TRad and TEnid from Let’s Fight to the End! I did the top monochromatic version a bit early so we could send the designs to @porigoshi so he could start animating the amazing fight sequence from the second half of the episode! As always, these were a huge collab! @ianjq drew concepts for both of them, and @killapede designed the concepts for TEnid and @dannyducker designed TRad specifically - they all came up with super fun poses and ideas. I had so much fun w/their final designs - I love drawing flying characters! They were also brought to life w/boards and animation by @killapede , @maxcollins , @stevieborbolla , Kofi Fiagome, and @porigoshi ! The beautiful final colors were designed by @kalidraws - art direction was by Kali as well! We all put a ton of love into the finale and we hope you all loved it too! <3

here’s a bunch of unused boards of mine from “Crossover Nexus” ! (besides the drawing of KO sending Ben through the air on a power fist, lol.) this episode was originally a 22 minute 2-parter so a ton of antics got cut from the final. i had fun going back through and looking at it all, i had forgotten about most of this lol!

i wrote a big thread on this with a bunch more boards and info! this episode was a beast but the wonderful response made it worthwhile :’) thanks everyone!!

I love these backgrounds from Bittersweet Rivals in the Point Prep Arc. Some very cool ones, but my favorite is the sunset painted by William Gibbons. 

Also included here: The tippy top of Point Prep, the view below, and a front and reverse view of Enid, Elodie, Koala Princess, and Miss Pastel’s living room. These are my layouts, painted by William for the top four and Emily Walus for the downshot. Art direction by John Pham.

And hey! Here are some of the storyboards we used to lay out the backgrounds. We were mostly able to stick to the boards for these examples - by Mira Ongchua and Geneva Hodgson (with revisions by Max Collins and Kofi Fiagome).

“Hanna-Barbera” Witch Enid

For the episode “Monster Party”, our friends at Warner Bros. lent us the original model sheets for the Ghoul School gang. Inspired by those great designs, Art Director John Pham and Showrunner @ianjq designed a “Hanna-Barbera” version of Enid’s young witch form for her flashback scenes! Greatly influenced by the work of legendary H-B character designer Iwao Takamoto. Color by @kalidraws!

(Enid’s young witch form first appeared as a ghost in episode 1044-023, “Face Your Fears”)

Happy Halloween! Monster Party aired on TV yesterday! This ep was so much fun. These are all based on @ryannshannon and @stevieborbolla ‘s beautiful boards! @ianjq did a lot of work/drawovers with me on the 3 girls’ designs as well to get em perfect, & Ben Bates did the models for Tanis and Winnie! @kalidraws worked so hard on the colors for all these night scenes, & John Pham helped us really sell the HB sequences! We were actually able to get the original Ghoul School model sheets for those scenes. It came out so good!

Here are some master shots I drew and William Gibbons painted for CN City, from OK K.O.’s awesome Crossover Nexus special! This episode was crazy fun to draw! We had soooo much to cram in. Ian kept giving Daniella and I notes for more, specific show/promo/character references throughout the episode… and I’m glad audiences appreciated it!!!! I love this video from The Roundtable catching EVERY(!?) CN reference and easter egg. Did he catch them all? Maybe these will help!

Behind the scenes info from Character Designer Ben Bates!

It would be much better if I could find the original designs for all these characters but they’re either buried deep in some folder or I dont even have access to them. I’ve never inquired but it seems very early in OK KO’s development a ton of background character concept art was produced. I was still freelancing for OK KO on this episode and was given the original concept art as well as the board artists redesigns.

You’ll have to take my word that each of these are a departure from their original concept design. My job was to blend a little of the old in with the new for the final design. 

Purrcival has been revised, I’m not sure by who, but I had drawn him holding a book in his left hand. I dont mind that it needed to be taken out but I want to be clear that I did not draw that hand.

i looooove the twin biker goons designed by @dannyducker, i had a lot of fun designing their bike too! (i concepted it on a long gone scrap of paper, keep good records folks lol)
