through campus. it was as though g was taunting her, right down to this very trek, what with alcott and the aquatic center being as far away on campus as any two things could possibly be. almost as though they wanted every possible person that might also be out and about to see her on her way.
the thought sent a shiver down parker's back, unsure of whether the wave of anxiety came from the idea of g or everyone else.
as she approached the hockey arena, parker came to a stop. for a few seconds she glanced around, heavily mascara'd lashes blinking around in search of another wondering body. when no one seemed near, she bent down to retrieve her phone from where it'd been tucked into the leg of her boot.
she reviewed the texts—for, likely, the twelfth time.
the pool. 11:00 pm. rave. you-know-who. flip the script. xx, g.
kiss-kiss my ass, parker inwardly groaned, drawing a deep breath before making the final approach to the pool. though she was tempted to call out, she kept quiet, wondering if there was something to the sneaking around of it all. but no one else seemed to be there yet, so, in a move that might've contradicted trying to be sneaky, she walked right up to the pool, eyes drinking in its lit waters. in its reflection, she almost caught a glimpse of greer, a hand rising to touch the hardly-strawberry blonde hair that fell over her shoulders.

The text Mari got that evening caused her stomach to turn, remembering all the other texts she had received, the valentine, all of it - she didn't understand what this person was trying to accomplish. What they seemed to have against her - or, maybe more accurately, against Greer. And as much as she wanted to close her eyes, pretend it wasn't happening...the opportunity to figure out who it was, what they wanted was one she couldn't pass up.
And there was no denying that Mari was good at sneaking around.
If the first clue was the boathouse, to the boathouse she'd go. She put on her best rave outfit - whatever the fuck that meant - even if it meant she'd look like an idiot as she made her way across the dark campus. At least it was a Saturday night, anyone she happened to see drunk and dressed to go out as it was. When she got to the boathouse - a place she had snuck into before, thanks to Greer - she flipped the flashlight on on her phone, glancing around the eerie darkness. "Hello?" she called out, wincing slightly as her voice echoed around her.

STATUS: Closed for ??? @ogden-narrator WHERE: The Performing Arts Practice Studios WHEN: May 6, 2023 at 11pm
Just hours ago Reina's phone was buzzing, with each text that came in. She thought it was someone wanting to plan a last minute outing, but her heart sank to the pit of her stomach when she saw who the messages were from. This was the first time G had instructed her to do something, and for a moment her mind went into a panic. Before the messages where just messages, empty words with no action but now she was being told to go somewhere. What would happen is she disobeyed? Well, Reina wasn't going to risk finding out.
Dress ready to rave, she thought, "Like an actual rave?" She muttered to herself as she swung the doors open to her closet and stared at the items hanging in front of her. "But we're also going to be sneaking around? G couldn't possibly mean a literal rave, right?" It made no sense to her, how were they supposed to sneak around if they were dressed for a rave. A rave, in her experience, is where people wear as little as possible, and quite often had bright colors, glow sticks, other light up accessories, and sometimes even neon body paint. The opposite of trying to hide and blend in the background. Also, what kind of rave would be held at the performing arts practice studios of all places?
Settling on a all black outfit with a shimmery makeup look, Reina was ready to head across campus. She also had a fanny pack she was wearing as a crossbody that she stored essentials - phone, keys, pepper spray, a pocket knife, a flashlight - and some other accessories she'd wear if she felt they were more fitting. They were ones of the light up sort to fit a rave setting.
The trek to the the studios was longer than usual as she paid extra attention to her surroundings. Trying to see if anyone else was sneaking around or if she was being watched. She couldn't have been the only one to receive a text from G, she was sure of that much. Once she stood in front of the building, she checked the time. She had 5 minutes to spare. With a deep breath, she went inside not knowing what to expect. She didn't wander far, Reina wanted to stay close to the exit just in case she needed to make a quick escape. It was dark, but not exactly pitch black. There was what little light from the outside world bleeding into the building through the windows and it seemed some of the rooms towards the back had some sort of light source left on, maybe a lamp or something small like that. She took out her flashlight but she didn't turn it on just yet. She listened instead, for any signs of another being there. Just who was it that G also sent here?
Reina determined she was the first one there and so found a spot where she felt safe enough to wait. A spot where she had a a clear path and visual of the main entrance, and it would be rather difficult to sneak up on her from behind. Now she was just playing the waiting game.

If he was being totally honest Ollie was intent on ignoring the texts. He was about to tell G to just fuck off, and that they already owed him a clue when suddenly he got a flurry of texts from Sam asking him what people wore to raves. Well, that made this much more interesting. He didn't know if she was who was going to be waiting for him outside the cemetery but they'd cross that if it ever came up. Instead he just patiently helped her pick something out and bid her goodbye when she had settled on something, before turning back to pick out clothes for himself as well. Luckily a rave was nothing Ollie was a stranger to. A typical Saturday night for him, really. He pulled out a black and yellow leather outfit, throwing that on, along with some LED light up kitty ears, and a glow in the dark pacifier strung along a glow in the dark rainbow beaded necklace. Then he took some Molly because it was a rave, right? Putting some of that in his pockets he finally made his way out the door and into the dark. Luckily it took quite a lot to scare Ollie and he was more interested in the cemetery than anything else. He leaned against one of the entrance walls, pulling his phone up and playing a couple days in Stardew Valley when he heard someone else approaching, looking around, and holding up the light of his phone, on accident aiming directly into the persons eyes, to see who it was.

