A medley of some underappreciated EC songs and the latest Yorushika album.

Since these songs seem to be less popular I’ll provide a song list under the cut. There are two bonus hidden motifs if you want to try to listen for them, though.

Wow. Okay, I’m honestly just impressed you sat down with that twelve-minute monster of a track and tried to figure out all the songs. I don’t know if I would have the willpower to go back and do that, and I had to decide on the order in the first place. I’m also very impressed you got some of the noncanon or marginally relevant ones like South North Story and 10 Minute Love.

I also looked through the order I have for reference and you are pretty much entirely correct! Besides the one part you were unable to identify, you correctly guessed (or included as one of your guesses) each part of the medley. Finally, with regards to a lot of the parts sounding the same, I realized after deciding to give each part of Master of the Heavenly Yard its own section that I was going to run into a lot of repeated melodies, so I tried to choose as unique ones as I could. That’s not to mention similar songs like Song I Heard Somewhere/Full Moon Laboratory as well. I hope you enjoyed listening!

*通常の読み方と違って、ここは詩的許容のために「セイエイチョウ」ではなく「きよえどり」と読みます。由来は中国神話に、海に溺れてしまった女の子の魂が鳥に化身して、他人に同じ不運が及ばないために海を小石で埋めようとする物語です。

*An ad-hoc reading of 精衛鳥, more properly read “seiei-chou”. From Chinese legends, the spirit of a little girl who drowned in the ocean, taking the form of a bird to try and fill up the sea with pebbles so the same terrible fate befalls no one else.
