pov,  i’m  here  and  i  got  coffee  in  my  big  no  prob-llama  wine  tumbler  and  i’m  weaving  you  an  entire  tale  about  the  importance  of  this  entire  subplot  in  regards   to  the  development  of  yuuta’s  character,   and  the  believability  in  the  huge  strides  he  makes  within  the  short  time  frame  outlined  in  volume  0.   i’m  waxxing  mega  poetic  about  the  reflecting  narratives   &.  the  struggle  to  connect  and  communicate  as  a  direct  consequence  of  the  cards  you’ve  been  dealt,    but  to  have  the  strong  desire  to  do  so  regardless,   and  the  fascinating  way  these  commonalities  are  shared  between  two  characters  with  totally  opposing  personalities.  pov  i’m  on  the  floor

the  way  that  yuuta’s  updated  character  design  was  part  of  a  deliberate  effort  to  avoid  ppl  confusing  him  for  megumi   ( still  happens  lol )  but  also  the  way  that  it  incidentally  lends  itself  to  further  illustrating  yuuta’s  ongoing  recovery  from  depression  in  something  as  seemingly  minor  as  brushing  your  hair   &.   caring  for  your  appearance.

       yuuta  cuts  away  whatever  words  were  next  due  in  queue  by  a  click  of  his  teeth     &.    the  fan  of  a  looming   𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸   falling  across  his  lashes,    evinced  from  nowhere        ──       a  thing  large,      pale,      &.    monstrous  to  the  practiced  eye,     sidling  in  close  to  the  hand  he’d  stretched  up  to  place  against  her  knife - sharpened  canines.     “   forgive  my  weak  constitution,   ”     and  it’s  buoyed  off  𝚊  𝙨𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚  in  spite  of  the  reality.     “   when  she  wants  to  join,    it  feels  too  mean  to  say  𝘯𝘰.   ”

what  if  i  talked  abt  the  dichotomy  of  the  use  of  yellow  in  media  as  according  to  color  theory,   the  immediate  association  with  warmth  and  energy  as  likened  to  things  relating  to  the  sun  while  also  being  universally  regarded  as  a  warning  sign,    something  that  says   “  keep  going,   but  be  careful.    pay  attention.   something  bad  could  happen  to  you. ”   it  jumps  to  the  center,   commands  attention  against  the  dull  or  the  dark,   it’s  overwhelming,    irritating,   sickening,    but  indicative  still  of  change,   courage,    youth.    there’s  something  unrelenting  about  it  any  which  way.    when  yuuta  remembers  his  past,   it’s  almost  always  in  yellow,    whether  it’s  that  day  or  the  days  before.
