enough about the timeloop I wanna hear about the post-timeloop.
person who just got over the horror of being trapped in a loop and settled into a comfortable routine...but then the timeloop breaks and they struggle to reacclimatize. person trapped in a loop for years who grieved their loved ones—who are suddenly back and acting like nothing happened (because for them nothing did). teenager who aged physically and mentally during the timeloop and now they're so much older than they're supposed to be. random strangers who were trapped in a loop together relieved to get away from each other at last, but feeling oddly bereft of familiar company. service worker who is pissed as fuck to have to go back to work

we need a name for the opposite of a blorbo. an anti-blorbo if you will. a character you’ve been forced to encounter in dashboard wilderness so often it's now anathema to your fandom instincts. not a blorbo but a "hell no not this fucker again"

An important lesson we can learn from plants, especially those considered "weeds", is that if a system does not work for you, grow around it.
Dandelions cannot thrive trapped under a concrete roof, so they twist and spread and sprout between the cracks.
Tree roots will find their way through foundations and bricks to feed the tree.
Brambles will climb up and over fences designed to keep them out, if what's beyond let's them grow.
A sunflower in a pot will face the sun, not the room it's owner so desperately wants it to decorate.
Do what you need to do to thrive, irregardless of what others think you should do.

Never underestimate the power of subtle body language to help those around you without causing a scene.
I use “stepping in front of insensitive/nosey assholes to block their view of a person they’re starring at” a lot. No words exchanged. Just getting between them (sometimes while starring back at them if they’re being extra weird) and they always seem to either realize what they’re doing or be jolted out of it. Either way it has never ended in a confrontation, just silent looks.
A kinda weird use of body language happened some time ago while I was standing at a bus stop near a train station. Right next to me stood a very short woman who I guessed to be from India based on her looks and dress, and around us were nothing but men. I’m very standard height for a Scandinavian woman so I’ve never felt short or tall in any group, but she looked tiny next to all these men packed tightly around us. I’m not sure why but I felt like she was uncomfortable with all these men towering over her and for some reason my response to that was to subtly change my stance so my front faced her a bit more. Not full on, but the way most friends stand next to each other, while still looking away from her. I don’t know why I thought that would be comforting to her because it could just as easily have come off as threatening, but after a few seconds she moved a bit closer to me. And then a bit closer. And then slightly closer. All without anyone else in the group moving. We stood like that until the bus arrived and then we went to separate seats.
So never be afraid to silently signal to strangers that you’re on their side or that they can fuck right off. People tend to respond better to that than words in my experience unless they’re already looking for a fight.

Real places that belongs in gothic fantasy:
The Sanded Church of Skagen
Tumblr media
Over time sand from the nearby sea claimed this church. Here’s a drawing of what it looked like as it was slowly swallowed by nature.
Tumblr media
The lower part is inaccessible but you can still get into the tower.
Tumblr media
Inside where the roof to the lower part is still visible.
Tumblr media
Backside where you can see where they eventually removed the part of the roof still visible over the sand.

Not too long ago I made a post about the Sanded Church of Skagen that was abandoned due to being buried in sand, but the “sand problem” is much larger than the church.
Tumblr media
If you look at Denmark on a map you might notice a white dot near the very top of the country.
Tumblr media
That my friend is a huge sand dune that arose out of the sea 300 years ago and is slowly eating its way through the landscape at 18 meters a year.
Tumblr media
And if you look closer you might notice that it’s heading straight for the towns Rannerød and Hulsig and when that happens no one will come to save them because the dune is protected. At least they’ll see it coming.
Tumblr media
That means that in a few hundred years we won’t just have a sanded church, we’ll have sanded towns with more roofs and towers sticking out of the dune than any tourist bureau could wish for.
Tumblr media
Because the dune is a very popular tourist spot. I myself have been to it a few times and it’s quite the experience for a child to suddenly be in a “desert” in Denmark.
Tumblr media
If you feel sad for the people in the towns just remember that’s nature. The reason why the dune is protected is because the area used to have many more but people made an effort to destroy them and it fucked up the ecosystem in the area. The dunes leave moist wetland behind that loads of rare creatures thrive in.
Tumblr media
So today the inevitable end of the towns are viewed as sort of romantic poetry about nature, the march of time and appreciating the now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And isn’t it kinda beautiful? To know that something like this exists in the world that will destroy our towns, roads and railways that we could easily eradicate with our modern technology but we choose not to simply because we know it would be wrong.

I grew up believing that when people all over the world called someone a “vagabond” they meant exactly the same type of people.
These guys, easily recognizable by their decked out hats and prams.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I of course eventually learned that no, vagabonds don’t look like this everywhere which made me weirdly nostalgic for the vagabonds of my past. They were this colorful part of my childhood, always drunk but never mean or unpleasant. They were like slightly wobbly traveling wizards, often referred to as “country road knights”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
One asked my school if he would be allowed to sleep in the schoolyard when he passed through the area once a year which they allowed (he naturally woke up to a ring of children standing around him every time but it seemed to have been worth it for a safe place to sleep) and my housemate had a local vagabond who’d often sit on a bench outside the school, as always drunk but never bothering anyone. Last winter I encountered one who made a bit of money by shoveling snow outside a store while being nothing but pleasant.
Tumblr media
I have no idea if Danish vagabonds have some type of code they live by because they seem to be very dedicated to just living their life and bothering no one, and in popular culture they’re always depicted as drunk and poor but carefree people in tune with nature.
