Disclaimer: I do not have every condition listed here (though I do have quite a few). I have verified as much as I could that each resource is a good source of information. If any of these is misleading or wrong in any way PLEASE let me know. I will fix it accordingly.

Wanting to branch into writing more diverse characters? Wanting to include representation for those who are neurodivergent, disabled, or chronically ill? The first step to branching out is to research the various conditions/diseases/disorders your character could have. You also need to research what day to day life would be like for them. Try and find either government websites or websites that belong to the specific research groups for those conditions

Reach out to those you know with a chronic illness (but ALWAYS be sure to ask if it is okay. for some people talking about their illnesses is traumatizing and personal. others (like me) are okay with it!

If there are illnesses not here that you would like represented, let me know! I plan on keeping this updated and continuing adding to it. Every link should take you directly to the source/post.

Remember, a lot of these are more common than you think. there will always be someone out there who feels represented by a character with one of these conditions/disorders/diseases. this kind of representation helps normalize the idea that it is okay to exist as a neurodivergent, chronically ill, or disabled person. you are allowed to have adventures and live a happy life.

HELLO! I ADORE UR WRITING LIKE VERY VERY MUCH. So how about this, reader didn't know that she's best friend w/her high school ex's lil sis in college. One night the bestie invite her to a party in which the reader was like 'okay???' (bcs- well, she needs to be there in case she'll do anything stupid :b). Guess what, her friend was out of control (maybe partying her heart out too much) and eventually fall asleep!!! And being the best bestie ever, the reader took her phone and call the first contact that caught her eyes to fetch the girl ~ "Bro✨" ;)))). And boom they 'accidentally' meet again (and heck yeah it was a moment to treasure). The reader was like no wonder her bestie surname rings a bell?? (and somehoww remind her of someone). In the end, they decided start over again :O. If possible ↪Suna Rintarou ;) or anyone!

reuniting with Suna

note: mentions of alcohol, drinking, and one redeemable frat boy

you were in your third year of college, and at this point you didn’t think you’d make any more friends outside of your own friend group

but when this one plucky freshman, Izumi, joined your club, she quickly got along with everyone, you included

you half expected to be taking on a role of some sort of mentor- but soon enough Izumi became a close friend

she was around so much that she even got integrated into your own friend group, and she often hung out at your college apartment rather than her own dorm

you got a text from her one Thursday evening while chilling at your apartment

Izumi: Y/n-senpaiiii, are you free tonight

you: mhmm, why?

Izumi: I got invited to a party!! can you come with me... it’s my first party T_T

you: .. yeah okay, I’ll meet you at your dorm

you didn’t dislike parties, but you preferred smaller social gatherings with close friends over the loud music and strangers

but still, you figure that you should be there to make sure everything goes alright for the freshman

you were sure that nothing could go terribly wrong, heck why not have some fun

lol just kidding

okay to be fair... it wasn’t that something went terribly wrong, but things were not optimal to say the least

hours after arriving to the frat party, you were now sitting on their lawn. Izumi was laying down next to you sleeping

you had fun fortunately, your voice had turn hoarse- but at least you weren't passed out on the grass like your friend

despite your best efforts to watch how much alcohol Izumi consumed, she managed to slip a few shots in without you noticing

this was her first time drinking, so of course she underestimated herself

going forward, you knew that you had to get her to a bed. but you couldn’t just call an uber because how were you supposed to get your sleeping friend into it?

and you knew no one else at this party, so there were no options for a ride back

suddenly you remembered Izumi offhandedly mentioning how she also had an older brother who attended this university

you grab her phone from her purse and unlock it using her own thumbprint

quickly finding the contact labeled, “bro” you gave it a call

“yeah Izumi?”

“hi yeah no, um Izumi’s kinda passed out on a frat’s lawn... can you come pick her up?”

“...”

“hello?”

