I’m reading Iron Flame for the first time

-SPOILERS-

I’m on chapter 20. I’m enjoying it so far but I can’t stand how hypocritical Violet is being. I’m not saying she doesn’t have any right to be upset at Xaden, but doesn’t she see that it’s so much bigger than their relationship? He is only telling her selective truths for a reason. And that reason is to keep people alive???? That’s a pretty good reason. And she’s mad at him yet she’s lying to Rhiannon and all of her friends every single day?? For the same reason Xaden is???? Dain can read minds, Violet. If Xaden told you every single thing, then that would be very dangerous if the info leaked. She’s so frustrating and needs to get over herself.

Also side note, Tairn is hilarious and awesome. He almost killed Solas when Varrish told Violet she would have to endure another punishment for not having Andarna show up to flight maneuvers. What a king

I finished all 5 ACOTAR books, then Fourth Wing, and now my friend and I are buddy reading Throne of Glass for the first time. I’ll eventually get to Iron Flame, maybe the other TOG books, and then when the 6th ACOTAR book comes out I want to read that one, and then I have a few that I bought on Stuff Your Kindle Day on Wednesday that looked good, like The Cord Between Us, A Deadly Education, Hallowed Games, and Queen of Roses. I forgot how much I liked to read. The last series I got super into was The Maze Runner, then after finished all of those books I took a break for a while and then read some one-off books but felt meh about them. It feels so good to get back into reading with books I really love.

Any other suggestions of similar series/books?

I just made possibly the most niche, specific comparison ever but hear me out:

Is anyone here both an ACOTAR fan and a CNCOwner?

Because

Chris/Cassian: both start with C’s, both are goofy and hilarious, love to joke around and get into hijinks

Zabdiel/Azriel: both have z’s in their names and end with “iel”, both are quiet and private about stuff, both have a deadpan sarcastic humor that is actually super funny. Now it makes sense now why both of them are my faves, because they’re so similar to each other

Richard/Rhysand: both start with R and end in d, are both literal fathers, can both be hotheaded and stubborn at times, but are loyal and protective of those they love

Erick is the only one who doesn’t really fit in, name wise, but based on his personality, he definitely belongs with Cass and Chris.

My mind is blown. I wonder if SJM is a CNCO fan. It makes me want to write a CNCO/bat boys crossover fanfic now…

I finished all five books of the A Court of Thorns and Roses series and I’m obsessed. They are so good. They’re trending on IG and TikTok for a good reason! I cannot wait til book 6 comes out. For now, I’ve moved onto Fourth Wing. I’m only on chapter 4 but I like it so far. My brain still needs to remember not to expect faeries though…

CNCO had their very last Última Cita show last night in Puerto Rico, which means they’re officially broken up now. I’m sad that we’ve lost an incredibly talented group. The magic of their voices melding together was truly something special. 😔 It will take a while to get used to them being broken up. It feels like something is missing now and we will need time to grieve. But I’m sure with time it’ll get easier, like anything else.

However, I’m so thankful that all four intend to continue to put out music, because if they were stepping away from the industry altogether, I don’t know what I’d do. I’m looking forward to seeing what they put out (and I guess I can finally listen to Zabdiel’s songs now, since it didn’t feel right to do so while the group was still intact).

I happened upon CNCO totally by chance three years ago, during the summer of 2020, while looking up something else on YouTube. I often think about what my life would be like if I hadn’t discovered them. The friends I wouldn’t have met through the fandom, and this wonderful band that I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of listening to. I wasn’t there since day one, but I’m grateful I had three great years before they ended it 🫶🏻

4Ever actually isn’t as cheesy as I thought it would be!! I’m about to start episode 3 (I’m trying to watch it slowly and make it last). There are some mildly cheesy moments but overall it’s pretty good! And the guys are decent actors! I’m impressed. It’s cute so far. Looking forward to watching the rest!

Hopefully this show might make people discover CNCO, even though they’re breaking up soon. At least new fans would have 8 years of songs/videos/interviews/etc to enjoy 🥲 and their solo stuff coming up, and then who knows…. (Erick said that if given the opportunity to do a second season of 4Ever, maybe they would!)

