Lithuanians when talking about Kyivan Rus times and the foreign rulers who imposed Christianity on us and overall killed a lot of innocent people: - The Great Viking Rus'💪💪💪
Lithuanians when talking about Grand Duchy of Lithuania, probably the most normal period in the history of Ukraine: - wE WERE OCCUPIERS 😭😭 (WE'RE SO SORRY TT)
(cause they made a coup d'etat without any mass murders, plus the famous "We don't destroy the old, we don't bring the new", which was so shocking to Ukrainians that this phrase still lives in the annals of history - yes, our standards were quite low XD)

I keep forgetting Andrius Mamontavas is half Lithuanian half Russian 😭😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tho he had a complicated relationship with his Russian father. Both of Andrius parents were doctors, so his father tried to force him into becoming one. Mother never tried to force him, she just stayed quiet. But look at him now, never gave up on his dreams and his dad’s demand, and still after so many years he’s still considered one of the best musicians in Lithuania!

Strange that Lithuanians didn’t fight of who is going first. If they didn’t fight for that, then they will definitely fight for the place in the parking lot.
-my dad, words I have translated

The nine-horned deer is an ancient Lithuanian mythological creature that carries heavenly bodies (mostly the Moon, but also the Sun) in its antlers. From the pre-full moon to the full moon - 9 days, so it is called nine-horned.

The absolute seething anger I have towards Western countries over their red lines for Ukraine is insane. If Lithuania had at least half the power the US has, Ukraine would've already won the war. Meanwhile I have to sit and watch as powerful Western states hide behind lame excuses and place one restriction over another, assuming Ukrainians won't slowly bleed out by being forced to fight with hands tied behind their backs.
Those scummy cowards learned nothing from WW2 or from whatever Eastern European states keep trying to teach them about russia. And just like they did in the lead up to WW2, their weakness and pathetic enabling will drown themselves in blood.
At least when all Ukrainians and Georgians and Moldovans and Lithuanians are dead, it will be their own childrens' turn. And no one will care about their sorrows at that point, just dead silence from the East and unsympathetic weight of consequences over their own decisions.

“Red Army Go Home.”
Yesterday I learned that on August 31, 1993 Soviet troops left Lithuania because the Lithuanians didn't want them there anymore. (Idk how to explain it in short just click on that site💀)
Tumblr media
Oh quick note. Yesterday was also support concert for Ukraine in which Lithuanians collected more than 310,000 and with that money they will buy 600 drones for Ukrainian soldiers. That campaign is called "Greetings from Lithuania"

“The Twelve Brothers, Twelve Black Ravens” is a well-known Lithuanian folk tale about a sister searching for her enchanted brothers who have been turned into black ravens. The black ravens symbolise a mysterious and magical world which is not easy to enter.

Fun fact: during soviet russia occupation, Lithuanian actors were mostly accepted to play villains only because "their appearance closely resembled Germans." If you were Lithuanian during soviet times and you wanted to be an actor, the highest chance to play in a decent movie for you was to accept some "Fritz" role. In "Ivanhoe," e.g., there are quite many Lithuanians playing Prince John and his supporters (who wore Crusaders' crosses, what an irony).
Life became luckier around the 70s: when famous movies like Tadas Blinda or Vėlnio Nuotaka were filmed.

If you’re a Lithuanian and never heard of “FOJE” then this is your chance to listen how the most popular band sounded back in 1980s-1990s Lithuania!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first songs i recommended are “Kitoks pasaulis”, “Žvaigždės kartais krenta”, “Balsas” and “tu krenti”

"I would like to address the recurring question of those 'ordinary Russians' who 'shouldn’t be sanctioned'.
I hear talk of ordinary Russians’ innocence, but then I see ordinary Russians murdering ordinary Ukrainians.
I see ordinary Russian mothers saying goodbye to their ordinary Russian sons and wishing them good luck with their ordinary Russian war crimes.
I see ordinary Russians celebrating murder. I see ordinary Russian parents dressing up their ordinary Russian children in military uniforms and painting the letter Z on a cardboard tank costume.
I see ordinary Russians coming together to make a huge Z formation in the town square.
Ordinary Russia is sick. Healing will be a long and gruelling process which can only start when Russia, not just Putin, is defeated. Without a defeat in Ukraine, Russia will just keep spreading.
So about those “unfair” sanctions against “ordinary Russians”... Well, anything which slows down Russia’s total war machine will have ordinary Lithuanians’ support. Whatever victory takes. Slava Ukraini."
—Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament of Lithuania