“send me the address”

you hung up and texted her brother the address. funny, his voice seemed familiar, but then again, you were slightly intoxicated so maybe you were mistaken

so, you sat on the grass waiting for her brother- but you realize that you didn’t have the slightest clue to what he looked like

while you were pondering how you were able to confirm the identity, you had to wave off a drunk frat boy who was trying to flirt with you and asking you to rejoin the party

you saw a car pull up on the curb, and to your surprise, Suna exited the driver’s seat

he was just as surprised to see you sitting next to his passed out sister

“Y/n?” he asked, but then his eyes darted to his sister, “oh god, Izumi” and shook his head

“you know... I knew her last name sounded a bit familiar- but I didn’t think she was your little sister.” you say, slowly coming to terms that your friend was the younger sister of your ex boyfriend

he chuckles and sits down in front of you, “god your voice sounds awful. anyways, I mean you wouldn’t have known. we broke up before she entered high school- and we never really hung out in at my place so...”

you nodded awkwardly, but then then the frat boy from earlier came back and kneeled beside you, resting his hand on your shoulder

“heyyy, you sure you don’t wanna rejoin the par- oh hey- who’s this, your boyfriend?” for someone who was supposed to be impaired from alcohol, the frat boy noticed Suna’s eyes staring at his hand on your shoulder and slowly removed it

“uhh no, this is my ex from high school” you explain

“oh shIIIIT. no way! small world huh. why’d you guys break up? bad shit went down between you two?” it was almost comical how invested the stranger was into your lives

“no it was pretty mutual. I think.. it was just the wrong time for us” Suna says, and you nod in agreement

“yeah- yeah. that’s totally fair. but like... when is the right time?”

you and Suna stare at the frat boy dumbfounded. were you three really going to have this conversation

the frat boy hears his name being called from the house and stands up, “alright, well thats me. by the way, if you two don’t... you know... then like... yeah” he said, looking straight at you and motioning a ‘call me’ signal before leaving

you burst out into laughter, “he asked me to call him but doesn’t even give me his number”

Suna raises an eyebrow at you, “so you were considering it? calling him”

“pfft no, but it’s funny. like wow I did not think you could have a semi positive experience with a drunk frat boy” and even Suna can’t help but chuckle at your statement

before Suna can say anything, you look over to Izumi, “so uhh... you’re gonna drop her off?”

Suna had completely forgotten about his sister, “oh uh yeah. I can drop you off at your apartment too” and you quickly agree

the two of you move Izumi to the back seat of Suna’s car, and you hop into the passenger seat

first, you help Suna with bringing his sister back to her dorm room- which was easier said than done considering Suna was able to carry her with ease. you on the other hand, were in charge of opening doors for the siblings.

with this joined effort, Izumi was back in her bed

as the two of you walked out of the dorm and back to his car, you caught up with Suna. after all, it had been nearly four years since you last spoke

the two of you laughed about the things that went on in your lives post break-up and the paths you were hoping to head down in the future

still, you two evaded the topic you wanted to address the most

but the car had reached your apartment, and you had to leave Suna for the second time- yet you found yourself lingering in his car

“uh hey Y/n” his voice sounded so nostalgic just then

you turn to face him and tilt your head in response

“yeah Rin?” you mentally curse to yourself when you accidentally used his neckname

“I was thinking about what the drunk frat boy said earlier. about when the right time is”

you nod slowly, and you feel your heart beating a bit faster in anticipation

“well, what if I think right now is the right time? would you be willing to give this another go?”

you’re silent, still trying to grasp his words. sure you were hoping he said that, but why was it so shocking when he did bring it up

Suna was worried he had crossed a line, “I mean, I know it’s coming out of nowhere, so don’t feel pres-”

“no, I think now’s the right time too!” you say, and a small smile forms on his face

you hand him your phone, “I may have deleted your number after we broke up..”

he enters his number, and as he returns your phone to you, he quickly kisses your cheek

you cup your cheek and stare at him, surprised and unable to hide your growing blush

“just thought we could skip through the awkward bits” he says nonchalantly, yeah he hasn’t changed much from high school

you roll your eyes at him and begin exiting his car to get back to your apartment. Suna would have walked you back himself, but you didn’t want him to have to deal with finding a parking spot on the streets

instead, he watches you walk back to the building, waiting for you to text him that you’ve made it back to your apartment

then he sunk back into his seat and sighed in relief. like wise, you plopped onto your bed, in disbelief at what at just happened

who would’ve guessed that the driving force to bring you back together was a drunk frat boy
