Sayonara, Japan!

Shopping mall? Nope. It’s Haneda airport.

The toilet stalls are so large I can bring in my wheeled cart (no charge to use) with me. The stall would also fit 2 suitcases easily. There are several hooks for bags, umbrellas, and a washlet. Of course the door locks match up and there is no toilet paper all over the floor. Going to miss the cleanliness!

Dinner at a Korean restaurant in Tsukuba. Interesting how they fried up the meat… the grill is tilted so all the meat drippings go into a bowl of kimchee. When all the fat is done dripping, the kimchee is spread out on the grill to be eaten!

Bye! 👋 Checked out of the best Tokyo Airbnb so far. Excellent location, excellent price @$57.00/night. But unfortunately it’s not a secret. It’s almost fully booked next year.

— A night out around Sky Tree. ✨
KuraSushi : ¥100 yen sushi is no longer — It’s more like ¥132 and ¥190 sushi. But quality is still awesome for the price!

A mailbox decorated with kappa on the Main Street of Kappabashi (the kitchen supplies area of downtown)

An old Wurlitzer jukebox that still plays records in Kappabashi.

You may have heard of cat cafes where you can go and play with cats, there’s one on Kapahulu. Well, here you can also spend time with rabbits and hedgehogs!

Saturday, November 12, 2022. Tokyo
Today was a beautiful sunny cool day so we decided to walk around the downtown area of Tokyo.

The tourists are back! This a group of non-Asian tourists, all of them dressed in kimono walking along the streets near Asakusa.

Classic downtown!

Shopping at Shimojima in Asakusabashi.
Packaging dream store. Row after row after row of packaging and 8 floors of it! Talk about overload… in a good way! They have every style, every color, and so many kinds of bags and boxes I’ve never seen before. Hard to get myself out of this place!

Only in Japan:
This is a workspace cube at Oshiage station. Inside is a mini office: desk, air conditioning, big screen, and internet, of course. ¥275 per 15 minutes which comes out to about $8.00/ hour.
An alternative to “work from home” you can “work from train station” in Tokyo!

Jon’s bento lunch ¥213 or about $1.25!!

Laura’s bento ¥312 or about $2.25!! 🤗
Tokyo’s not expensive if you’re lucky. There’s a discount grocery store a couple minutes walk away from our apartment.