The texts had been a surprise. She'd gotten them before at the pool party, but for the most part her year had been pretty normal. Until now. But it sent a jolt of panic through her, not for the reason you're thinking. She sent off about five texts to Ollie anxiously asking if he'd help her pick out something from her closet that would work at a rave. Eventually she settled on a red pleated skirt, and a top in the same color, with knee high socks, and sneakers that lit up when you walked. She tossed on some sparkly jewelry for good measure. She thanked Ollie for his help, and at about 10:30 started to make her way to where the texts told her to go. She'd never been to the Varsity house before, she didn't know her way, so it took some time especially in the dark to find it. Sam hesitated around the sidewalk before walking up to it. Then hesitated around the door, not sure if she was supposed to go inside or not. She was waiting for someone to show up right? She decided she would wait out front, and imagined she was totally not looking very strange in the pitch black with her light up bracelets and shoes that blinked off and on every time she took a step.

the text had sent a cold chill through alethea. in fact they had spent a full ten minutes staring back at it, hands shaking, wondering if they could reply. what would they say? fuck you? no? demand some sort of answer? all of that seemed futile and in fact a waste of time. so once they peeled themselves from the floor of their room, she began to find some sort of something that would be 'ready to rave' whatever that meant. anger flashed in her chest as she did, pulling a long coat to cover her and glancing in the mirror. why was she letting yet another person dictate her actions? this person didn't even have a face though alethea more often picture greer gleefully torturing them all. tearing away from her mirror she made the journey toward the library. staring up at the tall structure, she felt that anger again, aching in her bones. it radiated so deeply she was surprised that she wasn't already crying, her instinct to the feeling. "fuck." they mumbled, pushing through the heavy doors and glancing around, keeping their coat tightly around them. "hello?" silence. "greer?" she tried again softer, as they looked around. if it was greer, well alethea had a few choice words for her.

Who: Unknown. When: Saturday, May 6th - 11PM. Where: The Beach.
Pissed. At this point it's the only way to describe how they're feeling, at their past being dangled over them like it was cute. Much like the rest of campus, Nova didn't know who was behind this mess and to be frank, they tried to not much care. It wasn't as if he'd known Greer anyway — apparently, that wasn't good enough to keep their name out of the bullshit. It wasn't as if the troubles of their past were a complete secret, they had been tried as an adult and their spot in Mensa had meant the headline was too juicy to ignore, but how many of Ogden's student body knew about that? Or had remembered the name and face in order to pair it with his own? It was a low likelihood, something they'd been able to ignore more often than not when they were distracting themselves with classes and people but now? Everything was being threatened; the place they'd worked so hard to return to, to once again be someone their mother could be proud of, to not disappoint Ruthie. It's why the venom seeps from their voice the instant they hear movement behind them, not even bothering to turn and face their company. "Can I fucking help you?"

Who: Unknown. When: Saturday, May 6th - 11PM. Where: The Chapel.
It's a miracle, the fact that she'd begun digging through her tote bag in search of something else entirely, the contents dumped onto the ground only for the notification on the illuminated phone screen to catch her attention. Texts are a rarity, the few people who have their number well aware that it was hardly a good way to reach them, pale eyes scanning over the text before flashing to the time. 10:57 PM. Another miracle in that she'd been relaxing in the cool grass of the quad, that she'd been able to merely give the space around a quick glance before slipping across the way, testing the chapel's doors and slipping inside. It's only when the door creaks open a second time that she suddenly rises from where she'd been lying on a pew, attempting to seek out the face lingering in the dark. "G? Greer?" Half the face they're expecting to see in that instant. "Or is this code for God because the all knowing thing is pretty impressive but you're going to have to do better to make me a true believer."

Who: Unknown. When: Saturday, May 6th - 11PM. Where: The Cemetery - East Entrance.
The picture at the carnival had been her first warning, that someone knew something they shouldn't, that someone wanted to remind her of the party and the last time she'd seen Greer. Things have been heavy since but now? Now her whole body feels as if it might shut down. Outside of attempting to produce an outfit that would be satisfactory, she had hardly moved from her spot on the bed, hadn't released the grip on her phone until the reminder she'd set went off. 10:00 PM. She wouldn't be late, she would also be early enough that she could change her route if it was needed, avoid anyone who might see her or question where she was going. She takes a last look in the mirror, tugs at the white material as if it may suddenly offer more coverage. The outfit was far outside of Carmen's usual comfort level, a piece that'd been purchased on a whim and hidden in the back of her closet since, but the last thing she wanted was to upset whoever was dangling secrets above her head. She makes her way there swiftly and quietly, keeping an eye out for anyone else. She tries desperately to stay still, to avoid pacing — but the nerves wracking through her are apparent in the way she fiddles with the dresses beading, in the way she jolts at every small noise, at the tension in her limbs when she hears someone else approaching. "H-hello?"