So I noticed a thing, and then I made a thing

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the drama with CNCO disbanding and the drama between Zabdiel and Richard. Of course, we don’t know the guys personally so this is all my own opinion:

I definitely don’t think Zabdiel had any bad intentions towards the other guys when resigning with WK (okay we don’t know for 100% sure that he resigned with them, but all arrows point to yes, based on Richard clearly being upset). I think WK told him what he wanted to hear and has promised him success and has already started enticing him with invitations to events and things. It seems that with the Talitha thing and now this, Zab seems to see the best in people and to believe them. I wouldn’t say he’s naive, but just maybe a bit too trusting? I think in both cases (Talitha and WK), they knew what they were doing/saying in order to keep Zab with them, and doing whatever they could to make sure that happens. I’m not making excuses for Zabdiel- I think Richard has every single right to be upset, and I agree with him. I would be upset too. To see your brother re-sign with a team that has done nothing to help you succeed? I wouldn’t be okay with it either. However Zab isn’t the kind of person to do things to spite others. I think he’s the victim here. He fell into their trap and I really really really hope he doesn’t get cast aside after the honeymoon period wears off and end up with a tanked career like Joel.

So I think the outcome of all this will be either 1.) WK will end up tanking his career and he will have to quit and find someone new (aka repeating CNCO’s mistake), 2.) they’ll make him super successful and he will have no reason to get back with the boys if the other 3 do want to, 3.) all four will have successful careers and none of them will want to reform CNCO (I guess this is the next best thing if they aren’t going to reunite), or 4.) they all will flop and we won’t get much from any of them (which is the absolute worst case scenario that I’m praying doesn’t happen), 5.) maybe they all will have a bit of success with solo stuff but ultimately realize (including Zab) that their true heart is being in a group and get back together, which is my personal preference. Or- maybe they could reunite as a group but also do a bit of solo work on the side at the same time, as many artists do (though I can’t see WK allowing Zab to do that).

One thing is certain though. And listen closely please:

We should do all we can to make sure the guys’ solo careers don’t flop! Whether you’re upset at Zab for sticking with WK or not, he still deserves success and so do all the other boys. They deserve to be paid fairly, to be promoted well, etc, and although we don’t have any control over that, we DO have control over the amount of streams they get and ticket sales if they do solo shows, etc. All the stuff we do have control over, I hope we show the boys that we still will support them wherever they end up!

The blame fully rests on their terrible management team for treating them SO badly that the guys felt that the only way to fix things is to break up, thus breaking apart that magic that they all have as a group. I just saw them perform live for the very first time last week and I knew they were talented from watching online performances, but this was a whole different level! Their harmonies were magical together and I will never forgive WK for ruining what they had. Especially now that they seem to be treating Zabdiel well, it’s so messed up because they HAVE to be fully aware that they’re not treating them all like that. The guys deserve SO much better. So no, I definitely do not think Zabdiel should have resigned with WK, but it’s likely that he did and we should still support him because he is incredibly talented and doesn’t deserve his career to flop. And I hope he and Richard heal their friendship and realize their bond is stronger than the drama.

I hardly ever go on tumblr anymore but I have to make a post about this.

I took a quick trip down to Orlando from late Thursday evening til early Sunday morning to see CNCO perform a show on Friday (since there’s still no word about the northeast US like originally promised 😒) and

They were INCREDIBLE

Their harmonies and dance moves and their vocal runs (especially Richard- that boy can SING) and Zabdiel playing guitar for Primera Cita, and everything. It was perfect and I wish I could turn back time to see it again. 😭😭 I’m SO mad at WK for taking this talent away from us, this magic that they have together as a group. It’s their fault and I will forever hold a grudge. 😤 I really really hope that after a bit of time apart, after trying some solo stuff, the guys will get back together as a group under a totally new management team. One that will help them succeed as much as they deserve.

And I am so upset at the team for not making plans to go to Europe and other parts of the world. They all deserve to see the guys one last time. What I think they should do, if they’re not going to tour Europe or Asia, is to film one of the live shows or do it separately at the stage they used for the virtual show (with the camera getting up close to the guys of course, so then again maybe not at a real show so that the camera doesn’t block anyone’s view), and put it up for sale so we can all have it. I would buy it gladly, so I can watch it whenever I want. But really, they should go to Europe (if Richard can handle hanging on a big longer, that is. He seemed happy and enjoying himself at our show. He really does love performing, it seems. Also, his family including Aaliyah was there 🥹 as well as Erick and Zab’s families too 🥹)

And in Orlando I also FINALLY met two cncowner friends that I connected with on tumblr/Twitter and started texting with every single day since discovering CNCO during quarantine. It was absolutely amazing to meet in person after all these years 😭😭🥰🥰

I cannot stop thinking about the show now that I’m back home. The post concert depression is hitting HARD

Because honestly, if you know what Fall Out Boy’s music videos are like then you wouldn’t actually be surprised seeing them in these costumes. In fact, I would bet that the guys themselves pitched this idea to Jimmy and his team.
