Built in 1933, the former Taipei North Police Station of Imperial Japan later became Taipei Police's 1st Precinct after WWII. Designated as a historic site in 1998, the police relocated in 2012. It now houses the Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Hall.

The Takasago Company Headquarters, built in 1910, changed hands several times before being acquired by Taiwan Garrison Command in the 1950s. Designated as a historic site in 1997, it is now known as the Futai Street Mansion.

Built in 1920, the former Taiwan Bank Company Staff Quarters from the Japanese colonial era was taken over by the Bank of Taiwan after World War II. In 2006, it was designated as a Taipei City Historical Monument. Today, this historic complex is known as the Front Nantsaiyuan Japanese-Style Residence.

During Lunar New Year, when Taipei becomes eerily quiet, I explored the empty streets by motorcycle. A highlight was the former Kawabata-cho Police Box from 1936, which later served as Xiamen Street Police Station. Now designated as a historical building, it has been repurposed as the Kawabata Art Space.

Provincial Highway No.9 is an important location for panning photography in Taiwan. It was my first time to go there and take some photos of my favorite motorcycles.

Taiwan's summer feels hotter due to humidity, making motorcycle rides challenging. To combat the heat, people often seek refreshments at regular intervals. Ice-based treats are particularly popular for cooling down in this sweltering climate.

In the heart of the mountains, a solitary ice cream shop stands. Despite its exorbitant prices, I find myself compelled to buy a bowl of icy tofu pudding. With no other options for miles, the clever owner has cornered the market. Necessity trumps frugality in this remote haven of cold treats.

The Taipei edition of The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2024 took place on Sunday, drawing a throng of motorcycle enthusiasts with a penchant for old-school style. In this Asian nation where scooters reign supreme, witnessing such a gathering of motorbikes was a delightful sight.

A low-key yet hospitable cafe nestled at Taipei's mountainside. Unmarked on maps, it hosts only reserved guests. However, the affable owner ensures first-timers feel warmly welcomed. Unwind indoors or stroll outside - this tranquil retreat promises the perfect relaxing afternoon escape.

I adore full-face helmets, especially vintage styles – stylish, warm, and super safe. Sadly, in Taiwan they're wearable only one season yearly, becoming saunas after winter.

This former coal railway line is now preserved for tourism.
As I biked past,
I quickly photographed myself on the miniature railroad crossing,
capturing the changing fate of the route.
