Wings of Cheribum = Swan?

Hi!

I'm screaming this question into the void hoping someone would know the answer or direct me to something that can give me an answer.

I found a blog online that claims that Cheribum wings are based on cygnet 🦢 . At least in paintings from the 4th century onward. Is this true, or are the paintings based on other birds?

I'm aware that many artists have taken the liberty of giving angels as a whole any species of bird and giving them wings. It's excellent, but I'm so confused about where the white wing standard came from?
