Fang of the Sun Dougram

I had the pleasure of watching all 75 episodes of this awesome show and I absolutely loved it, especially since I was aware of its existence around 1988-89. Theres has been one thing about it that’s been bothering me since finishing it: did they leave it open for a sequel series or was the movie supposed to be of original material and not a synopsis of the series? I mean, we know that all the main characters perish based on the pilot episode (except for Canary). But they really short Rocky and the gang in the final episode and make it sound like Crinn will be back, etc, etc. so did Sunrise just move on to other things or was there not enough interest generated? I know it’s been 33 years this month since it first originally aired. But I can’t find any in depth info regarding the show. Which is kind of sad, seems like the anime from the 1970’s and 80’s are being forgotten as time goes on. So, a little help hear???
