“Sam’s in a rough spot, I don’t want to be dragging him on a case when his head isn’t focused and Castiel.. he’s been awol for weeks, one minute he’s here and the next he’s off the face of the earth.” Dean spoke in thought, gesturing his hands here and there as he spoke. His arms wrapped around Aiden before he gave an innocent shrug “I don’t know but a few more scratches and I might have to stay.. you know, to make sure there aren’t any angry customers. You know how I hate leaving a job unfinished.”

“Right. I forgot about that. What about Sam or Castiel? Can’t one of them go with you?” she asked, trying to come up with some kind of compromise. She wanted him to be safe. Hunts alone were dangerous. She sighed, looking at the ground. “Fine. If you think you’ll be okay, then I won’t stop you. Just come back safely okay?” she walked over to give him a hug before looking at the car. “Shit, how did that get there?”

“I think that’s a good thing.” Dean breathed out before correcting himself, “I mean pissing off Lucifer isn’t the best idea but now he knows that he can’t get to you.” He stated in thought, imagining just how difficult it was for Sam to be back in that place with the devil himself. “If you haven’t noticed, we don’t really have much to lose.. with Amara and even with Lucifer.. what’s the worst they could do? Put us on time out?” This time Dean grinned, trying to bring some light to the conversation.

“He did what he always done. Trying to manipulate me into saying yes.” Sam said, his voice shaking in fear of Dean judging him. He wasn’t going to lie, he was tired of lies between them. “When he lost his patience, he took it out on me. Because I wasn’t going to let him use me to go topside.” Sam knew Lucifer wasn’t his problem anymore, but it didn’t stop him from thinking about what he said in the cage.

“Up?” Dean grinned childishly, eyes flickering with amusement as he quickly seen the glare on Cara’s face and his smile formed into a straight line “It seems like, for whatever reason, nothing strange is going on.. anywhere.”

Cara looked up from her laptop as she asked, “All right, then are you having any luck on your end? Do you have a direction for us to go in?”

Dean’s brows raised in surprise, fumbling over his words from how straight-forward the girl was “You keep your eyes on the target,” the sentence was full of attitude.. that is until he realized how horrible of an insult it was. Shaking himself out of his daze, he nodded to himself once as they both started forward.

     ❝ Right… ❞ Maddie rolled with her eyes and cocked her gun. ❝ Be sure to keep your eyes on our target and not me. You’ll have enough time for that afterwards. – If I haven’t blown your brains out by then. ❞ She remained slightly playful, but knew they had to stay focused for the job. They were here to take care of a werewolf and not each other.

Dean couldn’t help but glare at Sadie with the longest eye roll, huffing out a sigh as he continuously shook his head “One day that excuse isn’t going to fly.” He reminded her with a single nod, knowing when they had to move on to the next town, they were running on limited time. Dean shrugged his lips and furrowed his brows about Sadie’s decision on dinner “Yeah, I could go for some pizza.. beats eating in another diner, but it’s much easier to get  girls number in a diner then it is a pizza place.”

Sadie smirked, “hey in my defense, you gave me an hour” she said putting her hands on her hips and smirking. “You know I don’t pack light!” She said chuckling quietly. Sadie walked out the door, and thanked Dean for holding it. Sadie had to really think about this one, “well seeing as we’ve had burgers for the past few nights, I’m not choosing burgers!” She said chuckling more. “How about pizza for a change?” She suggested.
